My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #593

I'm playing along with this week's MFT sketch challenge featuring the adorable Penguins in Paradise.   The "water" was created using the MFT Wavy Lines stencil, Tim Holtz distress inks and Stickles for sparkle.  I used an old technique for the "sand" by tearing SU Creamy Caramel cardstock then inking lightly.   I stamped the palm tree on Creamy Caramel and Old Olive cardstock then fussy cut.  Images were colored with Copic Markers. I would like to share my card with the following: My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #593 Allsorts Challenge Blog:  #676 Add Some Sparkle Time Out Challenge: #213 On Vacation! Unity Friends with Flair and Sketch-N-Scrap #52

The week's seem to fly by and we are back to play along with Unity's Friends with Flair blog hop party. I made a promise to myself that I would scrapbook this year's vacation before  next year.  You smile, but pictures are still in  my drawer from our last two annual vacations! UGH! Unity kits and IttyBitty stamps have really inspired me to use more stamped images with my scrapbook layouts. Here's what I came up with this week. I can't believe how quickly it all went together! The following Unity stamp sets were used: Beautiful Place, Clear Head All day pass (to the beach) Epic Moments SMAK 6/13 Here's close up so you can see how beautifully the sun ray image from "Epic Moments" stamped on the Kraft: The sketch inspiration came from  Sketch~N~Scrap Challenge #52 : Thanks for stopping by for a closer look! Don't forget to leave a comment for your chance at winning Unity goodies. ...

Meljen's Designs Challenge #193 - A Sticky Situation

Welcome to a new Meljen's Design Challenge. This week were are challenging you to  a "Sticky Situation" - use stickers  on your project.  And don't forget to use one  of the fun images from the Meljen's Designs shop . It was a quick decision for me to combine this week's challenge with a fun vacation layout. Miscellaneous letter stickers (from my stash) and a couple of clear stickers were used in keeping with the challenge theme this week. Meljen's has several BEACH themed images so this was super easy to pull together. I printed the " Sand Castle COLOR " directly onto the designer paper.  I printed it again on white card stock and fussy cut the various sections of the castle.  I applied Flower Soft to the sandy edges and Stickles to the shells.  I adhered the pieces with foam tape to give dimension.  Hopefully, you can see that in the  following photos. I printed the " Summer Sun ...

Sassy Cheryl Show Me

I have missed out sharing for the past couple of weeks. My husband and I just got back from two weeks on the island of Maui. As some of you know, the Alaskan winter has been COLD and SNOWY this year! We were very glad to escape for a little while to warm sandy beaches. This was a sunset on the beach across the street from our condo. Maui has a fabulous swap meet/farmers market every Saturday in Kahului. The Meet is held on the grounds of their Community College and these gorgeous hibiscus bushes were along the entry way. The blooms were huge! Finally, I wanted Cheryl to know that I did manage to get in some coloring while on vacation. LOL! After a day at the beach I sat at the lanai window and colored some of the digital images I had printed and brought along. You may notice a sea shell sitting by my pencils. This was the only thing I could find in the condo to hold a small of amount of baby oil to use with the Prisma color pencils! I have a few more pictures to share, but wil...
