Stampin' In Alaska

  Happy Friday!  I hope everyone gets a little crafty time this weekend. I'm joining the current challenge at Di's Digi -  Animals Acting Like Humans . There are so many fun images in Di's Etsy Shop that are perfect for this week's theme.  I was a recent challenge winner at Di's and chose this cutie called Buddy in the Garden .  Be sure to check him out while he's on sale! My card was printed onto X-Press It card stock and colored with Copic Markers.  I tried a "new to me" technique by using various brown ink and randomly applying it in dots.  In retrospect, I should have used a darker base color.  But live and learn! The image was die cut with Spellbinders Petite Large Oval and layered onto an oval lacey cross stitch cloth.  It has been sitting on my craft desk for months waiting for the right project!  A few paper flowers and Stampin' Up Designer Paper finish the card. My mixed media card features this week's free Scripture digital file II Chronicles 15:7.   I'm joining the current Art Impressions challenge with a fun Front-n-Back design.  My card features a couple of retired stamps from the AI Fronts-n-Backs line.  This group of critters always makes me smile! I don't create scene cards very often, but I had so much fun with this design.  Of course, I stamped the AI images and fussy cut them.  The sky designer paper is from Memory Box (old), the tall grass die is also Memory Box.  I added the cloud and sun die from Spellbinders.  I finished the card with a few sequined flowers from Jolee's and inside sentiment from My Favorite Things. I'm joining the current challenge at Art Impressions with a Get Well card featuring the AI Doggy Kisses set .  The current challenge is to use circular elements in your project.  My focal image was die cut with Spellbinders circle dies then layered onto Co'ordinations dotted designer paper. The image was colored with Copic markers and the background sponged with Dandelion Memento ink. This week's challenge on the There She Goes Challenge Blog is to create using circles. I used a circle designer paper from the new Bo Bunny "Hello Sunshine" paper stack.  The main image was cut with Spellbinder circle nestibilities and is from TSG's " Puppy Love " set. I'm having so much fun with the adorable images and sweet sentiments included in this set.  The image was colored with Copic Markers.  The birthday sentiment is computer generated. I'm back with a second post tonight!  I am taking advantage while the mojo is flowing. :) This week's sketch over on the Sweet Stop blog is really fun and versatile. I turned the sketch horizontally for my version.  Since Father's Day is just around the corner, I used the new Sweet 'n Sassy set " Timeless Classic " by Dina Kowal.  This set is full of images which are perfect for my uncle who is a collector of antique auto's. Here's what I came up with: The base cardstock is Stampin' Up! Basic Grey and the designer paper is Frances Meyer.  I used my new Paper Studio star embossing folder for the circle panel.  The circles were cut out using Spellbinder Nestibilities.  I colored the vintage car with Copic Marker Buttercup Yellow.  I added a few metal "screw" brads to finish off the masculine look! Elaine has asked us to create something "weather-related" with our Mo Manning digital images.  I know that most of the lower 48 is having hot temperatures which are perfect for this sweet image.  Alaska, not so much, but it's early yet in our summer! This is what I came up with using " Lacie ".  Lacie and her ice cream cone were colored with Copic markers.  The tree was created with a Spellbinder Nestibilities scalloped circle die.  The grass was cut using my new Memory Box Grassland Border.  Of course, I added a little bling to Lacie's sun glasses and Stickles to her ice cream cone. I'm back with a second post for tonight.  Wow, the inspiration is rolling so I'm going with it! Okay, at first I thought the There She Goes challenge this week dealt with wine!  Um, no this week's trendsetter - Karen has challenge us to use Cork with our TSG images. I love using texture on my cards and cork is a really fun texture to use in many ways.  I have never stamped on cork, so I thought "I wonder what it would look like to stamp directly on the cork".  Well, I stamped the pup on the cork directly and colored with Copic Markers.  The little girl image was paper pieced and colored with Copic Markers as well.  Both images are from There She Goes " Puppy Love " set.  I love anything dog themed so this set is perfect! I distressed and inked the edges of the base panels then machine stitched.  I have to say that I'm pleased with the results!  This card really took on a life of it's own as my original idea was nothing like this....

