Growing in Unity - Day 5

Welcome to Day 5
of my week as the
veteran Growing in Unity gal!

If you have missed out on Days 1 - 4,
please be sure to
leave a comment on each post.
This will increase your chances
of winning a fun grab bag of
yummy red rubber Unity Stamps.

 I have been featuring images
from Phyllis Harris and her
wonderful children's illustrations
all week.

Today I am sharing
and
(Both are on sale now at $12 each)

The first card was stamped onto
Stampin' Up! Whisper White card stock
and colored with Copic Markers and
Prismacolor pencils.  A few embellishments
and zig zag machine stitching.

The second card was stamped onto
Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake and colored
with Prismacolor Pencils.  I did a variety
of out-of-the-box technique with
the balloons.  Machine Stitched border and
pearls finish the card.

I'm also sharing a few Phyllis Harris
images that I colored with Prismacolor
pencils while I was on vacation.

I have really enjoyed reading your
sweet comments this week.

There were a couple of questions
about the Prismacolor pencils.
They are a soft artist grade colored pencil.
They glide like butter and blend beautifully.
My only tip when coloring on Kraft
is to use bright/bold colors.
(Hope this helps!)

Finally, I'm sharing a couple more
photos from my home state - Alaska.

Thank you for stopping by this week!

Cynthia those cards are just so beautiful. Really love the giraffe and the wind looks like it is blowing. Also like your pictures of Alaska - which I would love to visit some day.

Cynthia, I'm so sorry I missed this week - been a bit crazy but your cards are beautiful! The giraffe is just in time if you have seen that there is a sweet giraffe in New York, April, ready to birth a baby any day now! So sweet! And, you live in the one state I would move to in a heartbeat! Thank you for your wonderful cards!

Love both the stitching and the "outside the box" techniques. So inspired. Taking something to color is also a great idea and something I could do on shorter trips too.
