Stampin' In Alaska

  I'm joining the current Art Impressions challenge to use the color yellow.  I was a recent winner at Art Impressions and chose Kim Hein's adorable Song Birds and Feeders Set.   The image was stamped with my Misti which gave easy alignment for the bird landing on the birdbath.  I used Strathmore watercolor paper and colored with a blender and Tombow markers. The image was die cut with Spellbinder circle and scallop circle dies.  Cardstock from Stampin' Up! - Basic Grey and More Mustard frame the image.  Seam tape ribbon, dry embossed designer paper from Graphic45, gems and leaf dies from Verve Stamps accent the card.  The sentiment is also from Art Impressions.   I'm finishing up Father's Day cards this weekend.  This pair of cards will be going into the mail for a couple of fishermen in my family!  The sentiment is an older woodblock $1 stamp from Michael's.   I stamped the full image of lures from Unity's Reel Great Guy clear stamp set .  It was fussy cut and colored then used as embellishments.  Designer papers are from Carta Bella The Great Outdoors 6x6 paper pad.   The inside sentiment reads "Have a Reel-Y Great Day!".   The April Stay Crafty Challenge with Hero Arts is Opposites Attract - Opposite Colors or Mirror Image .  I chose to create a project by using opposite colors from the color wheel - Orange and Blue. I started by stamping the Hero Arts Antique Rose (2017) woodblock stamp onto watercolor paper.  I used various mediums to watercolor the image - Tombow marker and distress ink with Stickles applied to the center.  The image was fussy cut and layered onto designer papers from the Basic Grey Marrakech Paper Pad.  Layers of vellum die cuts, orange netting, gems and a sentiment finish the card.   I'm joining this week's sketch challenge at My Favorite Things .  I colored a few farm critters from one of my favorite MFT sets The Whole Herd.  The images were colored with Tombow markers and die cut.  An embossed chicken wire panel is the base for my farm scene.  A few enamel dots and sentiment from the same set finish the card.   I'm joining the current House-Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge with the adorable House-Mouse Designs Puddle Jumpers.  I created a mixed media tag with the image and sentiment layered. A cloudy stamp background from Unity Stamps was applied to the tag base.  Ink splatters and Hero Paste was added with a sunburst stencil.  The image was colored with Tombow markers and Stickles added to the rain drops.   I'm joining the current Art Impressions Challenge to CASE that Card !  My card features AI stamps from their Bird Brain line.  Birdie and Stay in Your Nest were both retired in 2018.  I love this big chicken and he's perfect for so many occasions.  Papers are from Graphic45 Farmhouse and the chicken wire embossing folder is Cuttlebug.  Cheese cloth and enamel dots complete the 5.5 square card.   I'm playing along with the House-Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge .  This week's challenge is stitches.  My card features an older Stampendous wood mount stamp called Knit Gift. The image was stamped onto water color paper and water colored with Tombow Markers then die cut with a wonky stitched die.  Prismacolor pencils were also added for highlights.  The sentiment is from a retired Stampin' Up set called Hand Knit.  The striped designer paper is from the Stampin' Up 2010 In-Color papers.  SU Poppy Parade and Cool Caribbean card stock were used.   I picked up a sweet wood mounted House Mouse stamp at Hobby Lobby earlier this month while on vacation.  Spring Rain is so sweet and perfect with the older Farm Fresh papers from October Afternoon. The image was stamped with VersaClaire ink and colored with Tombow markers.  It is bordered with a Spellbinder circle die which was in my stash.  I inked all edges with the same VersaClaire ink, added a sentiment and enamel dots.   The current challenge at Art Impressions is All Wrapped Up - Bows or Ribbons whether real or stamped.  I recently came across a bundle of various stamps at my local thrift store.  What a fun surprise to find the retired AI Zoo Babies Bananas set among the haul! I've stamped the image onto water color paper.  The image was first water colored then highlights were added with both Prismacolor pencils and Tombow markers.  After drying, I fussy cut the image and layered onto yellow gingham and banana designer papers from DaisyD's.  I've included a gingham bow from Gina K, a coordinating sentiment and enamel dots finish the card. The image was colored with Tombow Markers then layered onto MME pattern paper and a variety of circle die cuts.  This was a fun design that used several "scrap" items from my stash.  The sentiment is a retired Stampin' Up! hostess set called Express Yourself.   Happy Saturday!  Alaska is experiencing a very rainy and cool summer this year.  What better way to spend a Saturday morning than in the craft room with Penny Black stamps. My card features the lovely Calm Waters scene from Penny Black.  The image was stamped onto watercolor paper with Versa Clair black ink then water colored with Tombow Markers.  I layered the image panel onto black card stock and kept the design clean and simple.  The finished card size is 6.5 x 3.75.  A sentiment from Unity Stamp Company finishes the card.   The current challenge at Art Impressions is Furries & Feathers.  I was a lucky challenge winner and Dog House Cubbies was my choice.  The pups and little open doors are so fun! I started by stamping all of the images onto water color paper.  They were die cut then colored and blended with Tombow markers.  I decided the image size was perfect for a bookmark. I used papers from my stash and Spellbinders Long Classic Rectangle Large die for the bookmark.  A small tab punch and twine finish the project. This will be going to my niece who is an animal lover.  Watch for more fun creations with this set soon!   I'm joining House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge with a fun Birthday card.  I found this adorable retired House Mouse Designs stamp during a recent trip to a local thrift store.  It's called Jalapeno Peppers from 1998.  It was sold by Stampa Rosa (no longer in business). I stamped the image then clear embossed.  The image was colored with Tombow markers, die cut and sponged.  It was layered onto pattern paper from My Favorite Things Cool Collab paper pad.   Happy Saturday!  I hope everyone gets to enjoy a little crafty time this weekend.   I {LOVE} a good sketch challenge!  The team at MFT always provides a fun and challenging sketch.  I pulled out a favorite MFT set designed by Birdie Brown (Torico) called Friends at First Sip for this week's sketch.   The sweet images were stamped onto watercolor paper and colored then blended with Tombow markers.  They were layered onto papers from MFT Creepy Confections paper pad.  The birthday sentiment is from a retired MFT set - PI All Occasion Sentiments.  A few enamel dots from my stash finish the card.
