Monochromatic Hello

Good morning!  I'm sharing a group of monochromatic designs that will be going out to the Send Senior Citizens Love card drive hosted by Splitcoast Stampers .   I was touched after reading Ashley Lynch's story and how she began the program during the pandemic and lockdown of so many nursing homes.  She began sending notes of encouragement personally which is now a nationwide mission. This group of cards began with my large stack of paper scraps.  All papers are from Stampin' Up! Flirty Flamingo and Peach Parfait. The word dies are Spellbinder  Hello Smile.  Cuttlebug embossing folders were used for the base panel.  A little thread and gems from my stash finish the cards. I would like to share my cards with the following: Allsorts Challenge:  #849 Monochromatic Simon Says Stamp Wednesday:  Use Craft Dies Word Art Wednesday:  Anything Goes PIP #2619 Anything Goes

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge #402 AG w/Option of Rainbow

I have a quick Thanksgiving themed card for this week's House-Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge.  My card features the adorable Mice Landing (1994) wood mounted image from House-Mouse Designs/Stampabilities. The embossed base panel is an older folder from Cuttlebug.  I felt that the embossing "spoke" for itself and needed minimal embellishment.  Only a few enamel dots and fall colors. I would like to share my card with the following: House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge #402 AG  Simon Says Stamp Wednesday:  Emboss It  Paper Funday Challenge:  #59 Grateful, Thankful, Thank you

Art Impressions Challenge #354 Embossing

The current challenge at Art Impressions is embossing - dry or wet.  My card features a set from the AI Laugh Lines called Never Too Old Laugh Lines .  I love Bonnie's people images... you can almost hear this sassy lady saying "Happy 29th Birthday... from your 110lb friend!"  The image was stamped onto X-press It card stock and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The embossed image was colored with alcohol markers and fussy cut. The image was adhered with foam tape to a dry embossed page using a Cuttlebug numbers emboss folder.  She has been framed with a Stylish Rectangle Trio die cut from Memory Box.  I finished the card simply with a sentiment from the same set. Below is a photo of the card set: I layered all of the photos on card stock that brought out the colors of the rose.  I kept the card base simple with a swissdot emboss so as not to distract from the photo.  I included a variety of sentiments for various occasions.    I loved how this r...

Bugaboo Birthday Bash Challenge Week - Add Texture

Today is the final day for the Bugaboo Birthday Bash Challenges .  We were asked to use the Friday Freebie image and add texture.  Here's what I came up with using the Freebie: I decided to keep the design pretty simple and focus on the fun Word Art collage image.  This week has been all about Bugaboo's Birthday so I tried to focus on the "Party" in the image.  I have added texture with Stickles, rhinestones, glossy accents and dry embossing. Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!  Happy Birthday Bugaboo!

Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge #84 - Tag You're It!

It's finally Friday and that means it's time for a new Sweet 'n Sassy Digi challenge!  Our challenge this week is to create a tag or use a tag on your project.  This was a tough challenge for me, but I printed out two fun Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Stamp sets and had a lot of fun. I used the pre-colored version of " Eskimo Kisses " and all three sentiments from " Eskimo Kisses Sentiments " digi stamp sets.  I added liquid applique to the main image for some dimension.  I created pockets with two of the card panels so that I could tuck little message tags into the card front.  The tags were created using the Museum Tag die from Memory Box.  The tags were also dry embossed using Cuttlebug snowflake and swissdot emboss folders.  I finished the square panels with machine stitching and a couple of pearls. This close up shows one of the tags partially tucked into a pocket.  Also, you can see how nicely the pre-colored image prints.  This feature...

You can find the Friends of Sweet 'n Sassy Blog Hop HERE or simply scroll down. Wow, has another week already gone by?!  And 2012 is quickly coming to a close as well! Well, it's Friday again and that means it's time for another Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge.  This week the challenge is "Interior Decorating" - decorate your card inside and out.  This is something that I really wish I could do with every card.  I am usually so focused on the outside that I forget the recipient will be also looking at the inside!  So, here is what I came up with this week:  This is the outside view. This is the inside view. My window view was created with the Memory box Grand Madison Window die.  A panel was dry embossed using a Cuttlebug folder and the sentiment panels were die cut using Spellbinder Fancy Tags.  I used a Sweet 'n Sassy Digital Stamp called " Snow Friends " for the interior and the sentiment came from the new " Eskimo Kisses...

I'm back with a second post tonight! There She Goes is celebrating their 4th year in business with a week of challenges. The challenge for Day 2 is to create something for the man/boy in our life and a birthday theme, of course. Here's what I came up with using "Float My boat" set: This cute little image is so sweet!  I used Copic Markers to color the image and sponged Memento inks for the sky and water.  The base was dry embossed using a Cuttlebug Spots embossing folder.  The base panels were machine stitched and dewdrops were added.  Finally, a birthday sentiment was added. Happy Birthday to There She Goes!

Happy Birthday to There She Goes!

Sweet n Sassy Challenges

This week's Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge (SNSDC68) is to use the following photo as inspiration for our project: I chose to focus on the color combination from the inspiration photo and used this week's sketch provided by The Sweet Stop challenge (SSS173): I created my Thanksgiving card using the sketch horizontally.  I used the Sweet 'n Sassy digital image " Butterfly and Flower " to create my card below: I used card stock from Stampin' Up:  Apricot Appeal, Pumpkin Pie and Very Vanilla.  The digital image was printed twice and the butterfly was cut out and popped up for dimension.  Cinnamon Stickles was applied to the flower center.  The vanilla panels were dry embossed using Cuttlebug folders.  Machine Stitching was added to the panels and pearl stickers from Memory Box were applied. Thanks for stopping by to take a look!
