Sugar Pea Designs - Mix It Up Challenge #42

I'm participating in the current Sugar Pea Designs Mix it Up Challenge #42 .  I used the color palette as my inspiration featuring a retired set called Take a Load Off.  I love the clothesline image in this set and the fabulous coordinating sentiments. The image was stamped onto Stampin' Up! Whisper White cardstock and colored with Copic Markers.  The sky was masked and sponged with Memento ink.  Spellbinder Wonky Rectangle dies were used for the image panel and grey panel below.  I found colors from the challenge palette with the plaid paper Echo Park Spring paper pad.  A few gems finish off the card. Your Next Stamp Sketch Challenge #87

I'm joining the current sketch challenge at Your Next Stamp with their adorable Aquarium Antics stamp and die set.  This set is so much fun!  It includes several puny sentiments, water critters and two fish tanks for fun scenes. I started the card by experimenting with Tim Holtz Alcohol inks on Yupo cardstock for the base panel.  I mixed Indigo, Mermaid and Lettuce.  I kept adding layers, spritzing alcohol and blending solution until I was satisfied with the coloring. I layered a white panel with the circle cuts on top of the Yupo.  Finally, I spritzed Dylusions ink on the white panel for an extra "water" looking effect.  The little critters were stamped onto water color paper, colored with Tombow Markers and die cut. Of course, I couldn't resist adding googlie eyes to the little crab!  He just makes me smile.  I finished with a few enamel dots for extra color and texture. I'm sharing my card with the following: Your Next Stamp S...

Graciellie Design April New Release - True Beauty Digital set

Graciellie Design features beautiful floral digital stamps sets.  The new April release is no exception.  My card features the new True Beauty Digital set .  This set includes the beautiful floral image and four coordinating sentiments. My card started by printing the floral image onto Stampin' Up! Whisper White card stock.  The image was colored with Copic markers and fussy cut. The image was layered onto coordinating papers from my stash.  My favorite (easy) embellishment is machine stitching.  I quickly added a machine stitched border to the base panel. Machine stitching is decorative, provides dimension and holds my panel in place.  I am using my old standby Brother sewing machine.  Be sure to keep a needle handy just for paper projects since it will get dull quickly.  I also keep a supply of sharp needles for sewing projects. A sentiment was printed from the True Beauty set and layered onto black cardstock.  I finishe...
