Sassy Cheryl's Show Me #109

We awoke to -10 degree temperatures in Anchorage this morning.  If that wasn't enough fun for the day, when I went to get my car out the garage for church, the garage door was frozen.  Ugh!  DH had already left for work so I got to stay home all day. Since I had a little extra stamping time today, I decided to put together an altered composition book.  My mom likes to use a journal when they take trips.  I recently bought this adorable camera embellishment at Mike's in the $2 bin.  So, I thought, why not make a travel journal?! Here's the supplies that I used: Here's the finished book: Easy peasy!  After I glued the designer paper to the book, I trimmed and sanded the edges.  In all, it only took about 30 minutes to put together.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!  Now I have to get this in the mail so my Mom can use it on her next trip! Don't forget to take a photo of what you've been up to recently.  It's...

SNSDC89 - It's All White

It's finally Friday and time for a new Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge .  This week our challenge is for you to use ALL white papers.  You can emboss, ink or color them but they must all be white. Here is the card that I created using one of the new January digi images " Too Tweet ": I layered the white cardstock after applying various dry embossing.  The sweet bird image was colored with Copic markers and highlighted with prismacolor pencils.  Red twine and pearls were added as accents. Please remember to use digital images ONLY for the challenge.  You don't have to use SNS digi images to play along but we sure do love when you do! When uploading to online galleries, please use the keyword SNSDC89 . For EVERY card you enter into our challenges throughout ...

Unity Friends with Flair

It's time for another Friday Friends with Flair blog hop with Unity Stamps.  Angela hosts a blog hop every Friday to share our Unity creations.  It's a lot of fun and you might be the random winner of a Unity prize.  Two prizes are given each week - one for a blog participant and another to a blog commenter. Here's what I came up with using an itty bitty called "Line of Love": This image is so sweet!  I wanted to keep the design CAS and focus on the sweet clothesline.  The image was colored with Copic Markers and layered on dp from MME Bramble Rose paper pad. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Birdie Brown and Sassy Cheryl Show Me

This card uses the January Freebie from Birdie Brown.  I had so much fun coloring this little image.  Check out the FREEBIE and give it a try.  You have until January 31 to link up your creation. I colored the "Amigurumi Bear" image with Prismacolor pencils and Copic Markers.  The designer papers are from Basic Grey Bittersweet.  The adorable sentiment is from Create with TLC . I am also sharing a couple of photos with my Sassy Cheryl friends from our skiing adventure yesterday. Of course, you can see that the "girl-dog" had to get into one of the photos.  The second is of the treeline and the sun beginning to set. Our boy-dog, Bud, had a little incident two weekends ago and cut his leg open.  We spent some "quality" time at Pet Emergency getting stitches and antibiotic.  Needless to say, he has been quarantined to the house until the stitches are removed and he is healed.  Never a dull moment at our house with these two!! ...

Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge - Thinking of You

This week Sassy Dawn's challenge is "Thinking of You".  Well, who could resist using the new " Penny for your Thoughts " image from the Sassy Cheryl shop?!  If you haven't heard, Cheryl is focusing on the Sassy Sally image and she is really on a roll!  Be sure to check the shop for all of the NEW images she has come up with! Here's what I came up with using the new image: In case you've missed it, Cheryl has also started a new BLOG .  Along with sneak peeks of the new designs, she has created a couple of coloring tutorials that are fabulous!  Before I started coloring this Sassy Sally image, I hopped over and watched THIS tutorial on how Cheryl colored the hair, shorts and shoes.  I had to use a couple of alternate colors on the hair, but I like the end result.  I picked up some fabulous coloring tips from the tutorial! Here's close up photo of the finished image: The clouds were created with a die cut from The Cat's Pajama'...

Bugaboo Birthday Bash Challenge Week - Add Texture

Today is the final day for the Bugaboo Birthday Bash Challenges .  We were asked to use the Friday Freebie image and add texture.  Here's what I came up with using the Freebie: I decided to keep the design pretty simple and focus on the fun Word Art collage image.  This week has been all about Bugaboo's Birthday so I tried to focus on the "Party" in the image.  I have added texture with Stickles, rhinestones, glossy accents and dry embossing. Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!  Happy Birthday Bugaboo!

