PBSC February - Anything Goes Challenge

I'm joining a few challenges with a mixed media design featuring Penny Black Irises wood mount stamp from 2003.  I love the water color effect of the image. I began with water color paper and smooshing several layers of Hero Arts reactive inks.  Acrylic paint was lightly splattered for additional dimension.  Stampin' Up! gems, a die from Stamplorations and gingham bow finish the card. Allsorts Challenge: #817 Shades of Blue

I'm sharing a "no stamping" card with the current Allsorts challenge to use shades of blue.  It's very rare for me to make cards completely with dies.  The papers are an older Stampin' Up! In-Color combo.  This is my first time using the Bella Bouquet die by Memory Box.  The Kaleidoscope Butterfly die is also Memory Box and the sentiment is from docrafts.  A few coordinating gems finish the card.  I would like to share my card with the following: Allsorts Challenge:  #817 Shades of Blue  PIP Challenge #2507 Anything Goes Lil Patch of Crafty Friends:  #248 Anything Goes Polkadoodles Challenge:  #3 Anything Goes

Creative Worship Stamps - Christmas Challenge card

I'm sharing a mixed media Christmas card featuring the Forest Silhouettes Die set from Creative Worship Stamps (formerly Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps). The card base is a Gelli Print which was created using acrylic paints and a Memory Box snowflake stencil.  The Psalm 23 Background stamp from Creative Worship Stamps was stamped in Majestic Blue Versafine ink then light white paint splatters were applied. I went "old school" creating the snowy base by tearing then inking the edges of white card stock.  The dies were adhered and finished with silver cord and a sentiment from Colorado Craft Company. Art Impressions Challenge - April Showers

I'm joining the current April Showers Challenge at Art Impressions.  The AI Design Team is looking for crafty projects using rain, rainbows, rainboots, umbrellas, clouds, puddles etc! After searching through my somewhat extensive AI stamp collection I couldn't believe there were no umbrellas, rainboots or rainbows to be found.  But I can always create with clouds! I pulled out a favorite (now retired) AI set - His & Hers Gardeners.  The gardner image was colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut.  It was layered onto cloudy designer paper from Bo Bunny.  The sentiment, fence die and cornstalk die are from My Favorite Things. Power Poppy Challenge: Inspired by the Sea

My hopes of an early Spring were dashed today with a wet snowfall.  What can a gal do but pull out a beautiful floral image, color and dream of Spring Flowers!   The current photo challenge at Power Poppy was a real inspiration tonight for my card.  It features Power Poppy's digital Tulips set.   The blooms were colored with alcohol markers and blended.  I water colored the background with Tombow markers and a paint brush. A coordinating sentiment is included in the set.  The image panel and layer were die cut with Scrappy Boy Stitched Scalloped Edge dies.  A piece of Pink Pirouette was used for the card base with a few sequins scattered. HMFMC # 385 Anything Goes Option Theme Use a Die

Are you looking forward to Spring weather?  In my yard, the first thing to pop through the soil are the lovely daffodils.  I know Spring is close when the green growth peeks through.   The current House Mouse and Friends challenge has an optional theme of dies.  I combined a Memory Box Spring Border die with this sweet House-Mouse Designs Feed and Seed stamp from 2005.  I was very fortunate to find a set of 7 older House-Mouse Design wooden stamps at my local thrift store.  What a find!  And the red rubber appeared to have never seen ink. The image was colored with Copic markers and die cut with a Wonky Stitched die.  Memory Box Puffy Clouds die and sentiment finish the card.   Card stock:  Colorbok polkadot, Stampin' Up! Lovely Lilac, Green Galore, Daffodil Yellow and Creamy Caramel. Mo's Digital Challenge #302 - Anything Goes with A Mo Image

I'm joining the Anything Goes Challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil with an older image by Mo Manning called Summer Girl.  (Sorry, it appears to be retired as I was unable to find it in the store.) My shaker card started with a pasta box --- Yep, I salvaged this ziti pasta box when I spotted the fun window on the front!! Crazy, huh?!  Well, I trimmed the cardboard to the appropriate size then layered my designer paper.  The "window" was die cut on my dp with a Spellbinder rectangle die.     I added Sprinkles Embellishments from Stampin' Up! for the shaker design.  The sweet Summer Girl digi was colored with alcohol markers and fussy cut.  The sun die and sentiment are from Lil' Inkers Designs. I'm super happy with how this turned out.  I hope it brings a smile to the recipients face!  I would like to share my card with the following: Mo's Digital Challenge #302 - Anything Goes with A Mo Image Word Art Wednesday Challenge:  Anythi...

Power Poppy Creative Confetti: Sketch it Out & ROck Your Mojo

I'm joining the current Power Poppy Challege featuring their beautiful Peonies Digital Stamp set .  Hurry, it's on sale now for $2.49! I followed Julie's tutorial HERE which shows how to apply a quick splash of color by stippling inks.  Love this technique! Following Julie's example, I started by stippling Memento Rose Bud ink in the centers of the flowers.  I then came back with Angel Pink Memento ink.  The leaves were stippled with Bamboo Leaves.  I finished the panel by flicking the Bamboo Leaves ink mixed with a little water using a toothbrush. A machine stitched border, sentiment from Sweet 'n Sassy, designer paper from Pebbles Garden Party and brads finish the card.  My card was also inspired by Julie's Rock Your Mojo challenge.  I LOVE peonies... the smell and huge blooms remind me of my childhood.  My mom and grandmothers all had peony bushes.  I have about a dozen bushes around my yard and they are currently in...

Di's Digi Challenge - Fold It Fancy

I'm joining the current Di's Digi Challenge - Fold it Fancy with this sweet Love Swing digital stamp.  The image was printed on Stampin' Up! Whisper White cardstock and colored with Copic markers. Card folds are definitely a challenge for me.  I usually keep it pretty simple as all of my cards get mailed to family or friends out of state.  So, I chose a simple gate card fold which worked perfectly with this image.   I finished the card with a die from Poppy Stamps and a sentiment from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  I would like to share my card with the following: Di's Digi Challenge:  Fold It Fancy   Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge:  June Anything Goes  Southern Girls Challenge:  June Anything Goes  Word Art Wednesday Challenge:  #442 - 443 Anything Goes   2 Crafty Critter Crazies:  Challenge #39
