This time around our Can You Digi It? Challenge is "Bird is the Word".   Here is the inspiration collage for this challenge: There are tons of fun bird images in the CYDI store.  I decided to use " Henpecked " by LilyPink Designs.  I cut out only the chicken for this card: I used Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake for the base of my card and the Retired Stampin' Up!  Chicken wire background stamp with this fun digi.  The dp is from October Afternoon.  The sentiment is from There She Goes and I added a row of rhinestones from Amuse. This week's Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge is Picture Perfect .  Below is our photo inspiration: I choose to focus on the color combo in the photo - blue, yellow and kraft.  Here is what I came up with using Paper Smooches Bee digital image and sentiment. The digital image was colored with Copic Markers.  The clouds are Memory Box Marshmallow cloud dies.  The papers are SU Crumb Cake and Paper Crate.  I've made a hand drawn border around the card base and the banner. This is also being submitted for the Dare to Get Dirty challenge on Splitcoast to make a scene using die cuts.  It also qualifies for this week's Sweet 'n Sassy challenge - Flag You're it! This week's Sweet Stop Sketch has a spin - Fun with Numbers.  The sketch we were asked to follow is below: Here's what I came up with using Sweet 'n Sassy's Timeless Classic set: Masculine cards are usually hard for me, but with this vintage auto set they are easy!  All of the images in this set are so perfect for the vintage auto buff in your family. The base panel was dry embossed with a Cuttlebug numbers embossing folder.  Additional numbers came from the Basic Grey paper pack "Life of the Party".  The image was stamped with Memento ink and nothing else is really needed.  Love that!  I added some baker's twine, distressed edges, sponging and a few dewdrops to finish the card. This week's Mo Manning digital challenge is "Hugs & Kisses".  Of course, I chose to use the adorable " Bronte Kisses " image for the challenge.  Being a furry mom, this is the first image that came to mind! Here's what I came up with: The sentiment is wood mounted and by American Art Stamp. I bought it on a recent trip out of state at Hobby Lobby. Isn't it true that a greeting from your furry friend after a bad day makes everything better?  I thought the sentiment paired perfectly with Mo's sweet image.  I love coloring this image!  It was colored with Copic Markers and outlined with Copic B000.  I am in love with the new Cosmo Cricket Baby Jane mini deck papers that I recently received in the mail.  I added a machine stitched border, bakers twine and a scalloped panel edge with a Stampin' Up border punch.  The finished card is 4.5 inches square. A really quick post tonight with this sweet digital image from Sassy Cheryl called " Sassy Sally's Bluebird ".  This week's Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamp challenge was fancy borders.  I hope the machine stitching and Wonky Spellbinder nestibilities makes a "fancy" border. I colored the digital image with Copic Markers and sponged the edges.  Of course, machine stitching was added to the border of the card and the base panel.  The papers just arrived in the mail are from the Cosmo Cricket mini deck "Baby Jane".  I recently found these little lady bug brads at my LSS and knew they would be perfect with Cheryl's images. This week's Sweet 'n Sassy digi challenge is to use a "Fun Fold".  I decided it was the perfect opportunity to overcome my intimidation of the side step fold.  The fold itself was pretty easy for me, but putting all of the elements together for the scene was a challenge! Here's what I came up with: It was a little difficult to photograph, but hopefully you get a good idea.  I followed Beate's tutorial for the side step card over on the Splitcoaststampers website.  The pup is a Sweet 'n Sassy digital called " Puppy Love " and the other dog related stamps are from a retired Stampin' Up! set called "Bow Wow".  The fun dog sentiment is a freebie from Raindrop Echo Designs Blog .  I used a MFT die-namic for the grass and the Marshmallow Cloud die from Memory Box. Another quick post tonight while my Mojo is flowing! This week's Sassy Cheryl Digital Challenge is hosted by Sassy Cathy with Summer Fun!  What could be more fun than a day at the beach with Bella and Sassy Sally! I knew I had to have this adorable image when it first hit Cheryl's store.  You can find " Sassy Sally and Bella headed to the Beach " in Cheryl's shop. Here's what I came up with for this week's challenge: The image was colored with Copic Markers.  The background was sponged with Memento Danube blue ink and a scalloped die.  The designer paper is from Basic Grey Lime Rickey paper pad.  Machine stitching and dry embossing were added.  The MFT die-namics sun die cut and baker's twine finish the card.  Of course, the sentiment is a freebie from Paulette over on Create with TLC . Finally, the card was created using this week's Card Positioning Sketch .  A really basic sketch that is very versatile.

