Mo's Challenge #182 - Pastels

I have a quick post for this week's DP2 Challenge - Pastels .  This is one of my favorite Mo Manning images called "Going Up".  It is so sweet and makes such a quick CAS card! The image was colored with Copic Markers and the balloon was paper pieced with Memory Box gingham paper.  The sentiment is a freebie from Create with TLC .  I used shades of pink and kept it very clean and simple. The sketch is provided by Teresa Kline for the Splitcoast Stampers April Fan Club: I have also used this month's Fan Club central theme of Hope Floats .  Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!

Sassy Cheryl Challenge #163 and Cheryl's Show Me

I hope your weekend is going great where ever you are checking in from today!  It's a sunny, warm 40 degree Spring evening in Alaska.  The snow is finally starting to melt from my yard and DH just transplanted his first tomato seedlings today!  Woo-Hoo! This week's Sassy Cheryl Challenge is to create something monochomatic with our Sassy Cheryl digi's.  I used the sweet Thick as Thieves image to create my card this week: I have to be honest.  When I first started coloring the image with the new Spectrum Nior pens I bought today, I almost threw this in the trash and started over.  BUT  as I continued to color and add shading it started to "grow on me" and I kind of like it.  It's like an old-timey TV show.... kinda.  The sentiment is from Create with TLC and I thought it was appropriate for Sally and Bella.  Two friends!  As I said, the image was colored with Cool Grey Specturm Nior pens that I bought at JoAnn's today.  ...

Friends with Flair Friday

It's Friday and that means another Friends with Flair linky party.  I decided to step WAY out of my comfort zone this week and try a mixed media project.  I recently bought "Our House.... Serve the Lord" during one of the fabulous Itty Bitty sales.  I decided it would be perfect for this project. Here's what I came up with: I was inspired by the recent Mix-Ability challenge posted by Dina Kowal on Splitcoast Stamper.   She provide a great video that helped me get started.  You can watch her video HERE .   I started with various acrylic paints and used plastic wrap over the wet pain for some texture.  I applied versafine ink to drywall tape and stamped in the corners.  I also applied acrylic paint to bubble packing and stamped in the opposite corners.  Finally, I brushed on a light coat of white acrylic paint then stamped the image with Versafine black ink.  My pop of color is a red heart brad. Thanks for stopping by for a ...

Bugaboo Stella Sketch #135

Happy (almost) Friday!  I am posting my card for this week's Stella's Sketch #135.  Here's what I came up with using this week's Bugaboo Freebie Pretty Cow : Here's this week's Stella Sketch : The image was printed twice and colored with Copic Markers.  The head was fussy cut and popped up on dimension tape.  The sentiment is computer generated.  I added a machine stitched zig zag border and felt circle panel.  Thanks for stopping by for a closer look1

Bugaboo and Sketch Saturday #255

I'm back with another card using this week's Sketch Saturday card sketch.  I have combined it with this week's Bugaboo Bingo challenge.  Here's what I came up with using this week's Free Bugaboo Pretty Cow image.  Isn't she adorable? Here is this week's Sketch Saturday sketch: Here is the Bugaboo Bingo card for this week's challenge: My card includes a Bugaboo image, pearl and (stitched) border.  I printed the image two times and colored with Copic markers then the head was popped up on dimension tape.  The sentiment was computer generated.  This sweet Thank You card will be going to my sister for her stash.  She has two girls with Birthday parties this Spring which means sending out Thank You notes. Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!

Mo's DP2 Challenge #181 - Spring

I have a card to share for this week's DP2 Challenge .  Our challenge this week is to create something with a Spring theme using our Mo Manning images.  I am also submitting this for Mo's Dream Team call.  Wish me luck!! Mo recently released six brand new Spring themed images during a fabulous blog hop.  Of course, I had to purchase several of these sweet images right away!  I must say that In the Spring is one of my favorites.  I couldn't wait to color this sweet image! Here's what I created: Here's a close up of the colored image.  I used Copic Markers and various Prismacolor pencils for shading.  I finished by shading with a charcoal pencil.  The background was created by making small pen dots with two shades of Copic markers.  My style tends to be somewhat clean and simple.  I hoped to keep most of the focus on the adorable image and sentiment by staying simple with the design. Thanks for stopping by for a cl...

