Stampin' In Alaska

  The current challenge at Art Impressions is Furries & Feathers.  I was a lucky challenge winner and Dog House Cubbies was my choice.  The pups and little open doors are so fun! I started by stamping all of the images onto water color paper.  They were die cut then colored and blended with Tombow markers.  I decided the image size was perfect for a bookmark. I used papers from my stash and Spellbinders Long Classic Rectangle Large die for the bookmark.  A small tab punch and twine finish the project. This will be going to my niece who is an animal lover.  Watch for more fun creations with this set soon!   This week's challenge at Art Impression is Squares.  I recently won the adorable Sloth-some set and couldn't wait to create a fun birthday card.  I used the Out-of-the-Box technique and paper pieced the balloon.  The image was colored with Copic Markers and the background was masked and sponged with a scallop die.  The finished card size is 3.5 square. I'm joining the current Summer Fun challenge at Di's Digi with this sweet digital image called Cherry Blossom Mice.  The image was printed onto Stampin' Up! whisper white cardstock and colored with Copic Markers.  The cherries were lightly watercolored with distress ink. I searched my digital and rubber sets for a Summer sentiment.  I finally came across this stamp from a set from The Craft's Meow called Life is a Carnival.  Sadly, they are now out of business. The image was die cut with Spellbinders Labels Nine die cut.  I'm trying to pull out some of my older shaped dies and use them!  This little scene fit perfectly!  Papers are from American Crafts Happy Traveler paper pad. I'm sneaking in a last minute entry for the Shape Up! challenge at Power Poppy.  My card features the Wildflower Mini digital set from Power Poppy.   The image was printed onto Stampin' Up! whisper white card stock and colored with Copic Markers.  I pulled out an older Spellbinder die from my stash called Labels Five for the image and matting.  A few enamel dots and sentiment from SU finish the card. Happy Friday!  I'm joining the current Power Poppy Challenge with a Small and Sassy Birthday card.  My card features the digital Peonies stamp se t. I printed the image onto water color paper with the no-line version.  The image was colored and blended with Tombow markers.  A new sentiment die was layered for a quick and simple design.  I used the largest die of the Spellbinders Lacey Squares set for the card base.  The final card size is about 3.5 square.  A few sequins finish the card. I'm joining the current Art Impressions Challenge to use circles .  I couldn't resist this adorable pile of critters from the AI Full of Thanks set .   The image was colored with Copic Markers then die cut with Spellbinders Circle die.  Coordinating designer papers were also cut with the Spellbinder Circle dies and layered.  The Thanksgiving sentiments are from the same set.  A few enamel dots finish the card. This card will be added to my Thanksgiving card stash for family and friends. Each week From the Heart Stamps hosts a fun sketch challenge  with an optional twist. You can use the sketch provided  and/or the twist. Recently while browsing the  FTHS shop I came across the perfect set for Mother's Day. Mom is Wow (Faithful Friends) Although I really like this week's sketch, I went with the optional twist and used  several dies on my card. The Classic Rectangle and Classic  Scallop Rectangle die are from Spellbinders. The speech bubble die is from MFT - Say What. The image was colored with Copic Markers and Prismacolor pencils.  A machine stitched border and ribbon finish the card. It's finally Saturday and time for another fabulous sketch from The Sweet Stop !  I have to tell you a secret.... Sketch Challenges are my all time favorite.  Here's what I came up with using this week's sketch and a Sweet 'n Sassy clear stamp set called " Nature Silhouettes 2 ".  The set also have a matching die that you can view HERE .  The main panel was sponged with various Memento inks then the silhouette image stamped with Versafine Tuxedo Black ink.  The border die was cut with Spellbinder Inverted Scalloped Circles.  The sentment is from Sweet 'n Sassy's Precious Poppies clear stamp set.  The sentiment is actually on two lines, but I used a Tombow marker to ink the words individually to accommodate my thin panel.  The finished card is 4.25 square which seems to be my favorite size to work with right now. Oh my goodness, I am running so behind with the Sassy Cheryl challenge this week!  I had an idea all planned out then it changed completely this weekend.  Yikes! Here's what I've created using a Noah image He Is Loved : The sentiment is from Create with TLC called Promoted to Big Brother .  The fancy edge along the top is a Martha Stewart border punch.  There is also a fancy edge to the sentiment using Spellbinder nestibilities.  The clouds were sponged and die cuts were used from My Favorite Things Woodgrain Fence and Impression Obsession grass die.  Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!

