Catch the Bug Oldie But Goodie - Polar Bear

The Bugaboo Design Team is sharing inspiration featuring images from the shop that you may have missed.  This one is called Polar Bear and you can pick it up for $1.00!  Isn't he adorable?  AND perfect for winter projects. One of the things that I love about working with digital images is the ability to resize.  To create this shaped card I printed the bear out at 5 inches tall!  He was fussy cut, colored with copic markers and adhered to Perfect Plum cardstock from Stampin' Up!  I fussy cut again around the card base to create the final shaped card.   The image was printed onto designer papers twice for the scarf.  I then paper pieced and attached the scarf.  Don't forget to mark your calendars for the Annual Holiday Chaos week of fun starting Saturday, December 2 at Catch the Bug.  There will be a new challenge each day and lots of prizes! I'm sharing my card with the following: Word Art Wednesday:  Anyth...

SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge #37

It has been a very busy month so I'm sneaking in a last minute entry with SugarPea Designs challenge. My project started with SugarPea Best of Cluck stamp set and matching Sugar Cuts . I love this little set and can't wait to ink it up again!  The chicken images were stamped onto water color paper and colored with distress inks then die cut.  Sugar Cuts Farm Scapes was die cut for the background.  Distress inks were splattered on the base panel.  The fun sentiment is also from Best of Cluck.  A final size for this card is 4.25 square. Altered Mouse Trap with Graciellie Design

A few months ago while cruising Pinterest I came across the altered mouse trap idea.  Wow, what a crazy thing to alter!  And there are some VERY elaborate designs out there.  So, I bought  a package of mouse traps and they have been sitting in my craft drawer ever since.   Well, this was the weekend to give it a try. AND I thought the butterfly image from the new Beautiful Birthday Wishes set by Graciellie Design would be a perfect embellishment.  This set and many others are on sale now at Unity Stamp Company .  Be sure to check it out!  I started my project by removing most of the hardware from the trap.  There are tons of how-to videos on You Tube to demonstrate how this can be accomplished.  Be sure you have good pliers and lots of patience!   Next I covered the trap base with tissue paper then glued grosgrain ribbon around the edge. I stamped the butterfly from Beautiful Birthday Wishes twice, fu...

Art Impressions Challenge #221 - Tag It!

I had a few minutes to play today with the current challenge over at Art Impressions .  We were asked to  make a tag... and I chose to create a birthday bottle gift tag. (Who doesn't love to receive Bath & Body Works goodies?) My tag began with cutting the Spellbinder  Long Classic Rectangle and scoring about half way.  I then used a Spellbinder circle die for the top to slide over the soap pump.  The cake image from AI's Chocolate Therapy was colored with Copic Markers.  Stickles were  added to the candle flame.  Brown liquid applique was added to the cake icing. I fussy cut the image and layered onto a doily which was sprayed with dylusions ink spray and distress ink. Sequins and bakers twine finish the tag.  I'm sharing my tag with the following: Art Impressions Challenge:  #221 Tag It  Word Art Wednesday: Anything Goes #308-#309 Through the Craft Room Door:...
