Creative Moments Challenge - Gone but not Forgotten

Cheryl Grant, owner and artist of Sassy Cheryl Digital stamps creates the most adorable scenes.  Although she no longer has a digital store you can find a limited selection of her digital images at Whimsy .  This particular image seems to be retired. The image was colored with Copic Markers and Prismacolor pencils.  A cloudy sky was created with masking and ink blending.  The sentiment tag is from Memory Box Co. with a hand doodled border to finish the card. I'm sharing my card with the following: Creative Moments Challenge:  #281 Gone But Not Forgotten Word Art Wednesday:  Anything Goes Simon Says Stamp Monday: 4-Legged Friend Simon Says Stamp Wednesday:  Anything Goes

Sassy Cheryl Challenge #209 - Two Dies and some Purple

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I'm stopping by with a quick post for this week's Sassy Cheryl Digi Challenge Two Dies and Some Purple Cheryl's shop is full of new and adorable images. I bought " Say Cheese Please " during the recent Memorial Day sale and couldn't wait to color and play. Sorry for the poor quality photo.  I still haven't found a good way to photograph scrapbook layouts! Here's a close up of the sweet image: I'm also sharing my project with Cheryl's Show Me Thursday Challenge . Thanks for stopping by!  I always enjoy reading your comments.

Sassy Cheryl Challenge #206 - Just Foolin' Around

This week's Sassy Cheryl Challenge is  " Just Foolin' Around ". Dawn is hostessing this week and she has asked us to use a "silly" Sassy Cheryl image for our project.   The first "silly" image I could think of was one of Cheryl's vintage images called "Sassy Opinion".     I kept the design clean and simple to focus on the silly image and coordinating sentiment.  A paper border from Basic Grey Olivia Paper pad and twine finish it off.     The sentiment is continued on the inside.  It's so perfect for this image, don't you think?  The digital sentiment is from Create With TLC . I am also sharing this card with the ladies over on the Sassy Cheryl Show Me Challenge #142 . Be sure to check out both challenges this week!  Cheryl hosts a fun and easy challenge every two  weeks that only involves your camera and a blog post. It doesn't have to be about crafty project...

Sassy Cheryl, MFT sketch & Simon Says!

I hope you are having a great weekend! We've had a beautiful, sunny day here in Anchorage. We even managed a hike with the pups earlier today! I'm stopping in to share a card that I created for Mother's Day. The sweet image is from Sassy Cheryl. I searched my stash of digis this week and couldn't resist using " Pigtail Gabby " again for this card. This week's Sassy Chery challenge is "Lot's of layers ". The sweet Gabby image was colored with Copic Markers and Prismacolor pencils.  It was fussy cut and applied with foam  dimension tape.  The sentiment is from Create with TLC and  called " Happy Mother's Day to Everyone ". Here's a close up of the colored image.  So much fun to color!   Except for the freckles, I couldn't help but think that "Gabby" looks like my little niece!  Maybe that's why I've been drawn to this image  so much recently.  LOL! ...

Sassy Cheryl - Anything Goes

Oh, how I have missed playing along with the Sassy Cheryl challenge these past few weeks! (So much crafting and so little time.) I purchased " Pigtail Gabby " a few  weeks ago ... she is absolutely adorable. Love those pigtails and wisps of hair  covering her sweet face! This week's challenge over on the  Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge blog is " Anything Goes ". I'm taking advantage to get a head start on  my Mother's Day cards. A clean and simple design focusing on the adorable image.  The top border is from Simple Stories, as well as, the die cut sun.  The Mother's Day sentiment is from  Create with TLC.  The digital set is called " Happy Mothers Day to Everyone ". I colored the image with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils. Charcoal pencils were used for shading.  I had so much fun coloring this new image! I am also entering the card into the following challenges: ...

Sassy Cheryl # 202 - All About Hearts

Happy Wednesday! The gals over on the Sassy Cheryl Digi Challenge have a fun new challenge going "All About Hearts". They must have known that I needed a little extra crafty time because now the challenges are every two weeks!   Is it a sign of old age when the week seems to Fly By?! I have used a vintage Sassy Cheryl image "Sassy Sally and her Raggedy Ann". I'm not sure if she is available in the store, but there are tons of fun Sassy Sally images available! A fun clean and simple design with a felt die cut heart,  vintage button and baker's twine.  I snuck in another wood veneer heart under the sentiment. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things. I'm also sharing my card with the following challenges: Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge:  We Love Stamps Sassy Cheryl's Show Me Challenge #138 Thanks for stopping by!  I always enjoy reading your comments.

