Your Next Stamp Challenge #165 Sunset

I'm joining the current YNS Challenge with one of my favorite YNS sets - Keepin' It Reel .  It's perfect for all of the fisherman in our family and a great Father's day set. I followed the sunset photo prompt by inking the Sea and Sky Stencil from Hero Arts for the background of the scene.  The "sand" was created with torn brown cardstock.  I lightly inked the edges for dimension. This will be going out to my Father-in-law next week.  Hope he likes it! I would like to share my slimline card with the following: Your Next Stamp Challenge #165 Sunset Word Art Wednesday:  Week #493 - #494 Anything Goes Aud Sentiments Challenge: #276 Anything Goes + A Sentiment Cute Card Thursday Challenge:  #689 Anything Goes   Simon Says Wednesday Challenge:  Masculine

Your Next Stamp Challenge #152 Trios and Sketch Saturday

Happy Thanksgiving!  I was able to sneak in a little crafty time today and join a couple of fun challenges.  I recently purchased the adorable Photo Booth set from YNS and it paired perfectly with the Sketch Saturday challenge.  I'm hoping that the three panels from the sketch will satisfy the "trios" for YNS.  :) The cute pup and cat were colored with Copic markers and layered onto papers from Echo Park Birthday Wishes paper pad.  A coordinating sentiment from the set finishes the slimline card design. I'm joining the current Fall Festival Fun at Your Next Stamp with this clean and simple design.  My card features the adorable Scarf Weather set.   The image was colored with Copic markers and stamped using "One Third" of the panel.  I'm combining my card with the current AAA Cards Case challenge. Your Next Stamp Challenge: #147 Keeping it Clean and Simple

I'm joining the current Clean and Simple challenge at YNS featuring a retired silhouette image called Home Sweet Home.  The Scripture stamp is from Sweet 'n Sassy's Friendship is a Blessing set. I started by blending a few distress inks then spritzing with water.  The images were stamped using my Misti and VersaClaire black ink.  This card will be donated to a nursing home in my hometown.  The nurses requested birthday cards with Scripture to give to the residents on their birthdays. I'm joining the current challenge at Your Next Stamp with distress ink sponged blocks.  I pulled out two of my favorite YNS sets - Keepin' It Reel and Aquarium Antics for this birthday card. I started by making my own square mask then sponging with Tim Holtz distress inks - Blueprint Sketch, Salty ocean and Mermaid Lagoon.  It was spritzed with water and set aside to dry.  The crab was stamped onto watercolor paper, colored with Tombow markers and die cut.  The ocean critters and sign were stamped and gems attached for the finished card. I started with a wave stencil from SugarPea Designs.  The little ocean critters were stamped and die cut then colored with Tombow markers.  A coordinating sentiment from Aquarium Antics and bubbles finish the clean and simple birthday card. Your Next Stamp Fun Friday Challenge: #116 Pets

The current Fun Friday Challenge at YNS is all about pets.  I pulled out one of my favorite YNS sets - Aquarium Antics and created a quick shaker card. I started by using the coordinating die cut for the shaker window using designer paper from Carta Bella's Beach Boardwalk.  The fish bowl was stamped and colored on a separate sheet of card stock.  I created the shaker with a piece of plastic from my stash which I layered with the sequins and dimension foam.  Then layered it all and easy peasy! The turtle was stamped into water color paper and colored with Tombow markers.  I added a little orange for him to stand on and for a pop of color! I'm joining the current Fun Friday Challenge at Your Next Stamp with this Clean and Simple design.  My card features the adorable YNS Perk Up clear stamp set.  I love the fun coffee themed whimsical images and coordinating sentiments in this set! I started by stamping the coffee cup images onto Stampin' Up! Whisper White card stock then colored with Alcohol markers.  Memento Dandelion ink was sponged for the partial background.  A thin strip of SU Basic Black was applied.   I finished the card with a coordinating sentiment from the set and a few YNS Gumdrops.  I love how quickly this came together!  It will also be easy to mail to one of my coffee loving friends. I'm joining the current challenge at Your Next Stamps - What's Your Sign.  We were challenged to create something inspired by our Birthday.  My birthday is this month so I've chosen to use Fall colors, leave and a fall sentiment. The YNS image is from their adorable Scarf Weather set.  The image was colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut.  The card base was masked then sponged with Tim Holtz distress inks and spritzed with water.  I finished the card with sequins from Verve Stamps and googly eyes on the bunny. Your Next Stamp Sketch Challenge #90