Timeless Tuesday and Sketch Saturday

Hope you are having a great weekend!  It was beautiful today in Anchorage... 40 degrees and sunny.  I still have about 2 feet of snow in my yard, but the streets are clear and the snow is melting. I'm posting my card for this week's Timeless Tuesday Challenge to Frame It!  I have also used  Sketch Saturday's Challenge #255 design provided by Jen. Here's my card using Flourishes "Stitched for You": This will be going to my Mom next month for Mother's Day.  She is currently a knitting fiend!  Beautiful creations and she really enjoys the craft.  The image was colored with Copic markers and Framed with a Spellbinder nestibilities die.  The yummy designer papers are from MME Quilting Bee paper pad. Thanks for stopping for a closer look!

Sassy Cheryl Digi Challenge #162 and Show Me

Sassy Jackie is our hostess over on the Sassy Cheryl's Digi Challenge blog this week.  She has challenged us to use the following sketch with our Sassy Cheryl images: I'm all about sketches, but this one had me stumped!  I decided to work backwards and started with the square panels first.  I decided to do a patchwork with the squares and here is what I came up with: This is VERY unusual for me this week!  Gasp!!  I am not featuring Sassy Sally in my card.  Sorry, Cheryl, I promise she will be back on my blog next week! This cute bird image is included in the Quite Inspiration set and decided that he could hold his own on this card.  I printed the image twice, colored one in shades of yellow with copic markers then fussy cut the image.  It was layered over the first image which was cut with a Spellbinder square nestibilities die.  I added glossy accents to the heart and a couple of rhinestones to finish. I am also sharing this wi...

Friends with Flair

Happy Friday!  Friday's are great, but I especially look forward to sharing with all of the Unity gals each week for Friends with Flair .  Angela gives away such fabulous prizes - one for a blog participant and another for a commenter.  How fun is that!? Here's what I have created this week using an Itty Bitty called " Diploma Cap & Gown ": It's a somewhat unconventional graduation card, but it's going to my cousin who is graduating from college next month.  She is very artistic and will be teaching elementary level students in rural Alaska next Fall.  I am SO proud of her! I splattered various distress inks with a paint brush on the card base.  Various Memento inks were applied directly to the stamp for the rainbow effect.  I added a rhinestone swirl arrow from Kaiser as a finishing touch.

There She Goes and Tuesday Morning Sketch

I have a quick card to share for this week's There She Goes Challenge - TSG 203 Just Because.   TSG is also sponsoring this week's Tuesday Morning Sketch #194 .  I love me a good sketch! Here's the sketch we were asked to use: Here's the card I created for both challenges using There She Goes Jungle Out There : This set is so much fun and the images are big... perfect for cards or scrapbooking! The elephant image was colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut.  I had the negative frame in my stash and decided this was the perfect sketch to use them!  I tucked a little cheesecloth behind the frame for some extra texture (which I Love!) and layered different papers from the MME Breeze paper pad.  Easy Peasy!  Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!  I hope you get a chance to play along this week.

MelJen Designs Challenge #155

This week's Meljen Designs is "Round and Round " - to include circles on our card.  Here's what I came up with using MelJen's Mama Whale image: The sketch is from this week's Sketch Saturday #254 challenge: The background panel for the card was created by sponging the negative of several Spellbinder circle dies.  This was the challenge for this week's Splitcoast Stampers Mix-Ability challenge.  The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with baby oil. Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #161 - Anything Goes!

Where has the week gone?!  I am running so late with my challenge card.  This idea has been rolling around in my brain for a few days.  I finally got around to putting it all on paper today!  Yikes! Jackie's is our hostess this week on the Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge blog.  She has set the theme as "Anything Goes".  Which worked out perfectly for my little scene! I was lucky enough to win one of Cheryl's images over on the " Show Me " challenge blog.  I chose the sweet new Sassy Sally image Quiet Inspiration .  Here's the card that I came up with: The image was colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut and layered on an embossed vellum sky and die cut grass.  The cloud sentiment was created in Word.  The bottom sentiment is from Create with TLC . Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!  I hope you have a fabulous week.

