We dare you to create a smile : February moodboard

There is a fun inspiration moodboard over at Create A Smile this month.  I chose to use the colors and bird image for my inspiration. My project features a freebie digital image from Create A Smile called Bird with Coffee.  I love the bold lines and fun design of this coffee image.  Digital images are so fun and versatile!  I printed the coffee cup at 3.5 x 5 inches then fussy cut and mounted it only a small note card.  The cup cozy and heart were paper pieced.  I colored the cup, lid and bird with Copic Markers.  Of course, I had to add a little pom pom to the cute hat! Stay Crafty With a Blog Named Hero: February Challenge - Animal Crackers

I'm joining the current Hero Arts Challenge with the March 2017 Monthly Hero Kit.  I recently order the A2 Pop Up card die from Echo Park.  This is my first card and it was really fun to create. The floral border is an older die from Memory Box called Spring Border.  I stamped and die cut the rabbit and duck from the Hero Arts Kit.  They were colored with Copic Markers and adhered to the floral border.   The box will lay flat for mailing in an A2 envelope.  It is a little thick with all of the designer paper panels.   This will be fun to experiment using different stamps and dies!  Thanks for stopping by to take a peek. Art Impressions Challenge: Bloom Where You're Planted

I'm joining the current Art Impressions Challenge to include flowers, trees, plants, etc.  My bookmark features the AI Garden Wagon Mini Set . I began by stamping the wagon and flowers on white card stock.  A puffy cloud background was masked and sponged with Memento inks.  The panel scene and base were die cut with Spellbinder Long Classic Rectangle dies.  A punch from my stash was used for the tab and denim ribbon adhered.  A Scripture from Sweet 'n Sassy's In the Psalms set finishes the project. Altenew Inspiration Challenge - February Color Inspiration

I recently came across the Altenew Inspiration Challenges.  The color inspiration this month immediately called to me!  My project features Altenew Paint A Flower:  Spider Mums .   The image was stamped onto water color paper then water colored with Altenew Water color Essential 12 Pan set .  The image panel was layered onto SU Basic Black and Pink Passion  card stock.  I kept the image focal with a few rhinestones and a simple sentiment.    I would like to share my card with the following: Altenew Inspiration Challenge - February Color Inspiration Simon Says Stamp Wednesday:  Anything Goes PIP Challenge #2307 Anything Goes  Polkadoodles Craft Challenge:  Week 7 Anything Goes

We Dare You to Create A Smile - February Sketch

I'm sneaking in a last minute entry with the current Create A Smile challenge.  I always love sketch challenges and this one was really fun to work with! I used Salty Ocean distress in with the Create A Smile Spring Garden stencil on the base panel.  I love how the tone-on-tone stenciling turned out!  The adorable yellow chick is from Create A Smile Crazy Chick clear set .  The chick and balloon images were both stamped, embossed, colored with Copic markers then fussy cut. A piece of washi tape and sentiment from MFT PI- All Occasion Sentiments set finish the card. House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge #383 Anything Goes Option Doodle It

I'm joining the current House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge with the Option Doodle It .  I have used the Stampendous Cling Dream Flower image for my card.   The image was embossed then colored with Copic Markers.  After die cutting, a doodled frame was created around the image.  I chose lots of blue designer papers from an older MME Moments paper pad to coordinate with the image.  A few blue pearls from my stash finish the card. I've omitted the sentiment for now.  It's nice to have a general card for any occasion that comes up. Word Art Wednesday Week #583 - 584 Mixed Media Puzzle Magnet

A new challenge started today at Word Art Wednesday .  As always, the challenge welcomes any project as long as it is family friendly.  My project is a mixed media altered puzzle piece magnet.  The puzzle was purchased at a local thrift store.  When we discovered pieces were missing I decided they would be the perfect size for craft projects. I began by applying a gelli print sheet of tissue with Mod Podge directly to the puzzle piece.  It was left to dry overnight.  The next day I liberally applied water to the tissue at the edges of the puzzle.  It easily "melted" away! This week's Scripture word art was printed and trimmed then applied to the puzzle piece.  I stamped images from Stamp Simply's God Will Take Care of You stamp set.     They were colored, die cut and layered onto the puzzle piece.  A few pearls finish the project. Karen has provided a lovely Scripture this week from Romans 12:12.  You are not requi...

Beccy's Place Monthly Challenge - Anything Goes or Flip-A-Coin AND a Freebie

There is a new monthly challenge and free digital image over at Beccy's Place .  Beccy's challenges are always Anything Goes.  However, each month she provides an optional element and this month is Flip-A-Coin. I couldn't resist joining the challenge this month when I saw the Free and adorable Balloon Bunny digital image.  I've used Beccy's pre-colored digital image for my project and opted to stay with the Anything Goes theme.  The birthday sentiment is from Beccy's Birthday Stanley set.  It was layered onto patterned papers from My Favorite Things and finished with enamel dots. I hope to get a chance to join Beccy's challenge which will run through the 28th of February.  While you are there check out all of Beccy's adorable digital images, along with a large library of freebies! My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #632

Happy Saturday!  I hope everyone gets to enjoy a little crafty time this weekend.   I {LOVE} a good sketch challenge!  The team at MFT always provides a fun and challenging sketch.  I pulled out a favorite MFT set designed by Birdie Brown (Torico) called Friends at First Sip for this week's sketch.   The sweet images were stamped onto watercolor paper and colored then blended with Tombow markers.  They were layered onto papers from MFT Creepy Confections paper pad.  The birthday sentiment is from a retired MFT set - PI All Occasion Sentiments.  A few enamel dots from my stash finish the card. This will be going to my coffee-loving niece next month for her 11th birthday! Power Poppy Blossom Challenge - Clean Slate and freebie

Happy Friday!  I hope everyone had a great week.  Hubby and I got back on Monday from our winter break.  I have been away from the craft room getting a little sun and sand in Kauai.  Of course, I carried along my Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils to color while we were away.  I even had enough "elbow room" to color on the flight down!   One of the images which I had a time to color was this lovely digital image from Power Poppy called Billowing Balloon Flower.  This was a free image that Marcella graciously provided during the Kit and Clowder advent challenge.  Be sure to stop by the Power Poppy shop and check out all of the beautiful images. Hint, Hint, you might even find a freebie ! The current Blossom Challenge is clean and simple.  The image was colored with Copic Markers and layered simply onto Stampin' Up!  Always Artichoke card stock.  A sentiment from Unity Stamp Company and bakers twine finish the card. Word Art Wednesday Week #581 - 582

It's time for a new Anything Goes Challenge at Word Art Wednesday .  This week Karen's free Scripture word art is John 13:34.   You aren't required to use the word art to participate, but feel free to right click and save for a future project.  We would love to see what you create! My project started with the January 2019 My Monthly Hero Kit.  I decided to mimic a chalk board with the large sign die and this week's Scripture.  The bicycle and balloons are also included in the kit. Our Sponsor for this challenge is Top Flight Stamps .  They are generously giving the random winner $25 gift voucher to spend in the store.  We really appreciate our Sponsors!
