Art Impressions - Road Trip

I'm having so much fun as Guest Designer for Art Impressions this month!  Today I'm sharing a clean and simple design featuring Art Impressions 4931 - Road Trip Set .   I began this card by ink blending with Tim Holtz Distress inks - Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch.  Two of the buildings from the set were stamped with Versamark ink and wet embossed with white embossing powder. The group of lady travelers were stamped, colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut then adhered with dimension tape.  The finished panel was layered onto Stampin' Up! Night of Navy card stock.  A few enamel dots and coordinating sentiment finish the card. Tropical Anniversary Wishes

This is a special Anniversary card going to my cousin and his wife.  They will be celebrating their 5th Wedding Anniversary and just returned from Cozumel, Mexico where they honeymooned.   My clean and simple design features a lovely beach scene from Stampendous called Beachfront Boat N234.  It was stamped and heat embossed on water color paper.  I used distress ink, Tombow markers and Hero Arts Reactive inks to water color the scene.  A sentiment from Hero Arts and Stickles on the water completes the card. My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #593

I'm playing along with this week's MFT sketch challenge featuring the adorable Penguins in Paradise.   The "water" was created using the MFT Wavy Lines stencil, Tim Holtz distress inks and Stickles for sparkle.  I used an old technique for the "sand" by tearing SU Creamy Caramel cardstock then inking lightly.   I stamped the palm tree on Creamy Caramel and Old Olive cardstock then fussy cut.  Images were colored with Copic Markers. My Favorite Things Sketch and Color Challenge

I'm back in the craft room after a much needed winter break!  We took a few days to visit Cancun Mexico.  The sun, warm weather and ocean were so relaxing!   Today I created a fun ocean scene for the sketch and color challenges at My Favorite Things.  My card features the adorable Best Catch Ever CS-575 . The whale image was colored with alcohol markers and fussy cut.  The background was created by inking a Hero Arts bubble background stamp with distress ink then spritzing with water.  I then stamped onto water color paper and let dry.  Love the fun effect! Papers and sentiment are from MFT.  A few gems finish the card. Gina K Designs Monthly Mix Challenge - December

I'm sneaking in a last minute entry for the December Monthly Mix Challenge at Gina K Designs.  This month's challenge is ink blending.   I love the ease and versatility of Gina K Foil-Mates and they worked perfectly for this challenge.  I foiled a sentiment from the Birthday Best foil mates then inked the edges.  The Hot Dots panel was foiled the ink blended with Tim Holtz distress inks - Seedless Preserves, Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet. Of course, I finished the card with some yummy Gina K. Designs Gingham Fancy Ribbon. My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch #555 and Slimline Challenges

I'm playing along with the current sketch and slimline challenges at My Favorite Things.  I pulled out Birdie Brown's Sweater Weather in the Woods set for a Fall themed slimline design. The fun critters were stamped onto water color paper and colored with Tombow markers.  The card base was masked and inked with several distress inks for the cloudy sky.  I layered the MFT Farm Fence die and Sugar Pea birch die to complete the scene. Create A Smile Moodboard Challenge

I'm joining the current challenge at Create A Smile with a fun summer card.  My card features the adorable Pig Out set and Bubble Rays stencil . I started by inking the stencil with several distress inks.  The pig image was colored with Copic markers, fussy cut and adhered with an action wobble.  I finished the card with a fun sentiment from the set. HMFMC # 343 Anything goes + the option of Make it Small.

I'm joining the current House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge with the option of Make it Small.  For my project I started with an image from the House Mouse Designs Spring Mini Clear set and a tag. I began the tag base with my gelli plate and acrylic inks.  I then added a couple of layers with various distress inked stenciling.  The image was stamped directly to the tag with VersaClaire ink and colored with Copics.  The bottom border is washi tape from my stash. I finished the tag with a retired Verve Scripture stamp on white tissue paper.  I trimmed the tissue close to the sentiment and applied it with matte gel.  Fibers from my stash coordinated perfectly for the tassel. Art Impressions Challenge - Under the Sea