It's another week of challenges on the Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge Blog . Sassy Peggy is our hostess this week and she's "Thinking Spring". When I think of Spring I think of gardening. What better image to represent Spring gardening than Farmer Sally! This is such a sweet image and so fun to color. I've used Prismacolor pencils and baby oil for part of the image. The remainder was colored with Copic Markers. Machine stitching has been added to a few of the layers. The main image was cut with Spellbinders Wonky Rectangles die cut and sponged. The designer papers are from the October Afternoon Farm Fresh paper stack. The base cardstock is Stampin' Up! Close to Cocoa and Wild Wasabi. Thanks for taking a look! The Sassy Cheryl Digi Stamp Challenge blog is celebrating their 100th challenge this week. Wow! Sassy Jeni has challenged us to use a punch and something shimmery with our Sassy Cheryl images. I knew immediately that I wanted to make something special for the 100th challenge. I used one of Cheryl's newer Sally images called "You Are My Sunshine-Sally" for this scrapbook page. I'm a little rusty, but it felt really good to put together this page with my niece using Sassy Sally as an embellishment! The Sassy Sally image was colored using Copic Markers with Stickles added for Shimmer. The Kraft border was made with a Martha Stewart Punch. The grass and cloud border were made with Cut ups die cuts from The Cat's Pajamas. The "sun" was made with Spellbinder Nestibilities die - Inverted Scalloped and Standard Circle. The last challenge of 2011 for the Sassy Cheryl Digi Blog is to use a snowman and a die cut. I must say that I've had a lot of fun playing with this Sassy Sally image called " Sassy Sally Plays A Trick ". You can find tons of fun Sally images over on Cheryl's digital shop! The digital image of Sally and the snowman were colored with Copic markers. I used Spellbinders Lacey Circles nestibilities to cut out the image. I also used a Sizzix snowflake die cut and a Martha Stewart snowflake punch. I'm not sure who will receive this little snowy card. Most of my family are in areas that haven't gotten any snow. Or if they did, it's melted and long gone! This snowy pair of characters is so cute that it will be sure to put a smile on anyone's face this winter!! Thanks for stopping by today! Happy Thanksgiving! Welcome to another week of sharing over on the Sassy Cheryl blog. If you're new the "Show Me" game, you can check out the details HERE . Well, this week I thought I would show my ongoing project of organizing my Spellbinder Nestibilities. A few months ago I bought about 40 clear-mount stamp cases from Stampin' Up! As you can see, I can fit two full sets in the case (and labels). Would you believe that the hardest part of the project has been finding magnet sheets?! Who-da-thought? The blue box in the photo above shows how I have been storing all of my Spellbinders. The photo below shows them labeled, in the clear storage cases and neatly (visibly) on my desk shelf. Whew! Well, it's that time of the week again Sassy Cheryl fans! Time to share what project we've been working on during the week. It's been a busy week at my house but I've managed to make a couple of cards. The card on my workspace is for the weekly My Favorite Things sketch on Splitcoast. They always post such fun (and challenging) sketches. My other ongoing project is my Spellbinder die storage. You can see how I am currently storing them .... in a box and in their original packaging. Well, every time I want to use a die I have to pull them ALL out of the box and look through them to find the one I want to use. Very annoying! So, I attended an A Muse Studios party a couple of weeks ago. The demonstrator stored her dies in the A Muse clear stamp storage boxes. They're like CD boxes and can hold two die sets. I have one filled on my desk using magnets. I am still experimenting and I may need wider magnets. Anyway, I hope to label each storage case and store ...

This week's challenge over on Mo's Challenge Blog is courtesy of Pat Frank. Pat has challenged us to use a "Bit of Green" on our projects this week. This sweet image has been on my Wish List for some time now. I decided that I deserved a little shopping this weekend and bought "Strawberry Girl" . Her strawberries and flowers have the "bit of green", along with, the adorable October Afternoon designer papers. The digital image was colored with Prisma Pencils and baby oil. This week over on the Sassy Cheryl Digi Stamp Blog our challenge is a snowy theme. I decided to use Cheryl's adorable skating snowman that you find over on the Paper Craft Planet forum. This was my first attempt using the Cricut limited edition Lacey Snowflakes cartridge. I really like how the individual snowflakes turned out. There are tons of detailed snowflakes to choose from on this cartridge! I used Basic Grey's Jack Frost dp as a base, added the Cricut snowflakes, colored the snowman with copics and applied SU Iridescent Ice embossing powder for some sparkle.
