Stampin' In Alaska

  Happy Friday!  I hope everyone had a great week.   It's been awhile since I've played along with the challenges at My Favorite Things .  We have been busy with a somewhat complicated kitchen remodel this month.  I've also had design team commitments to keep up with amidst the chaos! When the yummy color combo and sketch were posted I had to make the time!  I recently purchased a retired MFT stamp and die from the Pure Innocence line called Sweet Birthday Girl.   This sweetie with her pigtails remind me of my niece.  I will be saving this one for her birthday in a few months when she turns 3.  Wow, time sure flies! The image was stamped onto X-Press It card stock, heat embossed with clear powder, colored with Copic Markers then die cut.  Designer papers are MFT Cool Collab 6x6 paper pad.  Enamel dots and a coordinating sentiment from the set complete the card. I'm joining the current sketch and color challenges at My Favorite Things.  My card features retired MFT sets - Cart Full of Friends and Li'l Pumpkin.  Such fun sets for Fall and Thanksgiving! The Pure Innocence image was colored with Copic Markers and Prismacolor pencils.  We we asked to use Steel Grey, Orange Zest, Wild Wisteria and Lavender Fields on our project.  I included two strips of orange washi tape and enamel dots in the color scheme. I'm getting a head start on my Mother's Day cards and this sweet little PI image from  MFT fit perfectly. This is now retired, but Lisa Lynn used  this sweetie recently and inspired me  to pull it out, dust it off and ink! I started by stamping the image onto Stampin' Up! Whisper White card stock. The image was masked and the  washer/dryer image from There She Goes (Sadly out of business) was stamped.  I fussy cut the scene and layered it  onto the floral paper hoping it would  appear as wallpaper. A machine stitched border and Mother's Day sentiment from  Sugar Pea Designs finish the card. Thanks for stopping by for a closer look! It's been way to long since I've  joined the fun at  My Favorite Things ! I sorted through my large collection of MFT stamps and decided to  give a little inky love to the sweet Pure Innocence "Loads of Love" (sorry, it appears to be retired!) The image was colored with Copic Markers, Prismacolor pencils and blended with baby oil. Above is the sketch provided for this week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club over on Splitcoast Stampers.  While reorganizing my craft room I found a stack of textured cardstock.  I thought this would be the perfect time to try the no-coloring technique that the MFT design team showcased last Fall.  This is what I came up with: This sweet Pure Innocence image " Peek-a-boo " was stamped using Memento Rich Cocoa.  The designer papers are from Pinkpaislee's Prairie Hill paper pack.  The paper flowers and leaves were made with the MFT " Upsy Daisy " Die-namics.  Here is a photo of the finished inside of the card as well.  I really want to be more consistent with finishing the inside of my cards as well! I couldn't resist using red felt with the MFT Die-namics rolled rose for this card. The sketch is for this week's MFT challenge over on Splitcoast. I'm also entering the card in the Fabulous Felt Challenge in the Moxie Fab World . I love the dimension and texture that felt gives to a project! I've used a digital version of the Pure Innocence "You're So Tweet" by Heather Ellis. The image has been colored with Prismacolor pencils and baby oil. I used the Leafy Flouris and Dizzy Doily Die-namics by MFT as well. A Martha Stewart border punch was used with SU Barely Banana cardstock. Well, it's Thursday again and that means another "Show Me" over on Sassy Cheryl's Blog. My sister called me a few weeks ago and asked a "favor" of me. My niece will be turning 1 year old on May 29 and my sister was looking for party invitations. Of course, all she could find was the cheesy kind of invite at Wal-mart with Dora the Explorer, etc. So, she calls her big sis and asks "Can you make a few party invitations?" Well, I can't refuse my little sister AND my baby niece can I? So, this week I'm making 16 birthday party invitations. As you can see, I'm keeping it pretty simple and did most of the work on the computer. The main image is from Heather Ellis' Pure Innocence digital image line. The dresses will be paper pieced with green, orange, pink or yellow gingham card stock. A dew drop has been adhered to the cupcake cherry for additional dimension.