Sassy Cheryl Challenge #198 - Anything Goes

I am back to share another scrapbook layout. While the inspiration  is with me, I'll make the most of it! Today's layout is for this week's Sassy Cheryl " Anything Goes " Challenge and Inspired by Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Ice Inspiration" and Catch the Bug Challenge Blog " Winter Wonderland ". Sorry about the quality of the photo!  I haven't found a really good way to photograph the page except to lay them on the floor which generally causes a glare.  UGH! I recently took advantage Cheryl's sales and bought this adorable snowman for $1.  I knew he would be perfect with my ice sculpture layout. You can find " A Frosty Cup of Cocoa " in Cheryl's online shop. I colored him with Copic Markers and applied a light layer of glitter ink from a Wink of Stella Brush. The hat and scarf were paper pieced. I'm also sharing with the ladies over on the Sassy Ch...

Sassy Cheryl Challenge #183 - Lilac and Lavendar

When I saw the Sassy Cheryl challenge post for this week I thought to myself "this is going to be hard". Shades of purple are definitely not my go-to color!  But, I took the challenge and I must say that I'm happy with the creative result! I was one of the lucky winners of last week's Sassy Cheryl Show Me Challenge .  Being a big fan of Sassy Sally, I knew I had to get the newest " Rainy Day Blues " image featuring Sally and Bella.  Aren't they adorable?  They truly look so disappointed in the rain that has probably ruined some fun outdoor adventure that they'd planned! The digital image was colored with Copic Markers, Prismacolors pencils and blended with baby oil. The image was layered on Gina K Designs Pure  Luxury paper and Wisteria Lane designer papers. Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!  I am also sharing this with the Sassy Gals over on the Show Me   challenge blog this week.

Sassy Cheryl Challenge #182 - Off the Page

I have to admit, I have lost my coloring mojo these past few weeks! However, I really wanted to participate in this week's  Sassy Cheryl Challenge . This week's challenge is to create a project "off the page". My card is very clean and simple using a vintage image called " Crabby Surprise ".  I have cropped the  image and used only the crab image. The sky and sand were sponged using Spellbinder dies.   The sun was created using a MFT die-namics die and the Swissdot embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I am also entering this for Simon Says - Animal Antics Challenge. AND Sharing with the ladies over on the Sassy Cheryl Show Me blog . Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!  I always enjoy reading your comments.

Sassy Cheryl's Digi Challenge #172 - Bling in the Sun

Hello!  I hope you all are having a great weekend.  I'm posting a quick card for this week's Sassy Cheryl Digi Challenge .  Miz Dawn has challenged us to "Bling" in the sun with our Sassy Cheryl images. A couple of week's ago Miss Pat posted an adorable tent card with link to the instructions.  It looked so cute that I had to give it a try.  I've used Sassy Cheryl's " Just Hanging Around " image for my tent card.  The image was colored with Copic Markers and Prismacolor pencils.  For my bling I added Stampin' Up embossed glitter  to the yellow scallop border and yellow gems were added to the foam die sun.  Below is a close up: Also sharing with the ladies over on the Sassy Cheryl Show Me challenge this week.   It's always fun to see what everyone has going on in their part of the world.  It's easy to play along and you might win a free Sassy Cheryl digital image. Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!  Hope you h...

Sassy Cheryl Show Me #123

Since Summer is busy for everyone, Cheryl has opened up the Show Me challenge for two weeks.  That means everyone has two weeks to share what's going on with a chance to win a free Sassy Cheryl Digi.  Woo-Hoo! We are experiencing very unusually warm temperatures in Alaska.  The day that I took this photo on my iPhone, Anchorage was the same temperature as Maui.  Unbelievable!  So, my post is short tonight as I need to go out and soak in some Vitamin D for the day! I am also including a collage of images that I colored while on our camping trip this weekend.  I love being able to sit outside with my Copic Markers and Prismacolor pencils to color in the sunlight.  So much fun!  So, watch out for some of these cuties to be posted in the coming weeks. Thanks for stopping by and letting me share!

Sassy Cheryl Challenge #171 - Here Comes Summer!

Miz Ann is our hostess this week for the Sassy Cheryl Challenge .  She has chosen a very appropriate theme - "Summer".  I have several favorite summer images from Sassy Cheryl, but ultimately I colored up this fun image of Sally & her sidekick Bella. I'm not sure whether Sally & Bella are peeking out to say hello or to see if there's something scarey outside the tent flap!! This image is called " Sassy Sally and Bella Go Camping ".  The sentiment is from a digital set by Create with TLC called " Shellebrate Summer ".  I was out of town and unable to play along with the recent step card challenge.  I thought a center step card would work perfectly with this image.  This is my very first attempt at a center step card.  I found an easy step-by-step tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers by the fabulously talented Frances Byrne.  You can find the tutorial HERE . Here's a little close up of the colored image.  I have used various Copic...

