Stampin' In Alaska

  I'm getting started on my Mother's Day card with this mixed media design featuring Hero Arts Protea Flowers set and an older Eucalyptus background stamp.   The floral image was stamped onto a Gelli Print background then die cut.  A vellum panel layers over the Eucalyptus background.  Coral Mulberry paper frames the protea.  Stamped bees and coordinating sentiment are from the same Hero Arts set. Those Were the Days - Our challenge was to choose a past Stay Crafty challenge.  I chose the We Are Family Challenge from November.  Create something that can be given to a family member.   I'm sharing a one-layer clean and simple design with the current Hero Arts challenge - For the Guys .  I've used images from the May 2021 My Monthly Hero Kit.  I love this kit and hope to play with even more this week!  The fun birthday sentiment is from one of the May add-on sets called Sea You.  The waves were created with Hero Arts Sea and Sky stencil using distress inks. The CAS design and sketch was inspired by the current AAA Cards challenge.  I stamped the fish image onto a scrap of gelli print and die cut. A fun and quick way to add a little color and the "optional" critter!   I'm joining the current Stay Crafty with Hero challenge with a birthday scene.  My card features Hero Arts Color Layering Pier at the Lake clear stamp set.   I'm playing along with a couple of Hero Arts challenges tonight featuring their May Kit of the Month, Water Flow slimline stencil and Sea You set PLUS a fun reef die.   I started the card base with sponging various blue distress inks using the Water Flow Slimline Stencil.  The reef die was cut from Hero Arts cardstock.  The fish and starfish were stamped onto a scrap of watercolor paper which has been splattered with blue inks. I LOVE how this turned out!  What's more fun than enjoying the ocean in the Sun!   I'm sharing a Thank you card with the current Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge.  My card features a couple of Hero Arts wood mounted stamps bought locally - K1633 Mum Flower and C3016 Written Thank You. The mum was embossed with white powder.  I'm also joining the current Sketch Saturday challenge which is great for all of the scraps that I have in my stash.  The papers for this design is from Pebbles Garden Party Paper Pad. I finished the card with machine stitching along the designer paper edge and enamel dots.   I'm sharing a fun coffee Thank You card with the current Hero Arts Challenge.  I pulled out one of my favorite Hero Arts Monthly Kits from August 2018.   The coffee cups were stamped onto water color paper, colored with Tombow markers and blended then die cut.  The MMH Kit included a clear laquer pen and puffing emboss powder which I used on the coffee foam. The stencil background was created with Hero Arts Creamsicle and Lemon Drop inks.  A small strip of dp from my stash and a Hero Arts sentiment (C3016 Written Thank You) finish the card. Happy Saturday everyone!  I'm sharing my very first card created with the June 2020 Hero Arts Monthly kit.  I have to admit, I loved the aurora borealis background stamp but I was a little intimidated by it.   When I received my kit I was SO surprised at how big the cling stamp actually is. I started by stamping with versafine the background stamp onto the black water color paper that came with the kit. I then used white embossing powder and followed with various Pearl Ex paints to "create" the borealis.   Here is a photo of the background before the card was assembled.  I finished the card by layering the mountain and tree dies from the kit.  The whale image and sentiment were stamped with VersaClaire and adhered.  The panel was adhered to a white A2 card base. I'm joining the current Hero Arts Stay Crafty Challenge with a fun birthday card.  I picked up the cute Hero Arts wood mounted birthday cake at my local JoAnn's store this week.   The Hero Arts birthday sentiment has such a fun font and I use it often.  A birthday paper pad from Echo Park, sequins and Stickles finish the card.
