This week Sassy Jeni set the theme with a color challenge over on the Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge blog . She has challenged us to use light blue and brown. I've combined this challenge with the CPS card sketch challenge for this week. I was really stumped on the color challenge until I remembered I had the Elegant Soiree Stampin' Up designer series paper in my stash. It was perfect for this challenge! Then I quickly went on a shopping spree and bought a new image called "Sassy Sally Weighs In" at Cheryl's digital store. A little sizing and paper piecing to create the following card. That is what I absolutely LOVE about digital images! Sally is so thin (and a little knobby-kneed) that I couldn't resist adding the sentiment "This calls for more chocolate" from a Cornish Heritage stamp set called "Weighty Matters". This week's challenge over on Mo's Digital Challenge blog is Stitching - faux or real. I enjoy machine stitching on my projects. It's an inexpensive and easy embellishment. I printing Mo's "Fishing" image for this card. Lot's of sponging with Memento inks and the image is colored with Copic markers. The wave die cut border is from The Cat's Pajamas. This is going to be a retirement congratulations card. Thus, the sign "hung out" that says "Gone Fishing". Thanks for taking a look! It's time again for another Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge ! Kim picked out a really fun inspiration photo from Pinterest again. I focused on the polka dots and colors for my card. I used "Perpetual Bliss" for this little card. The designer paper is from Echo Park For the Record paper stack. The rest of the cardstock is Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by! I decided to color this sweet "April Showers" digital image from the Sassy Cheryl shop. It was so fun to color. I've combined it with papers from the Basic Grey Indie bloom paper stack. Welcome to another week of sharing with Cheryl and all of the Sassette's! It's kind of fun to see what others have going. It doesn't have to be stamping either! Cheryl generously gives a free digital image to a random winner each week. Who could resist playing along?! This week I'm sharing a recent shopping spree at my LSS and a little peek at my Sassy Cheryl Challenge card for this week. You can also see a couple of recent cards in the background. I am squeaking in at the very last moment with my entry for this week's Sassy Cheryl Challenge! Luckily, I came back to check the challenge requirements last night and realized that a snow theme was required. Yikes! I had already printed this cutie "Sassy Sally Plays A Trick" so she seemed to fit the "snowy" requirement of the challenge. This was a really fun sketch. We find a lot of indoor hobbies and activities during the long winter in Alaska. My husband decided to start collecting train sets a few years ago. During one of our recent snow storms, he decided to set one of the trains up and give it a go. Here he is in our living room setting up the track and making sure that everything worked. It really was pretty neat! Another Winter activity this year is snow plowing. Gingersnap got to be the "helper" this day on the snow plow. She spotted something in the pine tree above her head just as I took the photo! She's quite the hunter! Ha! Thanks for stopping by to let me share what's been going on around my house! This time around, Kim found the following inspiration photo for the Sparks Challenge . There is tons of inspiration to be found with this word art photo. I decided to use the word art and rainbow colors to make the following CAS Birthday card. We have a young man in our church with a birthday coming up soon. I think this will be perfect! I'm really enjoying the Sparks challenges. It really makes me stretch my creativity and step outside my comfort zone sometimes. This week's challenge over on Mo's Digital Challenge Blog is "Anything Goes". I haven't used this sweet "Pineapple Girl" image for awhile and decided to merge her with a couple of images from Mo's "Beach Elements". I was excited at how easily I merged the images using Paint.net. The scene was colored with Copic markers and sponged with Memento ink. I'm not very happy with my application of Flower Soft for the sand. I guess I need a lot more practice! Finally, I used an MFT die-namics for the sun. Thanks for stopping by to take a look!

My husband and I ventured out into ZERO temperatures this afternoon to see the ice sculptures in down town Anchorage. Yes, that's me in the mummy coat and scarf! The Gallery of Ice competition took a Disney theme this year. We had to go check it out! This fun little ice "bowl" held children that could be spun around. They were having a blast.
