Scene Building with Galaxy Background and Faux Center Step Card Fold

Thank you for stopping by for a closer look at this week's project for Pajama Crafter Stamps ! For today's card we'll be combining ink blending, galaxy background, wobbler action and a Faux Center Step (Stair) Card for a fun outer space scene. Ink Blending  I began by creating the blended galaxy background with green and violet distress inks.  The colors were randomly blended onto my 4.25 x 5.50 card base. A deeper violet distress ink was blended from the edges of the base panel toward the center, followed by black soot distress oxide ink blended from the outer edges of the card base panel inward. Lastly, white acrylic paint thinned with a bit of water was splattered randomly across the panel with a paintbrush, creating the effect of stars. Stamping and Cutting The adorable astronauts, rocket, and asteroid images from the Such an Asteroid stamp set were stamped, colored with Copic markers, and fussy cut. A mini wobbler was attached to the astronaut to create a fun “no ...

Art Impressions Challenge #386 My Favorite Peeps

I'm joining the current challenge at Art Impressions with a fun faux center step card design.  My card features Art Impressions Loads of Fun set.  The set has great coordinating sentiments for the images. I decided to use the faux center step card fold to focus on the main image.  I think the design gives the impression that she is surfing the waves!  Love it! I created the faux step card using this pattern from The Stamp Camp website.     The finished card folds down for mailing in an A2 envelope.  The image was colored with alcohol markers, die cut then layered onto the faux step panel.  Designer papers are from my stash. I would like to share my card with the following: Art Impressions Challenge #386 My Favorite Peeps PIP Challenge #3436 Anything Goes Lil' Patch of Crafty Friends  #237 Anything Goes  Paper Funday Challenge #69 Anything Goes

I created the faux step card using this pattern from The Stamp Camp website.  The designer paper is from my stash.  I cut a few of the turtles and fish from the paper and adhered with dimensional tape.  A wave gelli sticker and a few dew drops finish the card. Beccy's Place May Digital Release - Pond Pals

Beccy's Place is featuring a cute critter digital set this month called Pond Pals.  I had so much fun coloring and creating with this set! My first project features the pre-colored seal image from the set in a Faux Center Step card design.  The image was printed directly onto the glacier background.  I printed the seal a second time, fussy cut, and adhered with dimension tape.  Snowflake dies from My Favorite Things with gems and Stickles serve as embellishment. I came across the Faux Center Step card tutorial recently.  It was so easy and I like the dimension it provides.  You can find the tutorial HERE .  The card dimensions and scoring instructions are below for convenience. The super cute hippo image was enlarged printed directly onto kraft card stock.  He was colored with Prismacolor pencils and layered simply onto designer paper with a few gems. Be sure to stop by Beccy's Place store to find this set and many others.  Beccy als...