TSG202 and Birdie Brown

I hope you are having a fabulous weekend!  I am stopping in with a quick post for this week's There She Goes and Birdie Brown .  Here's the card that I created using Torico's April Freebie image and TSG color combo of blue, yellow with a neutral: If you love this image as much as I do, be sure to hop over to Torico's blog and pick it up!  You have until April 30 to create something .... you might even win a free Birdie Brown digital image. Friends With Flair and Bugaboo Challenges

I am sharing the following with Friends With Flair and Bugaboo this week. I immediately fell in love with this week's new release from Bugaboo!  I bought it and created my card the same night.  I have layered it over Unity's Misplaced Chevron background.  The color combination is this week's Splitcoast color challenge - Baja, Cameo Coral and Black.  The colors seemed so retro that I thought they would be perfect with this image.  I have also included a photo of the inside sentiment which is included with the Bugaboo digital set. Thanks for stopping for a closer look! I am submitting this for the following challenges: Unity Friends with Flair Bugaboo - April Anything Goes Bugaboo - Stella Says Sketch Challenge 134

Pick Your Favorite - SNSDC100

Happy Friday and Welcome to another Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge. Can you believe it's the 100th Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge?!?  We think that's something to celebrate!!  Keep reading to find out how you could win 3 Sweet 'n Sassy Digis of your choice.   Before we get to this week's challenge, we have a bit of sad news.  This is not only the 100th challenge, it's also the last challenge for the Digi Challenge Blog.  The clear stamp and dies part of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps business is really booming and Korin is finding herself in the hard spot of having to let some things go.  The Digi Challenge Blog is one of the things that will have to be discontinued.  Digi stamps will still be available on the website, there just will no longer be regular digi releases.  Korin may release new digis from time to time but that will be subject to her available time. Our challenge this week is for you to pick a past challenge and use ...

Mo's Digital Challenge - Fabric

I'm sharing a quick post tonight for this week's challenge over on Mo's Challenge blog .  This week we were asked to use fabric.  I pulled out this decorative felt border strip from my stash and here's what I came up with: Here's a close up of the colored image.  I used Mo's "I Dunno redux" image.  The sentiment is from Create with TLC where you can always find the perfect coordinating digital sentiment. The image has been colored with Copic Markers and prismacolor pencils.  General's charcoal pencil has been added and blended for shading.  I LOVE this effect!  I added a light layer of Wink of Stella glitter to the tutu.  I don't think the photo shows this very well.  There is also a layer of glossy accents on her boots. Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!  I haven't been able to play along with Mo's challenge for a few weeks and was determined to join in this week!  Whew!  I made it with only hours to spare....

Sassy Cheryl's sketch Challenge

Can I share a secret with you?  I am a sketch challenge addict!  Almost every card that I create starts with a sketch in mind.  So, when I saw the fun sketch that Judy provided for this week's Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge , the creative juices started flowing. I have had this image on my workdesk for a couple of weeks.  So, this week I used Sam's Rainy Day for my project: I am including a close up of Sam and her paper pieced umbrella.  This is one of my current color combinations.  I have used various designer papers from My Mind's Eye Reunion paper pad.  Sam was colored with Copic Markers and shaded with General's charcoal pencil and blended.  The background was sponged with Memento ink.  This digital image has been retired, but due to overwhelming request, Cheryl is bringing back some of the retired images in sets.  You can find Sam in a set HERE . I am also submitting this for Cheryl's Show Me Challenge which...

SNSDC99 - Cute and Cuddly Animals

Happy Friday and welcome to a new Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge .  This week we are asking you to create using your cute and cuddly animal digis. Here's what I came up with using Sweet 'n Sassy's Dilbert Duck : I pasted the digital image into Word on my computer and used the "Rotate" option under Page layout and flipped the image horizontally.  This gave me a pair of ducks looking at one another.  The sentiment was also created in Word.  The clouds were sponged with Memento ink and a deckle template.  The fence and grass dies are also from Sweet 'n Sassy. A few things to keep in mind as you join the Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge this week: Digital images are required.  You don't have to use SNSS, but we love it when you do and you might get a chance for the Spotlight! Please use keyword SNSDC99 when uploading to online galleries. Don't forget to stop by the blog and check out the inspiration provided by my team members. ...