Sassy Cheryl Challenge #169 and Show Me

I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend!  It is an unseasonal 77 degrees in Anchorage today. This week's Sassy Cheryl Challenge is "Perfectly Pinkalicious".  I had this image printed and on my craft desk ready to be colored and this was the perfect challenge.  I always envision her big bubble as pink!  Probably from my childhood days of chewing lots of pink bubblegum. Here's what I came up with using a past freebie called "Bubble Blower": This sweet image was colored with Copic Markers and highlighted with prismacolor pencils.  The shading was done with General's charcoal pencil.  It's difficult to see in the photo, but glossy accents has been added to the bubble gum.  I have used this week's Mojo Monday sketch .  I thought it worked perfectly to carry out the bubble theme.  The sentiment is from a digital stamp set called " Playing with Bubbles " by Paulette at Create With TLC. I am also sharing this project with th...

Sassy Cheryl Challenge #167 - Lace and Handmade Flowers

This week's Sassy Cheryl Digi Challenge is "Lace and Handmade Flowers".  I used the adorable "Sally Meets Bella" image for my card this week.  I'm not positive, but I think this image may be retired.  It's so adorable that I hope Cheryl brings it back to life in her new shop! The handmade flower was made using a MFT Die-namics flower die and matching papers from the Echo Park This & That paper pad.  The image was colored using Copic Markers and Prismacolor pencils.  Shading has been added with a charcoal pencil.  Below is a close up of the colored image. The sketch is courtesy of week 258 Sketch Saturday challenge:   I am also sharing this post with the ladies over on the Sassy Cheryl Show Me Challenge Blog .   There is time left for you to enter the fun.  Hop over and check out the details!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #161 - Anything Goes!

Where has the week gone?!  I am running so late with my challenge card.  This idea has been rolling around in my brain for a few days.  I finally got around to putting it all on paper today!  Yikes! Jackie's is our hostess this week on the Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge blog.  She has set the theme as "Anything Goes".  Which worked out perfectly for my little scene! I was lucky enough to win one of Cheryl's images over on the " Show Me " challenge blog.  I chose the sweet new Sassy Sally image Quiet Inspiration .  Here's the card that I came up with: The image was colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut and layered on an embossed vellum sky and die cut grass.  The cloud sentiment was created in Word.  The bottom sentiment is from Create with TLC . Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!  I hope you have a fabulous week.

Sassy Cheryl's sketch Challenge

Can I share a secret with you?  I am a sketch challenge addict!  Almost every card that I create starts with a sketch in mind.  So, when I saw the fun sketch that Judy provided for this week's Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge , the creative juices started flowing. I have had this image on my workdesk for a couple of weeks.  So, this week I used Sam's Rainy Day for my project: I am including a close up of Sam and her paper pieced umbrella.  This is one of my current color combinations.  I have used various designer papers from My Mind's Eye Reunion paper pad.  Sam was colored with Copic Markers and shaded with General's charcoal pencil and blended.  The background was sponged with Memento ink.  This digital image has been retired, but due to overwhelming request, Cheryl is bringing back some of the retired images in sets.  You can find Sam in a set HERE . I am also submitting this for Cheryl's Show Me Challenge which...

Sassy Cheryl Challenge - Favorite Color Combo

This week Sassy Cathy has asked us to use our favorite color combo over on the Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge Blog .  Well, my current favorite has been Primary colors - blue, green, orange and yellow!  Here's what I created using the new Sassy Sally Pondering Thoughts : The sun die and sentiment are from Lil' Inkers Designs.  The sky was created using the Stampin' Up! Cloud die by Sizzix and blue vellum.  The gingham papers are from Memory Box. Cheryl's " Show Me " challenge is running for two weeks this go around.  Don't forget to stop by and link up whatever is going on in your corner of the world!  If you haven't gotten a chance to share in awhile, it's easy and you might win a FREE Sassy Cheryl digital image. Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!  I always enjoy reading your comments.

Sassy Chery Challenge #158 - Fancy Edges

Oh my goodness, I am running so behind with the Sassy Cheryl challenge this week!  I had an idea all planned out then it changed completely this weekend.  Yikes! Here's what I've created using a Noah image He Is Loved : The sentiment is from Create with TLC called Promoted to Big Brother .  The fancy edge along the top is a Martha Stewart border punch.  There is also a fancy edge to the sentiment using Spellbinder nestibilities.  The clouds were sponged and die cuts were used from My Favorite Things Woodgrain Fence and Impression Obsession grass die.  Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!
