Art Impressions Challenge - Yellow

I'm joining the current Art Impressions challenge to use the color yellow.  I was a recent winner at Art Impressions and chose Kim Hein's adorable Song Birds and Feeders Set.   The image was stamped with my Misti which gave easy alignment for the bird landing on the birdbath.  I used Strathmore watercolor paper and colored with a blender and Tombow markers. The image was die cut with Spellbinder circle and scallop circle dies.  Cardstock from Stampin' Up! - Basic Grey and More Mustard frame the image.  Seam tape ribbon, dry embossed designer paper from Graphic45, gems and leaf dies from Verve Stamps accent the card.  The sentiment is also from Art Impressions. Hero Arts Stay Crafty Challenge: Opposites Attract

The April Stay Crafty Challenge with Hero Arts is Opposites Attract - Opposite Colors or Mirror Image .  I chose to create a project by using opposite colors from the color wheel - Orange and Blue. I started by stamping the Hero Arts Antique Rose (2017) woodblock stamp onto watercolor paper.  I used various mediums to watercolor the image - Tombow marker and distress ink with Stickles applied to the center.  The image was fussy cut and layered onto designer papers from the Basic Grey Marrakech Paper Pad.  Layers of vellum die cuts, orange netting, gems and a sentiment finish the card. My Favorite Things Sketch #664

I'm sharing a Fall themed card for this week's sketch challenge at My Favorite Things.  I pulled out a favorite set designed by Birdie Brown called Sweater Weather in the Woods.  The image was water colored with Tombow markers and the sweater was paper pieced.  A few gems were applied for the buttons.   The sentiment is from MFT Happy Pumpkin Season.  A retired Stampin' Up! French Script background stamp was applied to the base panel with VersaMark ink.  It provides a very subtle texture which I thought finished the project off nicely. All card stock and designer papers are from Gina K.  I'm currently on a "mission" to use papers from my stash for my projects.  I LOVE beautiful papers and tend to hoard them for just the right project! :) I would like to share my card with the following: My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #664 Simon Says Stamp Wednesday:  Background Stamp   Allsorts Challenge:  #747 Four-Legged Friends ...

Art Impressions Challenge #360 Fall into Fall

Happy Saturday!  I hope everyone gets a few minutes to be crafty this weekend. I'm joining the current Fall challenge at Art Impressions with a Fall water color scene.  I recently purchased the adorable Art Impressions Elephant on a Bike (discontinued) stamp on a stamp swap website.  He's SO cute and really looks happy for Fall to arrive. I started by printing the Polkadoodles digital Country Road Scene background onto water color paper.  Water color crayons were applied then water colored for the scene.  It's hard to see in the photo, but the crayons have a slight shimmer which is really fun. The elephant image was stamped onto the scene and embossed then water colored as well.  A sentiment from Unity Stamps complete the 4.25 square card.
