Stampin' In Alaska

Today starts a new challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil .  The challenge theme for December is Winter.  We would love to see your Mo Manning images including snow, Christmas and any winter themed project. I was the lucky winner of the October challenge and selected the adorable new Happiness Is digital image as my prize.   I was also asked to join the team this month as Guest Designer.  I'm not gonna lie... Mo's Design Team is so full of talented ladies that I was a little intimidated!   BUT Mo's digis are so fabulous and fun to color that this little card went together quickly. The card base was created with a watercolor wash using distress inks.  Once dried, I splattered white acrylic paint using a toothbrush for a snowy effect.  The image was colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut then layered over a wintery die cut from Memory Box.  I finished the card with a sentiment stamp from my stash. Can you believe that March is almost at an end? Where did the month go? Well, a few inspirational challenges prompted this sweet card tonight.  Crafting is my relaxation and stress relief after coming home from my "day job". It was so much fun to put this little card together using Unity's " Happiness Is " by Phyllis Harris. The image was stamped onto dictionary paper and colored  with Copic Markers.  I sponged the cloudy background with Memento Summer Sky ink and a scallop circle die cut.  The lace and pink border were machine stitched. Happy Friday! I have missed playing along with the Friends with Flair blog hop the past couple of weeks.  It seems like FOREVER since I have been able to play.  Hubby and I took a much needed vacation recently.  We escaped the Alaskan winter and relaxed on the island of Maui.  Of course, it all seems like a dream now!  Great trip! Maybe you will stop back by to take a peek at some of my photos from the trip in this Post . So, I took my Copic Markers, Prismacolor pencils  and a folder of stamped images along on the trip  to color.  I spent a couple of evenings on the lanai coloring in the sunlight.  Boy, was that fun!   I decided to use one of those images " happiness is.. ." by Phyllis Harris to create my project for this week: I kept the design clean and simple to focus on the sweet image.