For this week's There She Goes Challenge Wendy has challenged us to use stitching (real or faux) with our TSG goodies.  I have to admit, lately my card doesn't look quite finished without stitching.  It's an easy (and cheap) embellishment! Here's what I came up with: The fun little car image and words are from There She Goes Clear Stamp " Vroom ".  The sentiment is from Create with TLC and can be found HERE .  I added a rhinestone swirl by Recollections.  Of course, there is machine stitching and the sentiment panel was sponged with Memento ink.  The fun papers are from Basic Grey Lime Rickey paper pad. I decided to share a couple of photos from my July 4th weekend trip to Fairbanks, Alaska.  We met my in-laws along the way and drove the 6 plus hours from Anchorage to Fairbanks via the Richardson Highway.  Of course, the pups went along and we pulled the trailer so we could camp. Our first day we all boarded the Riverboat Discovery for a trip down the Chena River.  Below are a couple of photos from the stops along the way. This week's challenge on Mo's Digital Challenge blog is "Anything Goes" with a Mo Manning image, of course.  When Mo first introduced " Moo ", I knew I had to have it!  The sad eyes are just so adorable!  I had this image colored and waiting on my craft desk when this week's challenge was announced. Here's the card that I created for the challenge: As usual, I kept it pretty clean and simple focusing on the adorable image.  The base card stock is Stampin' Up Kraft (retired).  Why, oh why, did Stampin' Up discontinue their Kraft card stock??  It's my favorite!  The color panels are from October Afternoon "Farm Fresh" paper pad and machine stitched. The adorable digital image was colored with Copic Markers.  The sentiment is computer generated and a red ribbon finishes the card! Cathy is our hostess this week over on the Sassy Cheryl Challenge Blog and she has led the theme with "Anything Goes".  I had " Bella's Flower " colored and on my desk ready to go!  Here's what I came up with: Bella was colored with Prismacolor pencils, blending stumps and baby oil.  I've had a few comments about my use of baby oil instead of Gamsol.   I have tried several alternative options to Gamsol since it's difficult to find in my area.  Baby oil gives the same blending ability, it's easier to find, cheaper and smells good! The image was layered with designer papers from the Basic Grey "Life of the Party" paper stack.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches and has been embossed with CTMH detailed embossing powder (my favorite).  A machine stitched border then a GKD ribbon and two paw brads completes the card.  The final size is 6 inches square.  The sketch is from this week's Splitcoast Stampers sketch challenge. This week's challenge inspiration is provide by DT member April.  She has chosen the theme Christmas in July and below is the inspiration:  We have been challenged to use a non-holiday image for the challenge.  This was tough for me but I decided to use the designs " Heart Ears Puppy " by KiniArt.  This pup is a sweetie and really fun to color! I have colored the digital image with Prismacolor pencils and baby oil.  It was paired with papers from the Basic Grey Jovial paper pack.  The holiday sentiment is from "Warmest Regards" by Stampin' Up and a bone brad finishes off the card. Welcome to another week of " Show Me " with Sassy Cheryl!  I can't believe that I won TWO weeks in a row.  I can't wait to drop by the store and pick up a couple of the new Sassy Sally images! Well, with Independence Day in the middle of our work week so Cheryl has given us two weeks to post our goodies.  DH and I packed up the trailer, 4-wheelers and pups on Friday night and headed about 140 miles north of Anchorage for the weekend.  It's one of our favorite spots to take the 4-wheelers.  We had hoped to spot a few caribou, but the weather had other plans.  This is the stomping ground for the Nelchina Caribou herd.  Unfortunately, it started raining after we had only gotten about 8 miles out.  DH said we may as well turn around because the herd will just lay down in the scrub brush until it passes.  View snowcapped Mtns and glacier from the Eureka trail.
