Stampin' In Alaska

  I'm joining the current challenge at Art Impressions with a fun, relaxing water scene.  My card features the AI clear set Reel Great Guys 4900.  I haven't used this set for awhile and the cute pup looks so relaxed.  What a perfect image for any birthday wish! The base panel was stenciled using distress inks and Hero Arts Water Flow Slimline stencil.  I colored the image was Copic Markers and fussy cut.  I die cut the sun and clouds using a Spellbinders mini set and lightly inked the edges. I've used the current MFT sketch again for my water scene.   I'm back in the craft room after a much needed winter break!  We took a few days to visit Cancun Mexico.  The sun, warm weather and ocean were so relaxing!   Today I created a fun ocean scene for the sketch and color challenges at My Favorite Things.  My card features the adorable Best Catch Ever CS-575 . The whale image was colored with alcohol markers and fussy cut.  The background was created by inking a Hero Arts bubble background stamp with distress ink then spritzing with water.  I then stamped onto water color paper and let dry.  Love the fun effect! Papers and sentiment are from MFT.  A few gems finish the card.   This month is all about Love, Hugs, Hearts and Friendship!  I'm joining PBSC with a sweet mousey couple from Penny Black's transparent set Hugs! #30-020 . The image was colored with Copic Markers.  I created a heart stencil using using a Recollections cutting plate.  The hearts were sponged with Memento Red Rose ink. A couple of small sentiments and rhinestones finish the card.   February is all about hearts!  I'm sharing heart themed card for the current Art Impressions challenge featuring Love Thing Set - 4752 . The sweet couple was colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut.  Using the negative from a heart die cut, I sponged distress ink then spritzed with water.  A paint brush and liquid distress ink was used to splatter the background. A coordinating sentiment from the set and gems finish the card.   I'm joining the February Anything Goes Challenge at Beccy's Place with a bookmark.  Beccy's adorable Birdhouse and Vines freebie image worked perfectly for the bookmark. The digital image was colored with Copic Markers and die cut with a Spellbinder Long Classic Rectangles die.  A few bird dies were added from Memory Box Resting Birds.  I finished with a tassel made from various funky fibers in my stash. Beccy's challenge is always Anything Goes with an Option.  This month she asked us to include something from our local area.  Although Alaska is still experiencing snow and winter weather I am dreaming of the flowers and birds that we get to enjoy during our brief summer months!   I am having so much fun with the new Celebrate Everything Card Kit from My Favorite Things !  I create and send a lot of birthday cards throughout the year.  This set is great when you don't feel like coloring and need a quick (cute) card. Of course, the balloons were created with the Balloon Builder die.  I've used Moroccan Spice and Caribbean Sea card stock from the kit.  The sentiment comes from the coordinating stamp set.   I'm joining the current challenge at Di's Digi Stamps using red and pink.  My card features Di's adorable Strawberry Fields .  This made the sweetest Anniversary card for my stash! The image was colored with Copic Markers.  I water colored the strawberries with Tim Holtz distress ink, shading with Prismacolor pencil and charcoal pencil. Papers are from the American Crafts Everyday paper pad.  Gems and a sentiment from Stampin' Up! finish the card.   Create A Smile is sponsoring a fun mood board challenge this time.  I took my inspiration from the colors and woodgrain photo.  I LOVE the delicate Summer Florals Cool Cuts.  I cut each flower in red and black then layered for dimension.   I'm joining the current House-Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge with a monochromatic Get Well card.  My card features the adorable House Mouse Designs Get Well Soon cling stamp from Stampendous.  The image was stamped with my Misti onto water color paper.  Various Tombow markers were used to water color the image.  Flowers and rhinestones were added from my stash.  Heart designer paper is from the BoBunny Modern Miss paper pad.   I'm joining a couple of the current MFT challenges with a simple birthday card.  I took a little different direction with the sketch this week.  But the main elements are still there!  Don't you feel that this could be sent to a guy or gal?  I LOVE the MFT Limelight green.  Yummy! This is my second card using the new Celebrate Everything Card Kit.  I'm certain there will be many more to come!  The candle die was used on the various colors then the flames were cut from yellow card stock.  I included a small orange flame with Tombow markers. The image was colored with Copic Markers and layered onto designer paper from Doodlebug designs.  A couple of felt snowflakes and rhinestones were added.  The sentiment is from a local stamp store (now out of business).
