Stampin' In Alaska

  I'm joining the current Art Impressions challenge to use the color yellow.  I was a recent winner at Art Impressions and chose Kim Hein's adorable Song Birds and Feeders Set.   The image was stamped with my Misti which gave easy alignment for the bird landing on the birdbath.  I used Strathmore watercolor paper and colored with a blender and Tombow markers. The image was die cut with Spellbinder circle and scallop circle dies.  Cardstock from Stampin' Up! - Basic Grey and More Mustard frame the image.  Seam tape ribbon, dry embossed designer paper from Graphic45, gems and leaf dies from Verve Stamps accent the card.  The sentiment is also from Art Impressions.   Amy Tsuruta hosts a monthly challenge to use our woodblock stamps.  I look forward to playing along each month as it gives me an "excuse" to look through my stash of older stamps.  This month I was in need of an Anniversary card for my cousin and her husband.  This woodblock image from Stampendous (2011) Beachfront Boat worked perfectly.  I've had this one for a while and I believe it was purchased at JoAnne's when they sold the Stampendous line of stamps. The image was stamped onto an ink smooshed (left over ink) page then cut out and layered with black card stock.  A few embossed lines were applied with my cutting board and a sentiment from Unity Stamp Company.  A coordinating border of Stampin' Up! Perfect Plum card stock finishes the card.  My clean and simple design will be going in the mail this week! The image was printed onto X-Press It card stock and colored with Prismacolor pencils and Copic Markers.  It was layered onto papers from Stampin' Up! with a simple gingham ribbon from my stash.  The sentiment is from Creative Worship Stamps With Love Clear Stamp Set .   I'm sharing a fun rocker card for the current challenge at Art Impressions.  The theme is "Farm Fresh" so I pulled out a fun chicken couple from the AI retired Bird-Brains line called Dancing Birdie & Scratch (U1831). The chicken couple was colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut.  The rocking base started with a large circle die and simply folded in half with a smaller circle of designer paper.  A couple of music note die cuts, sentiment and jute bow finish the card. This will be going to a college friend and her husband for their upcoming wedding anniversary.   My brother and sister-in-law will be celebrating their wedding anniversary this month.  I recently purchased the With Love Clear Stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps which is perfect for the occasion. I started by stamping the Bible verse with black VersaClaire ink then embossing with clear powder.  Spellbinder circle and scalloped dies were used to keep focus on the versa.  It was adhered to designer papers from Carta Bella Summer Market with dimensional tape.  A few yellow and green enamel dots finish the card.   Lotsa Layers!!  I'm joining the Penny Black Saturday Challenge with the optional Lots of Layers.   This past week I've been inspired to use up some of my designer paper stash.  Where quilters collect fabric, I seem to collect pretty papers!  Some were on sale, some were for a specific project and others... well, they were just to pretty to pass up. My Anniversary card began with this adorable hedgehog image from Penny Black's Hugs! Transparent set.  The image was heat embossed and colored with Copic Markers, die cut and layered onto several designer papers.  I recently came across an older Gina K Designs kit in my stash which included this paper pack called Wisteria Lane. I finished the card with a gingham ribbon and die cut hearts which were on my desk from other projects.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts. The image was colored with Tombow Markers then layered onto MME pattern paper and a variety of circle die cuts.  This was a fun design that used several "scrap" items from my stash.  The sentiment is a retired Stampin' Up! hostess set called Express Yourself.   I'm joining the current mood board challenge at Create A Smile.  My project features the Create A Smile Cool Cuts Summer Florals die set. I started by inking the Create A Smile Spring Garden stencil onto blue card stock.  The panel was trimmed to 4 square, the dies were arranged and a sentiment from Hero Arts added.  I finished the card with a few gems from Stampin' Up!   I needed an Anniversary card for my cousin and his wife.  I pulled out this Stampin' Up! set called Feels Like Home from their 2021 Sale-A-bration.   The image was stamped with my Misti then loosely water colored with Altenew pan watercolors.  I finished by splattering green distress ink.  A few sequins and sentiment from Stampin' Up! Express Yourself hostess set finish the card.   I'm joining the current challenge at Di's Digi Challenge Blog.  This week's theme is Wings and/or Tails.  My card features a free digital image that Di generously provided on Kit and Clowder called Squirrel Friends.  Although, the image is great for any occasion I decided to use it for an upcoming Anniversary. The image was colored with alcohol markers and die cut with a Gina Marie stitched square die.  The pattern papers and tag are from We R Memory Makers.  The embossed panel provides additional texture and is an older folder from Michael's $1 bin. The image was stamped onto water color paper and colored with alcohol ink and blended with Tombow markers.  I kept the design clean and simple by layering the image onto designer paper from Echo Park.  An arrow sticker and enamel dots finish the card.   Good morning!  I needed an Anniversary card for my aunt and uncle who have chickens.  Of course, I bought this AI Bird-Brains image with them in mind.  This is a retired image called Dancing Birdie & Scratch.   The image was colored with Tombow markers on water color paper.  The image is so large that I kept my design CAS with only the sentiment die cut and designer paper borders.   This is a special Anniversary card going to my cousin and his wife.  They will be celebrating their 5th Wedding Anniversary and just returned from Cozumel, Mexico where they honeymooned.   My clean and simple design features a lovely beach scene from Stampendous called Beachfront Boat N234.  It was stamped and heat embossed on water color paper.  I used distress ink, Tombow markers and Hero Arts Reactive inks to water color the scene.  A sentiment from Hero Arts and Stickles on the water completes the card.   I'm joining the current challenge at Di's Digi Stamps using red and pink.  My card features Di's adorable Strawberry Fields .  This made the sweetest Anniversary card for my stash! The image was colored with Copic Markers.  I water colored the strawberries with Tim Holtz distress ink, shading with Prismacolor pencil and charcoal pencil. Papers are from the American Crafts Everyday paper pad.  Gems and a sentiment from Stampin' Up! finish the card.   I'm joining the current Share Your Designs Challenge with Gerda Steiner's Moose Love clear set.  This set was a must-have since I live in Anchorage and moose are abundant.  I just love how Gerda drew the surprised expression of the bull moose! I started by coloring the images with Copic Markers and Prismacolor pencils then fussy cutting.  They were layered onto cloudy paper from Memory Box.  Memory Box dies Grassland Border and Tall Birch were used to create the scene.  A few heart dies with Stickles applied and sentiment from Hero Arts finish the card. This will be going to my aunt and uncle for their upcoming Anniversary.  They also live in Alaska and often have moose moms and calves visit at their house.  So fun!   I'm joining the current House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge with a sweet mousey image from the Stampendous Spring Mini set. The image was stamped onto a Gelli Print and colored with Tombow Markers.  A retired Stampin' Up! French Script background was stamped with Moss Green Hero Arts ink over the Gelli print.  I finished with a few SU gems and an Anniversary die cut. The House Mouse image was perfect for the mini slimline design.  I have several Anniversaries coming up and this worked perfectly.
