Stampin' In Alaska

  Beccy's Place released an adorable new digital beach set this month called Beach Bums .   I'm in Alaska where summer is in full swing!  I had so much fun creating both cards. The first design was created by coloring the digital image with Copic Markers and layering onto various papers from Echo Park.  It was finished with a fun coordinating sentiment from the set. The second design started by printing the image and coloring with Copic Markers.  I used the ink smooshing technique for the base panel.  Hero Arts Sand embossing powder was applied to Caramel card stock then ripped into strips for the sand.  I fussy cut the swimmer, added a sun die, sentiment and a couple of real star fish.   I'm playing along with the Penny Black Saturday Challenge featuring a couple of Penny Black sets - Panoramic 40-814 and Hugs! 30-020. I started by stamping the scene using Panoramic and my Misti.  The card base was created using the ink smooshing technique and water color paper.  The sweet balloon (transport option) and mouse image was stamped, colored and fussy cut then added to the scene.  I really like the scene building images in the PB Panoramic set.  I will be creating with it again soon! I kept the design simple and will add the appropriate sentiment when a card is needed. My card features an image from the Stampendous Everyday Mini Clear Set - POPHM53.  The image was colored with Copic Markers and layered onto papers from Stampin' Up!  I finished with twine and a coordinating sentiment.   Welcome!  The new Word Art Wednesday challenge starts today, and our sponsor is Altenew, who are giving a generous gift of a $15 voucher to their store. My card features a floral set from Altenew called Paint-A-Flower: Spider Mums .  The floral image is huge and the detail is fabulous.  I began stamping the image onto watercolor paper with versamark then heat embossing in white.  I then used the ink smooshing technique followed by watercolor of the flowers. I finished the card simply with a black mat, sentiment and a few Stampin' Up! rhinestones.  This is not my typical style, but I will definitely try this again.   I'm joining the current challenge at House Mouse and Friends with the option of Naughty.  Although "mudpie" looks full and satisfied... he better not get into my strawberry bed! This is an older House-Mouse Designs wood stamp from 1999 called Sleeping with Strawberries.  The image was colored with alcohol markers and die cut to fit the 6x3 slimline card size.  I layered it onto designer papers from Carta Bella.  A summer sentiment completes the card from Unity Stamp Company.   I'm so excited that Marcella and The Bloomies are back in action at Power Poppy!  Oh how I've missed the beautiful inspiration.   My card features the lovely Flower Bomb digital set .   It was colored with Copic markers and layered onto designer papers from Pink Paislee.   The gorgeous floral image needs little embellishment.  I've finished with a few pearls.   I'm sharing a mini slimline design for this week's MFT sketch and color challenges.  My card features the adorable Lucky Dog set and retired Farm Fence Die-namic. The dog was die cut and colored with Tombow Markers.  The fence die was cut from Cement Gray card stock and layered onto designer papers from MFT Positively Peppy paper pad. I finished with a ball from the same set and coordinating birthday sentiment.  The finished card size is 6 x 3.5.   I'm joining the current "Funny Bone" challenge at Art Impressions.  My card features a couple of their retired sets - Catching Z's and Fish, Bait, Nap.  This is the perfect image for several fisherman in our family! The pig image was stamped multiple times on 1 inch square water color paper.  I then colored with Tombow markers and layered onto gray cardstock and designer paper from Pebbles, Inc. I'm so excited to finally share the news that I've joined the Beccy's Place Design Team!   Beccy Muir is the owner and artist for Beccy's Place located in Queensland Australia.  Be sure you stop by the Beccy's Store and check out all of the fun stamping sets! Today I have two designs featured over on the Beccy's Place Blog . These cards were created using one of the new release digi sets available in the Beccy's Place Store. Orchid set is lovely for any occasion and includes a no-line pre-colored version, Black & White and five great sentiments. My first card was colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut.  It was layered onto older designer paper from my stash, a ribbon and gems. The second card was colored with alcohol ink and fussy cut.  I printed a sentiment from the set then created a fun mixed media background with a circle die, inks and gems. The circle panels were die cut from scraps of core'dinations polkadot papers.  The floral image was stamped and embossed on gelli print paper.   When I saw the current AI challenge I knew that I would use their His and Hers Campers set.  Hubby and I enjoy "glamping" during the summer months in Alaska. I started by stamping and coloring the trailer image from the set and fussy cutting.  Designer papers from Carta Bella Summer Market were layered.  I finished the card with a few enamel dots and a coordinating sentiment from the set.
