My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #426

I recently rediscovered this adorable retired MFT set in my stash.  It brings back many memories for me of clothes (including my wedding dress) and doll clothes that were sewn by my mom and grandma.  Sweet memories!! The current sketch challenge provided the perfect opportunity to give the Sew Nifty Die-namics and stamp set some inky love. I started by selecting designer papers from My Mind's Eye Sunshine paper pad.  The base panel was machine stitched with my sewing machine that I've had since college.  I love adding machine stitching to my projects.  A great embellishment, easy and cheap! The dress forms were die cut with coordinating paper.  A pearl accent, silver die cut scissors and sentiment finish the card.  Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!  Do you pull out older sets and ink them up?  I definitely need to do this more often.  I'm sharing my card with the following: My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch:...

Graciellie Design January Release - Friends Like You

I'm so excited to share a beautiful new digital set from Graciellie Design called Friends Like You .  This set comes with a beautiful floral image and four sentiments.  It's perfect for any occasion AND it's available in Gracie's Etsy shop right now! My card started by printing the floral image two times on Stampin' Up! Whisper White cardstock, coloring with Copic Markers and then fussy cutting both images. Gracie has designed a beautiful new digital paper selection which coordinates perfectly with this set.  I chose to print two coordinating Blue & Pink Watercolor digital papers for the card base.   They were trimmed to size and then machine stitched. Machine stitching is one of my favorite techniques!  Not only does it provide a finished look, but it's a great way to adhere panels.   The colored image was applied to the based and the second floral cut out was layered with dimensional foam tape for dimension. I cho...

Your Next Stamp Sketch and Color Challenge #69

There is a new sketch and color challenge starting over at Your Next Stamp .  I have combined a YNS retired silhouette stamp called Home Sweet Home with a digital Word Art Scripture provided by Ginny Maxam over on the Christian Card Makers FB group .  I really love how well the image and Scripture work together! I recently expanded my Distress Ink collection with these three yummy colors. They were the perfect combination to create a "sunset" sky background for  the silhouette.   Each of the colors were swiped onto a plastic page protector then spritzed with  water.  (I've also used waxed paper) Then the cardstock was placed onto the ink several times until covered and I heat dried the panel to speed up the process.  Finally, I ran the panel  through my HP Photosmart printer to print the digital Scripture and then stamped the silhouette with Versafine ink. Machine stitched borders finished two o...
