Whew!  Where has this week gone? It has just flown by for me. But I'm stopping in tonight with a quick birthday card for this week's I{heart} sketches with a tWist at From the Heart Stamps. I took a clean and simple approach to this week's sketch AND included the color tWist!!  My card features the adorable Birthday Pup digital image. It was printed onto Stampin' Up! Whisper White cardstock and colored with Spectrum Noir and Copic Markers. The kerchief was paper pieced. I masked the images and sponged the  circle background with Memento Dandelion ink. Good Wednesday morning! I hope everyone is having a  great week. It was beginning to look like Spring had begun in Alaska then I awoke to 6 more inches of snow this morning AND still falling!! Oh well, good thing I'm joining the Spring Coffee Lovers Bloghop with this adorable From the Heart BirdBrain image. This week I chose to play with  the challenge twist and used the colors provided. I began by printing the image onto Stampin' Up! Whisper White Card stock and coloring with Copic Markers. I had this fun From the Heart image  already colored and in my folder. I decided it would be perfect for this week's sketch. I've also taken on the double twist: Yellow, Blue and Green colors Easy Does it (my interpretation is Clean and Simple) The image is Surf's Up Birdbrain and it was colored with Copic markers. An out-of-the-box technique was used and Stickles applied to the waves. Thanks for taking a closer look! My card for this week's challenge at From the Heart Stamps  features the adorable digital image Bunny Love. I kept pretty true to this week's sketch and opted for the Water Color twist. I used water color crayons  (my first attempt) applying with a paint brush. It's time another fun sketch with From the Heart Stamps. I created a card using this week's sketch... I couldn't work in the twist. My card features the new digital set Nerd Boy Balloon I had a lot of fun with this image. It's hard to see in the photo, but I added  Glossy accents to the balloon and glasses. The coordinating papers are from My Mind's Eye. Each week From the Heart Stamps hosts a fun sketch challenge  with an optional twist. You can use the sketch provided  and/or the twist. Recently while browsing the  FTHS shop I came across the perfect set for Mother's Day. Mom is Wow (Faithful Friends) Although I really like this week's sketch, I went with the optional twist and used  several dies on my card. The Classic Rectangle and Classic  Scallop Rectangle die are from Spellbinders. The speech bubble die is from MFT - Say What. The image was colored with Copic Markers and Prismacolor pencils.  A machine stitched border and ribbon finish the card. This week From the Heart Stamps has a fun sketch I {heart} Sketches with a tWist #148   The twist is to include washi tape. My card features the adorable FTHS Birdbrain Winter Scarf The digital image was printed onto Stampin' Up! Whisper White card stock and colored with  Copic Markers.  Two different washi tapes were added and enamel dots  finish the card. This week's From the Heart sketch challenge is a really fun design. I went through a couple of design ideas before settling on this one. My clean and simple version features the adorable Flappy Birthday Birdbrain  I started by digitally cropping the image and printed onto Gina K Pure Luxury card stock. I have to admit that I've become kind of a clean and simple  card style designer. At times I struggle with embellishments or fussy layers and bling..... So, when this week's sketch at From the Heart Stamps was posted I was a little intimidated. But I made it my own and came up with something simple, but with  a few floral embellishments from my stash.  Oh, and did I mention that purple is  extremely difficult for me?? With all of that being said, I really  enjoyed the creative process of this card and like how it turned out. The Spring Fence image was printed  onto Stampin' Up! Whisper White card stock and colored with Copic Markers, Prismacolor pencils and shaded with charcoal pencil.
