Stampin' In Alaska

  Happy Sunday!  I hope everyone is having a nice weekend and squeezing in a little crafty time. I'm joining the House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge with a cute Anniversary card.    I love using this sweet image from the Stampendous Spring Mini Clear Set for anniversary cards.  They look to me like a happy couple enjoying the evening. The image was colored with Tombow Markers then layered onto MME pattern paper and a variety of circle die cuts.  This was a fun design that used several "scrap" items from my stash.  The sentiment is a retired Stampin' Up! hostess set called Express Yourself.   I'm joining the current House-Mouse and Friends challenge with a Sparkly card featuring an image from the Stampendous House-Mouse Mini set.   The image was colored with Copic Markers and Prismacolor pencils.  Designer papers from My Mind's Eye Dolled Up paper pad were used for the various layers.  I have omitted a sentiment to be added when an occasion comes up. The pink glitter and rhinestone border was in my stash.  This was the perfect image and challenge to finally use it! I'm joining the current Art Impressions challenge with a fun Anniversary card.  The current challenge is Hugs & Kisses so I couldn't resist pulling out this image from the AI Love Birds set . Their shirt and dress were paper pieced with designer paper from MME Love Me paper pad.  The base panel is from the same pad.  I couldn't resist combining the "Love" page with this couple!  The images were colored with Copic markers and fussy cut. A lightly sponged stencil background, pearl earring and sequins finish the card.  To fit the "Love" sentiment, the finished card size is 6.25 x 5.  Bigger than my normal cards, but I really like the end result. I'm joining the current Theme and Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations.  I chose to play with the theme (my Favorite) COFFEE!  Sherry generously posted this Coffee and Roses Collage digital image as a give away earlier this year.  You can check the post HERE . I started by printing the image onto Stampin' Up! Whisper White card stock then colored with Copic Markers.   It has been layered onto SU Cameo Coral card stock and MME Breeze designer paper.   I finished by applying liquid applique for dimension.  A few pearls and Stampin' Up grosgrain ribbon finish the card. Graciellie Design is so excited to be joining Coffee Loving Cardmakers today on a blog hop featuring the new Coffee & Love digital set by Graciellie Design. This set features a fabulous coffee cup image and 5 coordinating sentiments.  Of course, I'm a coffee lover and this set made me smile all over!  Coffee AND gorgeous floral accents.  What more could I ask for? My card started by printing the coffee cup digital image onto Core' dinations white canvas card stock.  The image was water colored using a water brush with Tim Holtz distress inks in Wild Honey, Weathered Wood, Ground Espresso and Peeled Paint. The cup was fussy cut and layered onto designer papers from MME Sunshine paper pad with foam tape for dimension.  A partial doiley, gold cord and machine stitched border embellish the card.  Of course, the card was finished with one of the fabulous coordinating sentiments from the new set.  It was also p...

Happy Saturday!  Before I get to this week's challenge I have some really exciting news to share with you.  As some of you already know, Korin has closed the Sweet 'n Sassy digital challenge blog and made the really tough decision to focus on the clear stamp side of her business (which is booming!).  Since I was part of that digi team,  I have been asked to join the Sweet Stop Sugar Babies!  I am so excited to join this talented team of ladies. Can I share a secret with you?  I am a sketch challenge addict!  Almost every card that I create starts with a sketch in mind.  So, when I saw the fun sketch that Judy provided for this week's Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge , the creative juices started flowing. I have had this image on my workdesk for a couple of weeks.  So, this week I used Sam's Rainy Day for my project: I am including a close up of Sam and her paper pieced umbrella.  This is one of my current color combinations.  I have used various designer papers from My Mind's Eye Reunion paper pad.  Sam was colored with Copic Markers and shaded with General's charcoal pencil and blended.  The background was sponged with Memento ink.  This digital image has been retired, but due to overwhelming request, Cheryl is bringing back some of the retired images in sets.  You can find Sam in a set HERE . I'm so excited to be a guest designer for Jellypark Friends this month!  Claire has such adorable whimsical digital images.  I am really honored to be able to share and play along with the design team this month. This week's challenge is to create a tag or a project with a tag on it.  I have combined both of the new Jellypark release images for my project - A Tag and a Flower Shop.  The flower shop digi was colored with copic markers, fussy cut and layered with dimension tape on the new tag with ribbon image.  I have paper pieced the ribbon and applied dimension paint for the tag.  The papers are from the MME Dolled up paper stack. This week's challenge on Mo's Challenge Blog is "Friends".  I used the new "Laptop Baby" image and created my own sentiment "Wanna Skype".  I am a long distance from all of my family and friends so we use Skype a lot! The image was colored with Copic Markers with a Sakura shimmer pen applied to the fu-fu skirt.  The papers are from MME Lime Twist.  The sentiment was computer generated and cut out with Spellbinder banner dies.  Paper flowers from Shabby Chic and a leaf stick pin finish the card.