I'm back with a very clean and simple version of the current YNS sketch challenge.  I have used a sentiment from Ellie Loves Lattes and a super cute die from Your Next Stamp called Home is Where the Heart Is. I have challenged myself to utilize some of my older paper stash and scraps.  The card base is River Rock cardstock from Stampin' Up with SU Ginger Blossom designer paper.  The emboss folder is also from SU Sizzix stitched clouds. Your Next Stamp Sketch Challenge #87

I'm joining the current sketch challenge at Your Next Stamp with their adorable Aquarium Antics stamp and die set.  This set is so much fun!  It includes several puny sentiments, water critters and two fish tanks for fun scenes. I started the card by experimenting with Tim Holtz Alcohol inks on Yupo cardstock for the base panel.  I mixed Indigo, Mermaid and Lettuce.  I kept adding layers, spritzing alcohol and blending solution until I was satisfied with the coloring. I layered a white panel with the circle cuts on top of the Yupo.  Finally, I spritzed Dylusions ink on the white panel for an extra "water" looking effect.  The little critters were stamped onto water color paper, colored with Tombow Markers and die cut. Of course, I couldn't resist adding googlie eyes to the little crab!  He just makes me smile.  I finished with a few enamel dots for extra color and texture. Your Next Stamp Sketch and Color Challenge #69

There is a new sketch and color challenge starting over at Your Next Stamp .  I have combined a YNS retired silhouette stamp called Home Sweet Home with a digital Word Art Scripture provided by Ginny Maxam over on the Christian Card Makers FB group .  I really love how well the image and Scripture work together! I recently expanded my Distress Ink collection with these three yummy colors. They were the perfect combination to create a "sunset" sky background for  the silhouette.   Each of the colors were swiped onto a plastic page protector then spritzed with  water.  (I've also used waxed paper) Then the cardstock was placed onto the ink several times until covered and I heat dried the panel to speed up the process.  Finally, I ran the panel  through my HP Photosmart printer to print the digital Scripture and then stamped the silhouette with Versafine ink. Machine stitched borders finished two o...

Your Next Stamp Sketch and Color Challenge #62

I recently won the sketch challenge at Your Next Stamps and couldn't  wait to order their new Aquarium Antics stamp set and matching die.  There are so many fun water creatures in this set to build aquarium and fish bowl scenes -- or just showcase the images alone. This is my entry for the YNS Sketch and Color Challenge #62 .  The papers are from American Crafts and the image was colored with Copic Markers.  A Loopy Rings die from Memory Box represents one of the panels and sequins from Verve finish the card. Your Next Stamp Sketch and Color Challenge #60

I very recently became a follower of Your Next Stamp AND I'm hooked! (pun intended) This fun fishing set has been on my wish list and I finally got it last week.  It's perfect for the current sketch challenge and I needed a birthday card for my  FIL who is an avid fisherman. Win, Win!!  I started by stamping the fisherman from Keepin' It Reel on Copic Marker 70 lb Paper. He was stamped again on masking paper, cut out and placed over the original image. The sky was then sponged with Danube Blue Memento ink using a scallop die cut.   Then Pear Tart was sponged for the grass. The image was colored with Copic Markers and I paper pieced the vest with papers from Pink Paislee Outfitters  paper pad.  The scene was layered onto designer paper from the same pad.  The Radiant Sun die is from MFT. I really like how this scene turned out! Thanks for stopping by for a closer look. I'm shar...