I'm joining the current AI challenge - Under the Sea - with this sweet turtle image.  This was a 2020 Freebie with purchase.  I was lucky enough to receive it from another AI fan who had a duplicate!  Isn't he SO cute?! For my mini slimline design, I started the scene by using distress inks on my gelli plate with spritzed water.  The "rays" were stenciled with distress ink.  I used an older technique, shared by Janet Axtman , for the "sand" using torn card stock .  I found the coral and seaweed stickers in my stash.   I attached an actual tiny star fish from my stash as well.  I'm really pleased with how this turned out.  It will go into my stash for that special "someone". Di's Digi Challenge - Make It Monochrome

I'm joining the current Monochromatic challenge at Di's Digi.  I was inspired by Di's adorable blog inspiration to "be brave" and use shades of pink on my project.  This sweet digi was a recent freebie from Di through Kit and Clowder called Party Animal. I had so much fun coloring this image with various alcohol markers in shades of pink.  The cloudy sky was masked and sponged with distress inks.  Pink gingham from my scrap pile was used to paper piece the balloons.  A few enamel dots and birthday sentiment from Stampin' Up finish the 4.25 square card. A Blog Named Hero: February Anything Goes

Hero Arts recently released their 2021 Catalogue products.  I saw a sneak peek of the new Lily Pond HeroScape and it went onto on Wish List!   I love how you can easily create a fun scene with all of the HeroScape sets.  This one is no exception! I started by creating a blended distress ink "sky" base panel.  I used my Misti to create the lily pond scene. Various Tim Holtz distress inks were used:  Mermaid Lagoon for the water, Mowed Lawn & Forest Moss for the lily pads, Memento Lulu Lavender and Lilac Posies for the flowers. Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #298 Anything "Mo" Goes

I'm sharing an Anniversary card with the current Mo's Digital Challenge featuring one of my favorite Mo Manning images - Tom and Tilly . The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with baby oil.  I fussy cut the image and layered it with dimension foam onto a galaxy background.   I experimented with the "grass" by layering various sizes of die cut circles.  It's difficult to see, but I like the effect and will try it again! Stay Crafty With Hero Challenge: #14 Critters

I pulled out the June 2020 MMH kit to play along with the current critters challenge.  I absolutely LOVE this kit!  Of course, I had to purchase this kit since it's perfect for Alaska! I started with a distress ink base then embossed the borealis cling stamp.  The emboss resist technique is perfect for this background.  I used the Hero Arts blue reactive ink on the edges.   The critters (whale & eagle) were embossed and die cut.  To finish the scene, I die cut the light house which came with the set.  It is difficult to see in the photo, but I applied vellum to the lighthouse to represent light rays. Your Next Stamp Challenge: #147 Keeping it Clean and Simple

I'm joining the current Clean and Simple challenge at YNS featuring a retired silhouette image called Home Sweet Home.  The Scripture stamp is from Sweet 'n Sassy's Friendship is a Blessing set. I started by blending a few distress inks then spritzing with water.  The images were stamped using my Misti and VersaClaire black ink.  This card will be donated to a nursing home in my hometown.  The nurses requested birthday cards with Scripture to give to the residents on their birthdays. Di's Digi Challenge - For the Girls

We were able to get away for a weekend camping trip over Labor Day.  Of course, I packed my Copic Markers and a few images to color.  This is from Di's Digi called Koala.  I think it was a freebie that Di gave away this winter.  It's a cutie and the first time I've colored it. The image was colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut and layered onto a distress ink background.  You can also (barely) see a vellum circle behind her.  A few sequins and Scripture from Verve Stamps (retired) finish the card. Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge: #13 Creativebug Inspiration

The current Hero Arts challenge asks us to find inspiration on the Creativebug website.  Libby is the hostess of a 31-day Hero Arts series showcasing different stamping techniques.  I chose Day 22 - Emboss Resist - for my design. I started by stamping the borealis background stamp from the June 2020 MMH kit onto a panel of Hero Arts lavender card stock.  It was then heat embossed with clear detail powder.  I followed by sponging over the embossing with Wilted Violet and Dusty Concord distress inks.  I finished with lightly sponging Black Soot distress ink around the edges. I stamped the whale tail and spout (from the same kit) in VersaClaire black and heat embossed with clear powder.  It was die cut and layered with a coordinating sentiment on the card.  I finished with a few sequins. This card was also inspired by Libby's FB challenge to use her favorite color PURPLE!  Happy Birthday Libby! I would like to share my card with the f...
