Stampin' In Alaska

  I had so much fun creating this vintage, grunge Thanksgiving card for the Simon Monday challenge.  I started with a vintage cut from Crafty Secrets.  Some of you may remember the vintage goodies that Crafty Secrets provided.  Sadly, the owner decided to retiree a few years ago and closed the shop.  So, I decided to put on my "vintage" crafty hat today and play! The BINGO base panel is from 7gypsies and stenciling was applied.  Embellishments from my stash were added to the card including a distressed paper lace. I really couldn't pass up a chance to play with my Crafty Secrets goodies. I was also inspired by Kathy Clement's  recent inspiration using this set.   It's been a busy couple of weeks but I'm sneaking in a last  minute entry for the  May Crafty Secrets linky party . My card features an image from Crafty Secrets Down on the Farm set I really like how this turned out! The image was embossed with CTMH detail black emboss powder. The base panel was machine stitched. I replaced the thin horizontal strip on the sketch  with a fence die from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps. The fun sketch was inspired by the week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challnege #269 Thanks for stopping by! I used the freebie Valentine digital paper to make a quick digital scrapbook page. My sister is 10 years younger than me and was born on Valentine's Day. What a great Valentine's surprise for my family! Of course, she has two adorable little girls of her own now.... my how time flies! It's Day 15 (and the final day) of the CPS 5th Anniversary Celebration. Kim Moreno is the hostess and she chose the following sketch: Here's my take on the sketch: The main image is a vintage image from Crafty Secrets Creative Scraps called "Sew Nice". The bright colors really caught my eye tonight. I've used designer papers from Echo Park For the Record paper pad and GKD Pure Luxury Kraft as the base. I really like the wall hanging on the main image: "Let us grow old like beautiful lace. Cherished and treasure and cared for with Grace." Thanks for stopping by! Whew! This week I tried something new. Sandy Redburn, owner of Crafty Secrets , challenged us to make a gift bag from an envelope. It's a great way to recycle and create a unique size of bag to fit your individual needs. Here's the short video from incrediblethings.com showing how to make these quick and easy bags. I've layered lace, a felt die cut tag, and images from the Crafty Secrets Girlfriend vintage scrap sheet onto my bag. I added a ribbon trim and some pins to finish off! Easy Peasy!! Good morning Sassy Cheryl followers! I have a quick and easy project to share with you this week. I needed a bridal shower gift and decided to alter this recipe box and include some of my favorite recipes for the soon-to-be new bride. I started with this recipe box and dimensional stickers that I picked up at Michael's. The box really didn't require a lot of altering, but you can see in the second photo that I added the dimensional stickers, rick rack and a prima flower. The second photo also shows the recipe card dividers that I made. I simply cut the appropriate size from red card stock. The tabs were created with a Stampin' Up punch and the images were stamped onto the tabs using a Crafty Secrets set called "Kitchen Classics". Thanks for stopping by! Hi! It's another week of peeking into our workspaces over on the Sassy Cheryl Blog . The sassy's are taking a peek at what everyone else is doing this week! It's fun and an easy way to possibly win a Sassy Cheryl digital image. This is my space this week...... I decided to make a recipe board for my mom as a Mother's Day gift. She remodeled her kitchen a couple of years ago with a vintage theme in mind. I hope this project fits right in! You can see all of my supplies below. I found a thin metal wall hanging at JoAnne's for $3.00 and covered it with October Afternoon designer Papers using Mod Podge. Most of the real decoration is from a Crafty Secrets kitchen themed sticker sheet. It went pretty quick after I got started. Here is the completed project. The base is metal so magnets will hold the recipe card. I have attached a magnet to the rolling pin sticker to hold this recipe card. Thanks for stopping by!

This week it's a 'Color Splash' challenge ... inspired by the photo below. 'Color Splash' is simply black & white with a 'bit' of color. Here's my take on the challenge using Crafty Secrets Bird Notes and a lace doily. I stamped on the doily with Stazon Jet Black ink then colored the image with a Copic Marker. I lightly sponged the doily with Adirondack latte ink. I picked up the vintage lace recently at an outdoor market on Maui. It adds such a great finishing touch to vintage projects. I have created my project with Cora's vintage image as part of the Craft Secrets Challenge over on the Paper Craft Planet website. Darlene challenged us to create a project with the theme of "Thankful" for the month of November. Although not a traditional Thanksgiving card, I was happy with how this came together. I recently visited family in Missouri and got to go to some Flea Markets and found some great vintage lace. I combined the Digital Two for Tuesday image with Crafty Secrets "Thanksgiving" and "Kitchen Classic" clear stamp sets.
