Art Impressions Challenge #213 - I'll Text You

I have to admit that the current challenge over at Art Impressions had me a little stumped.  Text only?  What?? That is until I pulled out my coffee themed sets and saw the wonderful sentiments  in both sets!  Usually the sentiment supports the image BUT this week the sentiment is the main focus. My card features sentiments (and image) from  Cathy Caffeine Set and Hot Java Mama. I started by inking a Tim Holtz Splatters stencil with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  The sentiments were  then stamped and finally the image was  stamped onto Copic paper, colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut then adhered to the panel.  A few rhinestones finish the card. Thanks for taking the time to stop by! Simple Sympathy Card

It's never an easy task to create a sympathy card. I had this floral image colored and in my crafty stash so I paired it with a sentiment from Sweet 'n Sassy for a quick card. The image is called "You're Too Kind". It was designed by Angie Blom for Unity Stamps. I stamped the image onto water color paper and colored with Tim Holtz Distress Inks. The edges of both the image and sentiment were inked with Versafine Vintage Sepia. It was layered onto paper from the All Abloom Designer Series paper from Stampin' Up! Thanks for taking the time to stop by! SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge #33

While looking through my stamp stash last week I came across this adorable stamp set called "Float My Boat" from There She Goes and designed by Torico.  Sadly, TSG closed their shop a few years ago.  Torico is now designing for My Favorite Things and continues to create adorable stamps. The base panel was created with distress inks.  I replaced the banner element in the current SPD sketch with a felt cloud die cut and sun. Thanks for stopping by tonight! Your Next Stamp Sketch and Color Challenge #69

There is a new sketch and color challenge starting over at Your Next Stamp .  I have combined a YNS retired silhouette stamp called Home Sweet Home with a digital Word Art Scripture provided by Ginny Maxam over on the Christian Card Makers FB group .  I really love how well the image and Scripture work together! I recently expanded my Distress Ink collection with these three yummy colors. They were the perfect combination to create a "sunset" sky background for  the silhouette.   Each of the colors were swiped onto a plastic page protector then spritzed with  water.  (I've also used waxed paper) Then the cardstock was placed onto the ink several times until covered and I heat dried the panel to speed up the process.  Finally, I ran the panel  through my HP Photosmart printer to print the digital Scripture and then stamped the silhouette with Versafine ink. Machine stitched borders finished two o...

SugarPea Design Mix It Up Challenge #33

I'm playing along with the current challenge over at SugarPea Designs. My card features their new set called RV There Yet?  and Happy Camper paper pack. I used Tim Holtz distress inks to make the paper for the tree line.  I inked a  piece of wax paper then spritzed with water. I then layed a piece of textured paper on the wax paper until it was covered with the green.  After letting it dry, I sprayed it with water lightly.   Finally, I used the SugarCut TreeScape  die and cut twice for a layered look.  The camper (which I LOVE) was colored with Copic Markers  and fussy cut then adhered with dimension tape. The fun banner die is from Verve Stamps.   Thanks for taking the time to stop by! My Favorite Things Sketch and Color Challenge

I gave this week's MFT sketch challenge a try and really like how it turned out. It was a tough one for me, but I  combined it with the MFT Color challenge and found some older papers that helped get my Mojo going! I pulled out my large collection of MFT Pure Innocence stamps and  decided to use "Feeling Sassy" which appears to be retired from the MFT store. I love this little image.... It reminds me of my nieces!  ;) The paper pieced dress and shaped panel are from a retired Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper pack called Everyday Enchantment. The dress photographed a little reddish, but it real life it's actually coral. Of course, I added a little machine stitching and a few sequins from Verve to finish my card. Thanks for taking the time to stop by! I'm sharing my card with the following: MFT Card Challenge:  Sketch #341 MFT Color Challenge:  #73 Word Art Wednesday:  Anything Goes #290 - 2...

Happy Monday! Today the Bugaboo design team is sharing projects which are  Anything But a Card. My project features the lovely Thank You Tulip Block . I removed the "Thank You" sentiment with  Paint program on my computer. The sentiment was then stamped from Verve Stamps.
