Happy Mother's Day with Hero Arts

I'm getting started on my Mother's Day card with this mixed media design featuring Hero Arts Protea Flowers set and an older Eucalyptus background stamp. I used an older (but effective) emboss resist technique for the base panel.  Hero Arts inks were blended over the embossing.  A piece of netting from my stash, gems, ribbon and a few sprig dies finish the card.  Of course, the protea was embossed and die cut simply. I would like share my card with the following: PIP #2411 Anything Goes We Love Stamping Challenge:  Feminine We Love to Create Mixed Media Challenge:  #2 Anything Goes  Polkadoodles Craft Challenge:  Week #10 Anything Goes

Unity Stamps Emboss Resist Let It Snow!

I've created a couple of snowy cards tonight. Both cards were stamped onto gloss photo paper from my stash.  I have several stacks of the photo paper that comes with printers.  Since I never print photos I decided to experiment with ink blending and stamping tonight.   The first card was created using the emboss resist technique and stamps from Unity Stamp Company.  The second was ink blended then stamped with Versafine Black ink.  Various distress inks were used for the base. Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero - April Blend It Up

I'm sneaking in a last minute entry for the April Hero Art Stay Crafty Challenge with ink blending.  My card features the April JoAnn's Make Yourself at Home Hero Arts Card Kit. I started by stamping, embossing then ink blending the Eucalyptus Bold Prints background stamp.  The protea flower image was stamped and layered onto vellum and card stock circle dies.  The bee stamps, sequins and thread finish the card. My Favorite Things Camp Create Day 3: Emboss Resist

I'm joining Day 3 of Camp Create with an emboss resist background featuring the MFT Radiating Rays stencil and The Whole Herd stamp set. I started by using versafine with the stencil and heat embossing white powder.  I used my Gelli Arts plate for the ink resist with several Tim Holtz distress inks. Of course, I finished the card with a small herd of cows, a fun birthday sentiment and a few enamel dots. Stay Crafty With Hero Challenge: #14 Critters

I pulled out the June 2020 MMH kit to play along with the current critters challenge.  I absolutely LOVE this kit!  Of course, I had to purchase this kit since it's perfect for Alaska! I started with a distress ink base then embossed the borealis cling stamp.  The emboss resist technique is perfect for this background.  I used the Hero Arts blue reactive ink on the edges.   The critters (whale & eagle) were embossed and die cut.  To finish the scene, I die cut the light house which came with the set.  It is difficult to see in the photo, but I applied vellum to the lighthouse to represent light rays. Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge: #13 Creativebug Inspiration

The current Hero Arts challenge asks us to find inspiration on the Creativebug website.  Libby is the hostess of a 31-day Hero Arts series showcasing different stamping techniques.  I chose Day 22 - Emboss Resist - for my design. I started by stamping the borealis background stamp from the June 2020 MMH kit onto a panel of Hero Arts lavender card stock.  It was then heat embossed with clear detail powder.  I followed by sponging over the embossing with Wilted Violet and Dusty Concord distress inks.  I finished with lightly sponging Black Soot distress ink around the edges. I stamped the whale tail and spout (from the same kit) in VersaClaire black and heat embossed with clear powder.  It was die cut and layered with a coordinating sentiment on the card.  I finished with a few sequins. This card was also inspired by Libby's FB challenge to use her favorite color PURPLE!  Happy Birthday Libby! I would like to share my card with the f...

My Favorite Things Camp Create - Day 2 Remarkable Resist

I'm back with Day 2 of Camp Create with My Favorite Things.  Counselor Barbara demonstrated a great emboss resist technique for Day 2.  My card started by stamping poppies from MFT's retired Pretty Poppies set and embossing with white powder.  I water colored the panel with distress inks then applied ink directly around the poppies. I recently ordered the MFT Prayers die-namic and it worked perfectly with this set and sentiment. I'm sharing my card with the following: Simon Says Wednesday:  Make Your Own Background MFT Camp Create - Day 2 Remarkable Resist Word Art Wednesday- #396 - #397 Anything Goes

Unity - Friday Friends with Flair and {be Inspired} Challenges

Happy Friday! It's been a long week for me. I was so glad to come home  and have some crafty time tonight. Of course, I had to play along with Unity's Friends with Flair today. My card features  Camera Ready SMAK 2/14 and Happy Happy Anniversary I used the emboss resist technique with the image from Camera Ready . The entire panel was then sponged with Rose Bud and Angel Pink Memento inks.  A few gems and it was done! The card size is 6.5 by 3.5. It's always nice to have an extra Anniversary card on hand. Of course, my layout inspiration came from this month's Unity {be Inspired} sketch : Be sure to check out the fabulous sales going on at Unity this weekend. It's Angela's birthday and she's celebrating big! Don't forget to leave a comment for your chance at randomly winning a fabulous Unity Prize. Thanks for stopping by! Happy Friday!  It's time again for the Friends with Flair blog hop sponsored by Unity Stamps.  Angela, owner of Unity, has had some fabulous sales and I recently got in on the "free set with purchase" sale.  One of the freebies was an itty bitty set called "Skip A Beat".  The bg panel was created using another freebie "Misplaced Chevron" and the emboss resist technique.
