Stampin' In Alaska

  The April Stay Crafty Challenge with Hero Arts is Opposites Attract - Opposite Colors or Mirror Image .  I chose to create a project by using opposite colors from the color wheel - Orange and Blue. I started by stamping the Hero Arts Antique Rose (2017) woodblock stamp onto watercolor paper.  I used various mediums to watercolor the image - Tombow marker and distress ink with Stickles applied to the center.  The image was fussy cut and layered onto designer papers from the Basic Grey Marrakech Paper Pad.  Layers of vellum die cuts, orange netting, gems and a sentiment finish the card.   My brother and sister-in-law will be celebrating their wedding anniversary this month.  I recently purchased the With Love Clear Stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps which is perfect for the occasion. I started by stamping the Bible verse with black VersaClaire ink then embossing with clear powder.  Spellbinder circle and scalloped dies were used to keep focus on the versa.  It was adhered to designer papers from Carta Bella Summer Market with dimensional tape.  A few yellow and green enamel dots finish the card.   A new challenge started today at Word Art Wednesday .  As always, the challenge welcomes any project as long as it is family friendly.  My project is a mixed media altered puzzle piece magnet.  The puzzle was purchased at a local thrift store.  When we discovered pieces were missing I decided they would be the perfect size for craft projects. I began by applying a gelli print sheet of tissue with Mod Podge directly to the puzzle piece.  It was left to dry overnight.  The next day I liberally applied water to the tissue at the edges of the puzzle.  It easily "melted" away! This week's Scripture word art was printed and trimmed then applied to the puzzle piece.  I stamped images from Stamp Simply's God Will Take Care of You stamp set.     They were colored, die cut and layered onto the puzzle piece.  A few pearls finish the project.   The current Hero Arts Challenge is the theme of Love.  I pulled out the January 2019 My Monthly Hero Kit for my entry.  There are some great scene building stamps and dies in this kit.  Love it! My card started with a mini slim card base using designer papers from Memory Box.  The bicycle stamp and balloons were wet embossed and colored with Copic Markers and die cut.  An older sentiment stamp from my stash was used with Spellbinder heart dies.  A few rhinestones were added to finish the card.
