MFT Color Challenge - Let's Pretend

Happy Friday! I'm stopping by with a quick belated birthday card design featuring My Favorite Things .  In case you haven't heard, Kim and the MFT design team are back with a weekly challenge.  It's the perfect "excuse" to pull out my beloved MFT goodies and play. The sentiment is from the Celebrate Everything stamp set.  Patterned papers are from the MFT Time to Celebrate paper pad and the teal base is Stampin' Up!  I would like to share my card with the following; MFT Card Challenge:  #6 Colors Word Art Wednesday:  Anything Goes PIP Challenge:  #2616 Anything Goes Lil Patch of Crafty Friends:  #276 Anything Goes Polkadoodle Challenge:  #4 Anything Goes

My Favorite Things Final Sketch Challenge #705

As they say:  "All good things must come to an end".  I have been playing along with the MFT sketch challenge from about #165.... A Long Time.   The MFT team announced that this will be the final sketch challenge, and of course, I had to play along. My card features the retired MFT Adorable Adventures designed by Birdie Brown.  The images were stamped, die cut and colored with alcohol markers then sponged with Danube Blue Memento ink.  The circle dies were adhered to paper from the MFT Happy Trails paper pad.  A coordinating MFT Birthday sentiment and enamel dots finish the card. The border word stamp was used repeatedly on the panel then spritzed with brown walnut stain. Art Impressions Challenge - April Showers

I'm joining the current April Showers Challenge at Art Impressions.  The AI Design Team is looking for crafty projects using rain, rainbows, rainboots, umbrellas, clouds, puddles etc! After searching through my somewhat extensive AI stamp collection I couldn't believe there were no umbrellas, rainboots or rainbows to be found.  But I can always create with clouds! I pulled out a favorite (now retired) AI set - His & Hers Gardeners.  The gardner image was colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut.  It was layered onto cloudy designer paper from Bo Bunny.  The sentiment, fence die and cornstalk die are from My Favorite Things. Art Impressions - Inside Out Challenge #347

I'm joining the current challenge at Art Impressions with the adorable Submarine Cubbies set.  The current challenge is to create both the inside and front of your card.   For ease of photographing, I did not mount the inside of my card immediately.  The left image is the card itself (front) and the right image is the inside panel. My card front started with a MFT sunray stencil and blue cardstock from Stampin' Up!  The submarine and ocean critters were die cut, colored and layered onto the stenciled panel.  A fun ocean floor scene from Impression Obsession was stamped on the bottom edge.  A wave stencil from MFT was used on the inside panel.  A couple of ocean critters from the Submarine Cubbies set were combined with seaweed, silhouette fish and rock from MFT to create the inside scene. My Favorite Things Sketch and Color Challenges

I got a chance to spend quality time catching up with my sister this weekend by phone.  We live over 2000 miles apart with a 3-hour time difference so it can be difficult to catch one another.  Yes, we text often, but talking by phone is the next-best-thing to seeing her in person.  I guess that's why this sweet PI set came to mind today!   I'm joining the color and sketch challenge at My Favorite Things with a retired PI - A Phone Call Away.  The image was colored with Copic Markers then die cut with a Wonky Stitched die. The image was layered onto papers from MFT and Pink Paislee Switchboard.  A sentiment from the same set finishes the card.