Bugaboo Birthday Bash Challenge Week

Welcome to day 5 and 6 of the Bugaboo Birthday Bash Challenge Week !  This week has been so much fun for me.  I am new to Bugaboo and the images are so humorous and fun.  Tonight's post uses my very first Bugaboo image.  I spied this image on Splitcoast a few months ago and knew bought it immediately.  It is SO perfect for me and my cooking style! This card uses "JJ Cook" and is for the Wednesday challenge to create something humorous.  The image was colored with Copic Markers.  The sketch and color combo are both from this week's Splitcoast challenges. The next card is for Thursday's masculine challenge "Let's hear it for the boys".  I found this adorable moose image in the dollar bin and couldn't resist!   The moose image was colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with baby oil.  It has been fussy cut and layered on designer papers from the Bo Bunny Camp-a-lot collection.  A machine stitched border and twine w...

Bugaboo Birthday Bash Challenge Week

I am back with two projects for the Bugaboo Birthday Bash Challenge Week celebration.  Be sure to check the Blog for all of the fun challenges, blog hops and prizes. Monday is the Bugaboo ABC Day and our challenge today is Black/ White and a Pop of color!  I decided to make a magnetic fold over bookmark with the recent freebie "Lil Kitty Tree" image. The kitty image was colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with baby oil.  I have had the sentiment stamp in my stash forever and thought it was perfect with the image.  I started with a 5 1/2 x 2 inch piece of cardstock which was scored and folded at 2 3/4 inches.  A scrap piece of gingham was applied, the sentiment was stamped and applied with a single rhinestone.  Of course, the kitty was fussy cut and applied slightly off the edge of the fold.   I cut two small self sticking  strips of magnet and applied inside the bookmark.  This will hold my place nicely in my book! T...

This week's Sunday Challenge " Stella Says Sketch " has a twist - use something in 3's on the card.  Here is the sketch: I used a recent Bugaboo Freebie "Lil Kitty Tree" for my card.  He was colored with Copic Markers and a sentiment from There She Goes was added.  Of course, my 3's is the row of pearls.  I used papers from my stash with the cute image - Retired Stampin' Up! "Petals & Paisley's" designer paper series. Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!  I hope you get a chance to play along in the Bugaboo Birthday Bash Celebration.

Good morning!  I am sneaking in my entry for this week's " Stella Says Sketch Challenge " .  This is my first time joining the Bugaboo Challenges.  This card also qualifies for the Saturday Challenge - Anything Birthday .  I recently bought several adorable images during one of their fabulous year end sales. Here is the sketch provided for the challenge: Here's my take on the sketch using Stella's "Firemen Call" image and sentiment: I had so much fun coloring this image and adding all of the glitter.  Here is a photo of the inside sentiment as well.  This humorous card will be going to my aunt later this month who happens to be 9 months older than I.  Of course, we don't REALLY have that many candles yet, but it's fun to giver her a hard time!  I hope she enjoys it. I am also sharing this humorous card with my friends over on the Sassy Cheryl Blog for this week's " Show Me " challenge. Thanks for stopping by for a ...

SNSDC87 - Use a Coffee, tea or hot cooca image

Wow, can you believe that it's Friday already?  And we are almost half way through January! It's time for a new Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge.   This week we are challenging you to use an image with a hot beverage included - coffee (my personal favorite!), tea or hot cocoa.  I have used the sweet Kiwi Koala's Cuppa image for my card.  The sentiment is from the " Hot Cocoa Sentiments " set. The image was colored with Copic Markers and Glossy Accents was added to the cup.  While surfing the web recently I found a sample using this fabulous card layout.  I love the tag border and it was a great way to use some of those scraps laying on my desk.  The image was combined with designer papers from the Bo Bonny Snow Day Paper pad collection. Please remember to use digital images ONLY for the challenge.  You don't have to use SNS digi images to play along but we sure do love when you do!   When uploading to online gall...
