My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #3

Happy Monday!  I love a good sketch challenge and I'm so happy that MFT is providing their fabulous inspiration once again.   My monochromatic design began with designer papers from Stampin' Up!  I recently received the new Not-So-Basic Happy Birthday Die-namic which worked perfectly for this week's sketch.  At the last minute I decided to add a few gems. I would like to share my card with the following: My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #3 Allsorts Challenge:  #817 Shades of Blue  PIP Challenge #2507 Anything Goes Lil Patch of Crafty Friends:  #248 Anything Goes

My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #426

I recently rediscovered this adorable retired MFT set in my stash.  It brings back many memories for me of clothes (including my wedding dress) and doll clothes that were sewn by my mom and grandma.  Sweet memories!! The current sketch challenge provided the perfect opportunity to give the Sew Nifty Die-namics and stamp set some inky love. I started by selecting designer papers from My Mind's Eye Sunshine paper pad.  The base panel was machine stitched with my sewing machine that I've had since college.  I love adding machine stitching to my projects.  A great embellishment, easy and cheap! The dress forms were die cut with coordinating paper.  A pearl accent, silver die cut scissors and sentiment finish the card.  Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!  Do you pull out older sets and ink them up?  I definitely need to do this more often.  I'm sharing my card with the following: My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch:...

Exciting News and Sassy Cheryl Challenge

Hi!  I'm back tonight with some exciting news, Paulette at Create with TLC has asked me to join her Design Team!  Woo-Hoo!  I can't tell you how excited I am to join this team! If you haven't visited Paulette's store you have to check it out HERE .  She provides quality word art and tons of digital images.  Okay, on to the rest of my post!  This week's Sassy Cheryl Challenge is provided by Peggy and she has asked us to use "Red, White and Blue" with our Sassy Cheryl image. Lucky me, I won last week's Show Me challenge over on Cheryl's Blog!  Of course, I had to shop right away and picked up " Sassy Sally in her Inner Tube ".  I decided this was the perfect image to use for this week's challenge with our recent warm Alaska summer days! The main image was colored with Copic markers and the inner tube was paper pieced with paper from Jellibean Soup.  The base designer paper and "sun" used papers from the new Bas...

My Favorite Things Challenge

Above is the sketch provided for this week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club over on Splitcoast Stampers.  While reorganizing my craft room I found a stack of textured cardstock.  I thought this would be the perfect time to try the no-coloring technique that the MFT design team showcased last Fall.  This is what I came up with: This sweet Pure Innocence image " Peek-a-boo " was stamped using Memento Rich Cocoa.  The designer papers are from Pinkpaislee's Prairie Hill paper pack.  The paper flowers and leaves were made with the MFT " Upsy Daisy " Die-namics.  Here is a photo of the finished inside of the card as well.  I really want to be more consistent with finishing the inside of my cards as well! Thanks for stopping by to take a closer look!  I always enjoy reading your comments.  Have a great Memorial Day!  Thanks to all of the men and women who have served (or are serving) in our armed forces.

Sassy Cheryl #115 - Anything But Square

Sassy Pat has challenged us this week to create a card that is anything but square.  Of course, I had a couple of ideas rolling around, but this rectangle 6.5 by 3.5 card is what I came up with.  I already had "Crabby Surprise" colored so I did a little altering and this is the finished card. The image was colored with Copic Markers.  Lucky for you, this image is still available and on sale for $2.00 right now.  Check is out HERE before it's gone. The sun was created using an MFT die-namics, felt and fun foam.  A couple of dew drops were added for dimension.  A machine stitching border was added for the base and the crab was cut out and popped up.  The base designer paper is from the Echo Park Splash paper pack. Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!  I really enjoy reading your comments.
