Dorcas is our hostess this week over on Mo's Digital Challenge blog . She has picked the lovely photo below for our inspiration. Here is my interpretation of the photo: I wanted to focus on the colorful flower bouquet of the inspiration photo. I decided to color " Jack and Ginger " in sepia tones to highlight the colorful bouquet that Jack has prepared for Ginger. To mimic the lovely wedding dress from the photo I have used cream for my card base and two different dry emboss folders for texture. Sorry, the bow is hiding my sentiment but it reads "Happy Anniversary". Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are having a great weekend!

Waiting for Spring......... And Waiting Some More......... I really have no excuses except that I missed posting with the Sassy Cheryl ladies last week. I guess Wednesday evening snuck up on me before I realized it! This week I decided to share a couple of photos for the Show Me Challenge since most of the ladies are already gardening, Spring cleaning and generally having lovely Spring weather! The first photo is of my car still covered with snow. We actually reached the mid-40s today so you can see some of the snow is starting to melt. :) The second photo is of our back yard. Hubby is slowly melting snow from the deck with the fire pit. Desperate times call for desperate measures! I promise to post photos of our Spring weather when it arrives in May! LOL! Kim has selected another inspiration photo from Pinterest for the SPARKS challenge. There is a lot of inspiration to chose from here! I decided to use the color scheme (pink, yellow, green & white) for my challenge card below: It's always nice to have an extra Birthday card handy! I used a couple of Kim's sets for this sweet Birthday card. The cupcake image is from Cornish Heritage Farms Kim Hughes Collection "Baked with Love" and the sentiment is from Kim's Paper Smooches set "Sentiment Sampler". The cupcakes were colored with Copic Markers then Stickles were applied in yellow, eucalyptus and cotton candy. Finally, the "cherry" was applied using Robin's Nest dew drops. Debbie is our hostess this week over on Mo's Digital Challenge Blog . Debbie has challenged us to use bling with our Mo Manning digital images. I think this little image called " On the potty " is adorable! My niece is almost ready to potty train and I knew this image was a must. Of course, the image can be used for all kinds of greetings like this "Thinking of You" card that I'm sending to my aunt. The image was colored with Copic Markers and die cut with Spellbinders Wonky Rectangles. I've combined it with designer papers from Basic Grey's Olivia paper pack. Some machine stitching finished off the edges and I added a Prima paper rose and a row of jewels. Thanks for stopping by to take a look!

It's another week of challenges on the Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge Blog . Sassy Peggy is our hostess this week and she's "Thinking Spring". When I think of Spring I think of gardening. What better image to represent Spring gardening than Farmer Sally! This is such a sweet image and so fun to color. I've used Prismacolor pencils and baby oil for part of the image. The remainder was colored with Copic Markers. Machine stitching has been added to a few of the layers. The main image was cut with Spellbinders Wonky Rectangles die cut and sponged. The designer papers are from the October Afternoon Farm Fresh paper stack. The base cardstock is Stampin' Up! Close to Cocoa and Wild Wasabi. Thanks for taking a look! This time around, Kim picked the following inspiration piece from Pinterest for the SPARKS challenge. I chose my inspiration from the round shape of the focal design. Below is what I came up with using the round shape and the cute little digital stamp that Kim is offering free this month. You might have time to pick it up HERE and play along. He's just so darn cute! I colored the image with Copic Markers E15 and E18. All of the circles for the card were cut using Spellbinders Nestibilities. This sweet little "Hi!" card is going to my BIL as a get well wish. He is a professional cyclist who had a slight accident in his last race. I hope this gives him a smile! Thanks so stopping by! This week Peggy has challenged us to use green with our Sassy Cheryl digital image. I needed to put together a Birthday card for my Mom and this was the perfect challenge to get me started! This photo is my mom with her first grandbaby. My mom is also a crafter and currently enjoys knitting. She makes all kinds of beautiful knitted creations including baby afgans for both of her grandbabies! So, what better image to use than " Little Knitter "! A few weeks ago Melanie Muenchinger , illustrator for Gina K Designs , contacted me to ask if I would create a few cards using her Stately Flowers 3 stamp set. I am sharing a card which I made with the magnolia image and sentiment from the set. I started by stamping the magnolia image on water color paper. I then used a water color brush and dye ink pads to watercolor the image. After the image was dry I spritzed the image Sheer Shimmer Spritz by Tsukineko. The Spellbinder die is the lotus pendant. A few pearls were also added. This was lots of fun to create and the water coloring gave it such a soft effect. I am still getting caught up from being away on vacation for two weeks. I really planned to play along with the Sassy Cheryl challenge this week, but time got away from me. So, I'm here to share with the "Sassette's" with this week's Show Me. You can find more details about the challenge on Cheryl's blog HERE. I'm sharing a couple of photos from our recent stay on Maui. I really enjoy the tropical flowers and especially the Bird of Paradise. This bush was at our condo. This photo was taken at the Swap Meet each Saturday in Kahalui. A local artist paints coconuts and then creates this adorable 3-D art. (You may have to click the photo to enlarge and really see what he's done!) It was so unusual and really inspirational. I have missed out sharing for the past couple of weeks. My husband and I just got back from two weeks on the island of Maui. As some of you know, the Alaskan winter has been COLD and SNOWY this year! We were very glad to escape for a little while to warm sandy beaches. This was a sunset on the beach across the street from our condo. Maui has a fabulous swap meet/farmers market every Saturday in Kahului. The Meet is held on the grounds of their Community College and these gorgeous hibiscus bushes were along the entry way. The blooms were huge! Finally, I wanted Cheryl to know that I did manage to get in some coloring while on vacation. LOL! After a day at the beach I sat at the lanai window and colored some of the digital images I had printed and brought along. You may notice a sea shell sitting by my pencils. This was the only thing I could find in the condo to hold a small of amount of baby oil to use with the Prisma color pencils! I have a few more pictures to share, but wil...
