Hero Arts Stay Crafty Challenge: Opposites Attract

The April Stay Crafty Challenge with Hero Arts is Opposites Attract - Opposite Colors or Mirror Image .  I chose to create a project by using opposite colors from the color wheel - Orange and Blue. I started by stamping the Hero Arts Antique Rose (2017) woodblock stamp onto watercolor paper.  I used various mediums to watercolor the image - Tombow marker and distress ink with Stickles applied to the center.  The image was fussy cut and layered onto designer papers from the Basic Grey Marrakech Paper Pad.  Layers of vellum die cuts, orange netting, gems and a sentiment finish the card. I would like to share my card with the following: Hero Arts Stay Crafty Challenge:  Opposites Attract Beautiful Blossoms Challenge:   #28 Anything Goes with Flowers Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge:  #252 Anything Goes Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge:   Pattern Papers

Creative Worship Stamps - Birthday Guy Stamp Set

I'm so honored to have been invited to Guest Design with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for the month of July.  I have been a customer of Sweet 'n Sassy since the beginning.  Korin Sutherland began Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps , LLC in 2007 as a small, family-owned, Christian company offering their own brand of clear stamps, dies, stencils and digital products to the paper crafting community. The SNSS products are proudly made in the USA and offer many Scripture based stamp sets.  Be on the lookout for a new company name soon - Creative Worship Stamps! Masculine designs are always challenging for me.  But when I saw the Birthday Guy clear stamp set from Creative Worship Stamps I knew it was a must-have!  This set contains four great sentiments - three are specific to the guys. I was having so much fun with the set that I created two guy cards for my stash.  Both also feature the Creative Worship Stamps Stars Die set .  The large sentiment is layered on...

Father's Day - Relax, you Deserve it!

I'm sharing a Father's Day card that will be going in the mail this week.  I purchased this wood mount stamp several years ago at my local stamp store. The company name is The Stamp Pad-Co.   This is perfect coming from Alaska!  I stamped the image and colored with Prismacolor pencils.  The image is quite large so I mounted it simply onto scrap papers from my Basic Grey stash.  A few enamel dots finish the project.  I tend to keep my embellishments to a minimum since most of my cards are mailed.  FYI - Postage will be increasing again next month!! Power Poppy Creative Confetti Challenge - Quick Color!

While Alaska may be a little behind everyone else with gardening I decided to get my floral fix with Power Poppy this weekend!  I'm joining the current Quick Color challenge with a card featuring their beautiful Peonies digital stamp set. I followed Julie's tutorial HERE which shows how to apply a quick splash of color by stippling inks.  Love this technique! Following Julie's example, I started by stippling Memento Rose Bud ink in the centers of the flowers.  I then came back with Angel Pink Memento ink.  The leaves were stippled with Bamboo Leaves.  I finished the panel by flicking the Bamboo Leaves ink mixed with a little water using a toothbrush. Since I was already inky, I couldn't stop there!  The base panel is from Basic Grey's Fiction Paper Pad.  Before adhering the image panel, I also flicked brown distress ink.  After drying, I adhered the image panel, sequins and a ribbon to finish the card.  I would like to share my ...

Sugar Pea Mix It Up Challenge #62

It's been awhile since I've gotten the chance to play along with SugarPea Designs monthly Mix It Up Challenge .  This month's inspiration board really caught my eye. I found the perfect diagonal designer paper for the base panel in my Basic Grey stash.  The duck image from SugarPea Quackers set was colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut then adhered with dimensional tape.  The sentiment and cattails were stamped from the same set.   Sometimes clean and simple is tough for me!  This went together so quickly and I'm pleased with the final design.  I'm also joining the AAA Cards CAS challenge with stamping along the edge.
