Art Impressions Challenge #181 - Add a Brad

The current Art Impressions challenge to include a brad had me searching through drawers  for my brads!  My card features the fun Cathy Caffeine Set  with her slightly oversized cup of coffee. (some days I feel like Cathy!) The image was stamped onto Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake card stock and colored with Prismacolor pencils.  The pencil was blended with baby oil and a blending stump. LOTS of layers and LOTS of machine stitching. The sentiment is "hanging" by a brad. I'm also using this week's color challenge from Hiding in My Craft Room #255 I'm also sharing my card with the following: Word Art Wednesday:  #224 - 225 Anything Goes   Little Claire's Designs:  #67 Anything Goes Crafty Friends Challenge:  #28 Anything Goes  Brown Sugar Challenge:  #192 Anything Goes  Simon Says Wednesday Challenge:  Anything Goes

Unity Friends With Flair

Happy Friday to all of my FWF friends! I'm posting a last minute card for this week's Unity  Friends With Flair. The precious image is one of Phyllis Harris' newest called .... we just need someone If you don't have this set yet you can buy it this weekend for only $10! I must say that this is my favorite design so far that Phyllis has released. The image was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink onto Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake cardstock and colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with baby oil. The background was sponged using a sunburst stencil from My Favorite Things. I LOVE how this turned out! Here is a close up of the colored image. I kept the design clean and simple to focus on the  adorable image and sentiment. Thanks for stopping by!  Don't forget to leave a comment for your chance at winning a fabulous Unity prize. I'm also sharing with the following: Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Chall...

Bugaboo Catch the Bug BINGO Challenge

Happy Saturday and welcome to this week's Catch the Bug Challenge. This week we have a fun BINGO challenge for you. Here's what I created featuring Bugaboo's Puppy Love - heart string   I have used twine, a Bugaboo image  a handmade embellishment from the BINGO challenge. This sweet pup image was colored using the   Gamsol Magic technique .  Except I used baby oil with my Prismacolor pencils rather than Gamsol.  I really like the finished look. I made my own enamel dot using Pony Beads. You can find a quick tutorial post HERE . The digital sentiment is from  Create with TLC . We look forward to seeing what you come up with! Be sure and check out the store here for some great images!  Please post your project to Catch the Bug , by 8/23/14 at 6:00 AM EST to be entered a random drawing for three digi prize packs – )  10 free images ( using a Bugaboo image only ),  seven (7), or four (4) u...

There She Goes Challenge #171

Good morning!  I am posting a quick card for this week's sketch challenge over on There She Goes blog.  Below is this week's sketch provided by Kim: Here is what I came up with using TSG " Scent-sational " set: I kept my card pretty CAS and colored the sweet little skunk image using Prismacolor pencils and baby oil.  This set has some really adorable "Scent-timents" to go along with the cute skunk images.  Of course, skunks are not one of my favorite animals.  But Melyssa has created a group of cute skunk images that are hard to resist! The image and sentiment were layered on Stampin' Up! Riding Hood Red, basic black and Georgia Pacific White is the base.  I added machine stitching for the base panel border. Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!  Hope you have a great Friday!

Mo's Digital Challenge #140 - Masculine

This week on Mo's Challenge Blog , the Design Team has challenged us to use a masculine theme with our Mo Manning image in our projects.  I decided to make a Clean and Simple design with Mo's " Lazy Mutts " image.  This actually comes with three pup images and they are all adorable! Here's my card: The pup was colored using Prismacolor pencils, blending stumps and baby oil.  I received a comment recently asking me to explain the combination.  Below is a photo of the products which I used.  Some people call this the "Gamsol Magic" technique.  I found that baby oil gave the same blending effect and was much cheaper and accessible to me.  If you are interested in trying this technique you can check out the tutorial HERE on Splitcoast Stampers. I have also added a few score lines to the image panel to provide some dimension.   This card also qualifies for the following: Mark's Finest Papers Challenge to use scorelines. Tuesday Alchemy ...
