I'm playing along with the current challenge at Paper Smooches.  Happy Things can pretty much include all of the Paper Smooches stamps!  I pulled out one of my favorites - Birthday Buddies .   The image was stamped onto kraft cardstock and colored with Prismacolor pencils.   I kept the design clean and simple with lots of "white space" for the current AAA Cards challenge. I haven't had a chance to play along with the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge for a few weeks due to design team committments and plain old life. Today this little card came to me and I decided it would work for this week's Anything Goes Challenge. The image panel was water colored with Tim Holtz Distress reinkers. The fish image is from Paper Smooches Stamps " Birthday Buddies ",  colored with Copic Markers and highlighted with yellow Wink of Stella brush. Of course, I had to add a googlie eye  to the fish image! Thanks for stopping by!  I always enjoy reading your comments.

This week's Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge is Anything Goes!   Since it's the New Year, I've combined a new set with  the sentiment from an older set from Paper Smooches for my project. This is the first week of the month and that's Trend Watch Challenge on the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge Blog .  The above photo is our inspiration piece for this week. I chose to focus on the variety of patterns and used that in paper swatches vertically along the edge of my card. Here's what I came up with: The images and sentiment are both from Paper Smooches " Birthday Buddies " set.  It's such a fun set full of whimsical animal critters.  The tall, skinny card size is 6.5 x 3.25 in keeping with the stack of birthday buddies.  I did a double line of machine stitching to finish off the border of paper swatches.  The designer papers are from Jillibean Soup Blossom Soup mini pad. This is the inspiration photo that Kim has posted for the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge this time around. I had to really think about this one and decide how I wanted to use the inspiration. There were so many options! Finally, the card evolved out of a need for a Birthday card for my brother-in-law. Below is the result: I took inspiration from the frames by using a few critters from Paper Smooches " Birthday Buddies" set. I tried to keep with the colors I found in the photo as well. The birthday sentiment is from Paper Smooches " Sentiment Sampler ". I think Kim's handwritten sentiments are so much fun! Thanks for stopping by!
