Elvis Presley Birthday

I hope everyone has enjoyed a relaxing Memorial Day weekend.  Thank you to all who have served or with family that are in the military.   I'm pulling out an older wood block stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms.  CHF had the licensing for the Elvis Presley stamp series in the 1990's.  Sadly, they are no longer in business.  One of so many family owned stamp companies have closed for personal or business reasons over the years. The image was stamped with Versa Clair Nocturne ink then die cut with Spellbinder Wonky Rectangles.  Panels have been matted with Stampin' Up! Taken with Teal cardstock and embellished with SU blue gems.  The base panel was embossed with a Cuttlebug numbers folder.  A gelli print panel from my stash adds to the 70's vibe.  A birthday tab from MemoryboxCo finishes the card. I would like to share my card with the following: Time Out Challenge:  #313 Playing Music Allsorts Challenge: #850 Anything Goes Paper ...

AAA Cards: CAS Game #173 Sketch + Optional Twist At The Movies

I'm sharing another quick Clean and Simple card tonight for the current AAA Cards Challenge.  The current twist is Movies.  This had me stumped until I remembered having several wonderful Elvis images in my stash from Cornish Heritage Farms.  This image and sentiment is from their Elvis Faces I set (retired). The image was stamped with VersaClaire black ink and my Misti.  I drew in the diagonal line and stamped the sentiment. Love Me Tender was one of Elvis' first movies - Not my favorite.  My favorite was Blue Hawaii... the sets, songs, storyline and clothing.  If you are an Elvis fan I would love to know your favorite of his movies! Cornish Heritage Farms Challenge #6

This week's Cornish Heritage Farms challenge is Black and White with one other color of our choice.  I pulled out my Elvis Presley Series stamps and created the following card using Stampin' Up! Tempting Turquoise as my third color. It went together really fast after I got the idea.  The base is dry embossed using a Paper Studios star emboss folder.  I added three black brads and that's it.  ***** WARNING - Only Elvis Presley fans need read the remainder of this post!!****** I am a fan of Elvis' music.  My mom and dad were also fans.  I even attended a concert in my home town in June 1977 shortly before Elvis' passing.  It was something that I will always remember!  Yes, we were way up in the bleachers, but we still went to the concert and saw Elvis Presley! Oh, and my favorite (all time) Elvis movie?  Blue Hawaii, of course!  Love the songs, the costumes, the scenery, and storyline ....... So romantic AND funny!  Oka...

Paper Smooches SPARKS

Kim has selected another inspiration photo from Pinterest for the SPARKS challenge. There is a lot of inspiration to chose from here! I decided to use the color scheme (pink, yellow, green & white) for my challenge card below: It's always nice to have an extra Birthday card handy! I used a couple of Kim's sets for this sweet Birthday card. The cupcake image is from Cornish Heritage Farms Kim Hughes Collection "Baked with Love" and the sentiment is from Kim's Paper Smooches set "Sentiment Sampler". The cupcakes were colored with Copic Markers then Stickles were applied in yellow, eucalyptus and cotton candy. Finally, the "cherry" was applied using Robin's Nest dew drops. Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!
