  This month Hero Arts is hosting a challenge of rainbows.  I pulled out the May 2020 My Monthly Hero Kit and made a fun rainbow background.  The image was stamped repeatedly then colored with Tombow markers.  I added Stickles for a touch of dimension and sparkle.  I finished with a coordinating sentiment from the kit and a couple of enamel dots.   I'm playing along with the current challenge at Hero Arts - Bring on Spring.  I recently purchased the March 2017 Hero Arts Monthly Kit.  I LOVE the whimsical animals and fun vegetable images.  The best surprise??  The "garden" die!! Oh my, what fun I'm having with it.   All of the images were stamped onto watercolor paper, colored with Tombow markers and die cut.  You can see how the veggies and bunnies fit into the "garden" die.  The fence die was also included in the kit.  The grass die is from My Favorite Things.  The base panel was sponged with Distress Inks and an MFT sunray stencil.   I'm sharing a card with a couple of challenges featuring the newest Hero Arts Kit.  This tropical themed kit is full of fun images and sentiments.   I started by creating the water using Hero Arts Sea and Sky Stencil and Danube Blue Memento Ink.  The sky was blended with various distress inks.  I chose a few images from the kit for my scene, colored with Copic markers and die cut.     I finished the scene with a coordinating sentiment from the February MMH kit.  Finally, I layered the clean and simple design onto Gina K Passionate Pink cardstock for a pop of color.  I would like to share my card with the following:  A Blog Named Hero: February Anything Goes AAA Cards #183 One Corner + Create A Scene Word Art Wednesday:  Anything Goes #477 - #478 Cute Card Thursday: #672 Anything Goes  

  I'm joining a couple of challenges with a clean and simple birthday card featuring the July 2018 Hero Art Monthly Kit. I found this "new to me" kit on a swap/sell website recently.  I was super excited to find someone willing to share this adorable kit!  I couldn't wait to play with it. Of course, I found my inspiration on the Hero Arts blog from design team member Jessica Frost-Ballas.  For my CASE of the card I opted for Hero Arts Blue Reactive ink, the heart balloon and a Hero Arts woodblock sentiment - C2770 Enjoy Your Birthday. I love these silhouette style images which allow for a quick card.   I'm playing along with the Hero Arts Challenge featuring their layered pumpkin patch kit.  This was so fun to create and perfect for Fall themed projects. This kit is still available in the shop at $34.99 it's a steal!  This was my first time to play with the kit, but I'm looking forward to using this for my Thanksgiving cards this year. I've included the Hero Arts recipe for the layers.  It's a perfect jumpstart for using this kit.  Now, I can play with a variety of colors.   I pulled out the June 2020 MMH kit to play along with the current critters challenge.  I absolutely LOVE this kit!  Of course, I had to purchase this kit since it's perfect for Alaska! I started with a distress ink base then embossed the borealis cling stamp.  The emboss resist technique is perfect for this background.  I used the Hero Arts blue reactive ink on the edges.   The critters (whale & eagle) were embossed and die cut.  To finish the scene, I die cut the light house which came with the set.  It is difficult to see in the photo, but I applied vellum to the lighthouse to represent light rays. The current Hero Arts challenge asks us to find inspiration on the Creativebug website.  Libby is the hostess of a 31-day Hero Arts series showcasing different stamping techniques.  I chose Day 22 - Emboss Resist - for my design. I started by stamping the borealis background stamp from the June 2020 MMH kit onto a panel of Hero Arts lavender card stock.  It was then heat embossed with clear detail powder.  I followed by sponging over the embossing with Wilted Violet and Dusty Concord distress inks.  I finished with lightly sponging Black Soot distress ink around the edges. I stamped the whale tail and spout (from the same kit) in VersaClaire black and heat embossed with clear powder.  It was die cut and layered with a coordinating sentiment on the card.  I finished with a few sequins. Happy Saturday everyone!  I'm sharing my very first card created with the June 2020 Hero Arts Monthly kit.  I have to admit, I loved the aurora borealis background stamp but I was a little intimidated by it.   When I received my kit I was SO surprised at how big the cling stamp actually is. I started by stamping with versafine the background stamp onto the black water color paper that came with the kit. I then used white embossing powder and followed with various Pearl Ex paints to "create" the borealis.   Here is a photo of the background before the card was assembled.  I finished the card by layering the mountain and tree dies from the kit.  The whale image and sentiment were stamped with VersaClaire and adhered.  The panel was adhered to a white A2 card base. I'm sharing a clean and simple card with a couple of challenges.  The current Hero Arts challenge is One Layer Cards.  I have combined my one layer card with the Made In Minutes challenge at AAA Cards. My card features the May 2020 Monthly Kit from Hero Arts.  It is such a fun set with so many great accessories.  How could I resist?! The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils and Tombow markers.  I highlighted the clouds with the decobrush included with the kit.  This was my first attempt and they are fun! I'm joining the current Hero Arts Stay Crafty Challenge - Small Joys.  We have been asked to use the smaller images and dies from our Hero Arts sets.   I pulled out the January 2019 monthly kit and created a clean and simple one layer design with a few of the smaller images and dies.  The clouds were created by masking and sponging distress inks then spritzed with water. The images were colored and die cut.  A wood mounted Hero Arts stamp A2460 Precious Thank You finishes the card. I'm so excited to join the first Stay Crafty with Hero Arts challenge.  Their first challenge is about encouragement.  Who wouldn't be encouraged with this yummy cuppa latte!!  I started by stamping the coffee cup and foam from the August 2018 Hero Arts Kit. The images were colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut.  I wanted the card to be bright and cheerful so I pulled out Doodlebug Designs Cream & Sugar paper pad for the panels.  Of course, I finished with a few gems and a coordinating sentiment. The card design was inspired by one of the current Mojo Monday sketches. I'm sharing a last minute entry for the current Hero Arts Challenge - Embossing.  My card features an image and sentiment from the Hero Arts Monthly Kit for August 2018.  There were lots of yummy coffee images and coordinating sentiments in this set.  Love it! I decided to use a partial emboss technique that I haven't done for awhile.  I really like the effect and it's so simple!  You need a chipboard/cardboard shim with the center shape die cut.  I layer it on top of my emboss folder and run it through my Cuttlebug with the A and C plates.  Tim Holtz On The Go emboss folder was used for the panel. The embossed panel is Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake layered onto SU Real Red card stock.  The image has been colored with Copic markers.
