Clean and Simple Ink Blended Scene Building

Ahoy Matey!  This week I created an ink blended scene inspired by a fun design by Tina Wilstrop .  It was perfect for the coordinating sets from Pajama Crafter Stamps . Ink Blending and Masking I began by masking off half of the base panel to create my scene.  The sky was ink blended with various blue distress inks then the ship image from  Adventure Awaits  was stamped with VersaFine Claire pigment ink.   The fun pirate image from  Kraken Good Day stamp set was stamped, colored with Copic markers and fussy cut.  To add dimension the image was adhered with foam tape.   Creative Takeaway To finish the clean and simple scene a few gems from my stash and coordinating sentiment were added.  Even the simplest design can be eye-catching!  Pajama Crafter Stamps Products Used: Kraken Good Day  Adventure Awaits Additional Supplies Used: Copic Markers Distress Inks Blending Brush Detail scissors (for fussy cutting) Mask...

Art Impressions Challenge - Boy Oh Boy!

Funny how this group of hunters only see the cake somewhat hidden by the deer - who appears very unafraid!  Seems like something that my family hunters might do.  :) When I saw the current "Boy oh Boy!" challenge theme at Art Impressions I knew that the Ole Buck set would be perfect.  There are so many fun outdoor images and sentiments in this set. I created an ink blended background for the hunter image and used a retired Front-n-Backs fence stamp from AI as a border.  The cake image is from Art Impressions Retired Chocolate Therapy set.  I stamped, colored and fussy cut the deer.  It was adhered with foam tape for dimension. Of course, the card was finished with a fun sentiment from the Ole Buck stamp set. I would like to share my card with the following: Art Impressions Challenge:  #434 Boy Oh Boy!   Simon Says Stamps Monday:  Funny/Punny Lil Patch of Crafty Friends:  #283 Anything Goes Time Out Challenge:  #319 Pick 2 - ...

If you would like to join the fun, Pajama Crafter Stamps has you covered with several great dinosaur themed sets.  You can find them all here .  Ink Blending and Masking My card features the adorable Dinomite Birthday stamp set .  I began by stamping and masking the three dinosaur images to create my scene.  They were colored with Copic markers, fussy cut then masked to create the wood floor with a stamp from my stash.  A spotlight was created for the band by masking with copy paper and ink blending with yellow distress ink. I followed by ink blending shades of purple for the background and stamped with trio of star stamp from the same set. The fun musical scene was finished with glitter tape from my stash and a birthday sentiment from the  Dinom...

Scene Building with Ink Blending, Stenciling and Wobbler Action

I'm so excited to share my first design team project for Pajama Crafter Stamps! For today's card we'll be combining ink blending, stenciling and wobbler action for a fun underwater scene. Stenciling and Ink Blending I began by creating the blended background with various blue distress inks.  Then layered with a sunray stencil from my stash and inked with a darker blue distress ink.  I like to create my scene first which helps me to decide where to place both the focal image and sentiment. Stamping and Cutting The fish image from Mother Puffer stamp set was stamped, ink blended and fussy cut.  A mini wobbler was adhered for the swimming action. Pro Tip:   To make the most of my stamps, I used the shore image from Adventure Awaits  stamp set for the ocean floor by simply cutting out the ocean waves from the polymer stamp.   The image easily realigns on my stamping platform if I want to use it for the original design. Creative Worship Stamps - Silhouette Birthday

I'm so honored to have been invited to Guest Design with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for the month of July.  I have been a customer of Sweet 'n Sassy since their beginning.  Korin Sutherland began Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps , LLC in 2007 as a small, family-owned, Christian company offering their own brand of clear stamps, dies, stencils and digital products to the paper crafting community. The SNSS products are proudly made in the USA and offer many Scripture based stamp sets.  Be on the lookout for a new company name soon - Creative Worship Stamps! Masculine designs are always challenging for me.  But when I saw the Birthday Guy clear stamp set from Creative Worship Stamps I knew it was a must-have!  This set contains four great sentiments - three are specific to the guys. I began by sponging a colorful cloudy sky then stamping the tree and moose image from Creative Worships Forest Silhouettes stamp set .  A couple of bird dies from the Forest Silho...

Time Out Challenge is celebrating their 10th Birthday this month.  Congratulations! My birthday card features products from one of the celebration sponsors - Gina K. Designs .   I began by foiling a toner card front from Unity Stamps called Floral Background using Gina K. Bubblegum Fancy Foils .  The foiled panel was then ink blended with Tim Holtz distress inks. The tag image was also heat foiled using Gina K. Designs Birthday Essentials Foil-Mates.  Two additional tags were cut for a matting and held together with pink baker's twine.  Several gems finish the card.   I'm having so much fun as Guest Designer for Art Impressions this month!  Today I'm sharing a clean and simple design featuring Art Impressions 4931 - Road Trip Set .   I began this card by ink blending with Tim Holtz Distress inks - Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch.  Two of the buildings from the set were stamped with Versamark ink and wet embossed with white embossing powder. The group of lady travelers were stamped, colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut then adhered with dimension tape.  The finished panel was layered onto Stampin' Up! Night of Navy card stock.  A few enamel dots and coordinating sentiment finish the card. My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #652

I just received the retired MFT You're Super set by Birdie Brown from a Stamping Swap group.  I couldn't wait to ink up this sweet image.  The image was stamped, wet embossed and colored with alcohol inks then fussy cut.   I pulled out a retired MFT stencil - Ray of Light - and used distress inks for the sky.  A Memory Box Cityscape Nightline die and gems finish the card. Create A Smile - May Moodboard

I'm joining the current mood board challenge at Create A Smile.  My project features the Create A Smile Cool Cuts Summer Florals die set. I started by inking the Create A Smile Spring Garden stencil onto blue card stock.  The panel was trimmed to 4 square, the dies were arranged and a sentiment from Hero Arts added.  I finished the card with a few gems from Stampin' Up! My Favorite Things Slimline Challenge - December Mini Slimline

I'm joining the current Slimline challenge at MFT which is Anything Goes with a mini slimline size.  My finished card is 3x6.  I enjoy this size and the adorable Happy Pumpkin Season set worked perfectly for this size. The images were stamped then masked to stamp the cobble street road from On Solid Ground .  In hindsight, the brick might have been a better choice but I like the look of the cobblestones!   With the images masked, I used Memento ink to blend the sky.  I removed the mask and colored the images with Copic Markers.  A sentiment from the set finishes the scene.
