Bugaboo Wednesday Tutorial - DIY Enamel Dots

Good morning! Bugaboo hosts a tutorial on the Catch The Bug Challenge blog on the last Wednesday of the month. This month I get to share an easy project with you! Do It Yourself Enamel Dots I really like the look of the enamel dots that have been so popular recently. With limited craft stores in my area  it was fabulous to find to a way to make my own enamel dots. I started with a small package of Pony Beads and Perlerbeads. I did a quick Google search and found several instructional videos.  The instruction I found for the perlerbeads recommended using a 275 degree oven for 30 - 35 minutes. They seemed to melt very easily for me. I started by lining a small aluminum cookie sheet with parchment paper and spaced the beads out to allow for spread  while melting. After the beads have melted to the desired size let them cool. I used a plastic Pampered Chef scrapper to gently scrape  them off of the parchmen...

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge - Anything Goes

I haven't had a chance to play along with the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge for a few weeks due to design team committments and plain old life. Today this little card came to me and I decided it would work for this week's Anything Goes Challenge. The image panel was water colored with Tim Holtz Distress reinkers. The fish image is from Paper Smooches Stamps " Birthday Buddies ",  colored with Copic Markers and highlighted with yellow Wink of Stella brush. Of course, I had to add a googlie eye  to the fish image! Thanks for stopping by!  I always enjoy reading your comments.

Unity Friends with Flair

Happy Friday and Happy Memorial Day Weekend! I am posting a quick scrapbook layout for this week's Friends With Flair blog hop . I recently ordered several Unity kits that are perfect for scrapbooking or cards. This page uses images from the 2/14 SMAK " Camera Ready ". I have also used Unity's " My View of You ". The layout is from this month's Unity {be Inspired} Challenge : I am sadly so far behind on my scrapbooking projects. I took these photos of our pups recently and knew that this month's challenge layout would be perfect!   It's so unusual to catch them together AND standing stil for a photo. Our older pup - Bud is 12 years and 3 months old. The younger female chocolate - Gingersnap is 4 years old. They LOVE going to the dogpark... playing ball and swimming in the lake! Thanks for stopping by!  Don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win some Unity goodies.

May Crafty Secrets Linky Party

Good morning! I hope everyone is having a good week. We have had beautiful weather in Anchorage and received much needed rainfall yesterday. The trees and grass are so much greener today! Anywhoo ~ I'm stopping in this morning with a project I've had in mind for awhile. Crafty Secrets hosts a linky party on the  first Monday of each month. So, this was the perfect opportunity to make a clothespin bag. I'm one of those odd people who enjoy hanging out my laundry (weather permitting!) (sorry for the poor display!)   I started by sewing the muslin bag. I actually saved the the hanger from my  previous (store bought) clothespin bag. >DH helped with the grommets.< I printed the bird image (sized it 6x6) from Crafty Secrets Illustrations CD #2 onto an Iron-on transfer sheet, cut it down and ironed it directly to the muslin bag. I added Stickles to the edge of the  transfer and a large fabric flower to...
