Art Impressions Challenges - Birds of A Feather and Anchors Away

I'm sharing a fun birthday card with two of the current AI Challenges - the bi-weekly Birds of a Feather and their monthly designer challenge with a theme of Anchors Away. My clean and simple card features the adorable Gull-Friends stamp set. This set is full of fun images and coordinating sentiments PLUS it includes die cuts.  I {LOVE} Bonnie's critters.  She really makes them come to life! I started by stamping the image with Versa Claire black ink and embossing with clear powder.  The image was colored with Copic Markers.  A lightly sponged "sky" and Copic Marker "beach" build the scene quickly.   The card was finished simply by layering onto a striped designer paper.  A coordinating sentiment and flock of flying birds complete the scene. Beccy's Place June Digital Release - Beach Bums

Beccy's Place released an adorable new digital beach set this month called Beach Bums .   I'm in Alaska where summer is in full swing!  I had so much fun creating both cards. The first design was created by coloring the digital image with Copic Markers and layering onto various papers from Echo Park.  It was finished with a fun coordinating sentiment from the set. The second design started by printing the image and coloring with Copic Markers.  I used the ink smooshing technique for the base panel.  Hero Arts Sand embossing powder was applied to Caramel card stock then ripped into strips for the sand.  I fussy cut the swimmer, added a sun die, sentiment and a couple of real star fish.