This week's Sassy Cheryl Digi Stamps Challenge is "Dreaming of a White Christmas". I decided to play with my Cricut this afternoon and cut various snowflakes from their Winter Lace cartridge.  I applied Stampin' Up!  Heat & Stick powder to the snowflakes, applied heat with my heat gun until they were sticky, then sprinkled on Stampin' Up! Stampin' Glitter. Below are a couple of photos showing the the snowflakes: The snowflakes were applied to a white embossed panel and die cut with Spellbinder Labels 17 to get the panel in my finished card.  I printed Cheryl's "Simple Snowman Block" digital image and colored it with Copic Markers.  I applied Polar White Flower Soft to the birdhouse and carrot nose.  You can pick up this sweet winter image for .50 right now in Cheryl's Shop . It's time for another Sweet 'n Sassy digital challenge! This week's challenge is to create a pop-up card.  Here is what I created this week by using a pop-up card tutorial over on Splitcoast Stampers by Beate. I used " Eskimo Kisses " from the Sweet 'n Sassy digital image store for this card.  The sentiment is also digital, but I don't remember where I got it.  (Sorry!)  The cute couple has been paper pieced and colored with Copic Markers.  I applied liquid applique and a fine glitter to the coat trim of the little girl.  They have been placed on a Spellbinder heart die which was dry embossed and edged with diamond Stickles.  This is my first attempt at a pop-up card, but certainly will not be my last! I kept the outside fairly simple and the organza bow is used to hold the card closed.    Because of the pop-up, the card is a little thicker than usual.  I cut a couple of hearts...

This week's challenge over on the Can You Digi It? blog is all about Numbers.   I used a couple of fun Word Art images from the "Coffee Time Word Art" set.  You can find it in the CYDI? shop HERE . I digitally layered the coffee cup image slightly over the clock/sentiment image then cut it out.  Easy Peasy!!  I am really happy with the finished results.  I then layered the digital images on an Inverted Scalloped Circle Spellbinder die.  The number cuttlebug folder was inked for the base panel.  I added a coordinating ribbon held by a clock brad to finish the card.  All cardstock is from Close to My heart Autumn Garden paper pack. I'm running a little late this week with my Sassy Cheryl Challenge card.  This week's challenge is to create a Birthday themed project.  Who doesn't need an extra birthday card in their stash?! I combined Cheryl's " Sassy Sally Triple Layer Cake " image with this fun word art from TLC.  I colored with Copic Markers and cut it out with Spellbinder dies for a quick birthday card! This week the ladies over on Mo's Digital Challenge blog has given us a fun theme "At The Park".  I have spied several recent cards using this sweet " Tom and Tilly " image.  It wasn't yet in my Mo Manning collection, but this was the perfect challenge for the purchase! What a better way to spend the evening but sitting on a park bench watching the sunset? Of course, at this time of year, sunsets in Alaska don't happen until about midnight.  However, we have gorgeous sunsets during the Winter months! This adorable couple was colored with Copic Markers.  The sunset sky was sponged with various Memento inks - Dandelion Yellow, Rose Red and Tangelo.  I kept the layout very clean and simple to focus on the main image.  The Cuttlebug dotted swiss emboss folder was used to partially emboss the base card.  The sentiment is an old wooden stamp from Michael's $1 bin.  I've used it a lot because I really like the font.
