Stampin' In Alaska

I'm joining the current House-Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge with the adorable House-Mouse Designs Puddle Jumpers.   I included the optional sparkle with LOTS of Stickles on this rainy scene. The image was colored with Tombow Markers and blended.  I water colored the sky and watery ground with Tim Holtz distress inks.  After it was dry, I came back and applied Waterfall Stickles to all of the raindrops.    This was so fun to color and create!  I finished the card with an embossed sentiment on vellum from Stampin' Up!  The Wonky Rectangle die used for the main panel is from My Favorite Things. Thanks so much for all of you who participating in the week long Holiday Chaos challenge over at Catch the Bug!  Be sure to check the blog for all of the winners. Today the design team is back with a new weekly challenge - Naked Stamping - No coloring but you can use colored ink.  My shaker card began by printing the Bugaboo Coffee Words Cup image onto vellum.   It's hard to see in the picture, but the top panel was dry embossed with a snowflake folder.   The border was created using Gina K Designs Fancy Foils from Therm O Web.  I love the added sparkle that the foil provides and it is SO easy!   To finish the card I added Gina K Designs Gingham Fancy Ribbon and snowflake brad. I'm sharing a Thanksgiving card this morning which was inspired by this week's Mojo Monday sketch . I was a recent winner of Mojo Monday and  received the adorable Bountiful Harvest set. The pumpkin image was embossed  on kraft with black emboss powder from CTMH and colored with Prismacolor pencils. The image was layered on papers from Echo Park The Story of Fall. I recently came upon a blog post whose creation included a set from Your Next Stamp .  I visited their shop and blog .... now I'm hooked! I joined their blog challenge  and was the lucky winner of a  gift certificate to the shop. My creation today includes  Mini Snorkel Fun Penguin (Isn't he adorable?!)  The image was embossed with  Black emboss powder from CTMH, colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut and adhered with foam tape. Papers are from Fancy Pants  Beach Babe paper pad. Verve sequins and machine stitching finish the card. Although we don't have penguins in Alaska, I thought Penguin Pete (AI Retired image) would work for this week's AI Challenge Winter Wonderland  as a fun calendar easel card. The stamp was embossed with CTMH Black embossing powder and colored with Copic marker then fussy cut. The snowy background was created using  the Country Landscape die from Memory Box.  I tore a couple of strips from  white cardstock then applied Stickles to the edge for snowy shimmer and dimension. I really couldn't pass up a chance to play with my Crafty Secrets goodies. I was also inspired by Kathy Clement's  recent inspiration using this set.   It's been a busy couple of weeks but I'm sneaking in a last  minute entry for the  May Crafty Secrets linky party . My card features an image from Crafty Secrets Down on the Farm set I really like how this turned out! The image was embossed with CTMH detail black emboss powder. The base panel was machine stitched. I replaced the thin horizontal strip on the sketch  with a fence die from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps. The fun sketch was inspired by the week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challnege #269 Thanks for stopping by! Today is New Release day at Bugaboo. The design team is featuring one of today's new images called Bunny Block Trio. The row of bunny blocks inspired me to use a card size of 6.50 x 3.25 for this card. The image was colored with Copic markers and several layers were added including a  swiss dot embossed layer.   The layout for this card was inspired by SC259 from Splitcoast Stampers. I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend! I'm stopping in to post a clean and simple Anniversary card that I created tonight for a very special couple.... my parents. I used an older set from Stampin' Up! called Summer by the Sea. I love using water colors with this set. I kept the design very clean and simple to focus on the watercolor sunset image. Bugaboo is celebrating their 4th Birthday this week! Day 2 is a Birthday Celebration Sketch . Here's my take on the sketch using the adorable " Birthday Penguin Gift ". The penguin was colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with baby oil.  The remainder of the image was colored with Copic Markers.  Stickles were applied to the cupcake icing and glaze to the cherry! The large dot embossing was created with a Cuttlebug emboss folder. I am also entering this card in the following: Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge:  Emboss It! For my Bingo, I chose to use a Bugaboo image, bling and no designer paper. I have also combined it with the Stella Says Sketch #201 . I hope you are having a fabulous Sunday! I am stopping in with a quick post for this week's Art Impressions Challenge - Perfect Papers. Our challenge is to use three pattern papers and/or textures. My card includes three patterned papers and several  different textures.  This "cool" little penguin is from Art Impressions called " Surfer Dude ". He was embossed with black embossing powder from  Close To My Heart and colored with Sakura glaze pens and Copic Markers. A layer of dimensional glaze was applied to the surfboard. The sun was die cut using fun foam!  Love the dimension it provides to the project. This bright, cheerful card is going to the  MD Anderson Cancer Center for patients and families.  The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness  and Splitcoast Stampers is hosting a card drive for MD Anderson. Happy Friday!  It's time again for the Friends with Flair blog hop sponsored by Unity Stamps.  Angela, owner of Unity, has had some fabulous sales and I recently got in on the "free set with purchase" sale.  One of the freebies was an itty bitty set called "Skip A Beat".  The bg panel was created using another freebie "Misplaced Chevron" and the emboss resist technique. Here's what I came up with: Isn't this such a fun image!  ( Shhh! It's a "White on White" blizzard over on the Sassy Cheryl Challenge blog this week! Sassy Judy is our hostess and she's given us a really fun challenge. I really like the effect of white on white, but rarely think to use this easy and effective technique. I couldn't resist using this sweet Sally image called "Sassy Sally Plays A Trick". The image is perfect for this snowy time of year. I also get a chuckle out of their expressions every time I color this image. I used the Cuttlebug snowflake emboss folder with a layer of Stampin' Up! Shimmer white card stock. It may be hard to see in the photo, but it does add a nice subtle shimmer. I added a few rhinestones to the snowflakes and used a Martha Stewart snowflake punch with white and silver card stock then adding a Memory Box snowflake jewel sticker to finish it off.
