Mo's Digital Pencil - Challenge #71

It's been a few weeks since I've gotten to participate with Mo's weekly challenge over on the DP2 Challenge blog. This week Cathy's challenge was to use Spring colors and homemade flower embellishments with our Mo's image. Below is what I came up with:

Below is a close up of the ribbon flower that I made. It was my very first try with this technique and very easy! I took about a yard of ribbon and began rolling up it into a small ball. I had already punched a small circle from heavy cardstock, applied hot glue and stuck the ribbon onto the glue. I really like the finished effect!
I colored this sweet image of Jack & Ginger with Copic Markers and sponged the background. I added designer paper from the Basic Grey Hopscotch paper pack and a few pearls. Thanks for taking a look!

Hubby and I took a couple of week's away from the cold and snow in Alaska to enjoy the warmth of Maui. We enjoyed every minute of the sun, sand and water that we could!! This is a photo that I took from one of the beaches we went to while we were down there.

Ah....Maui! We're going back to the islands for our third visit in June of 2012. We'll be taking our grandchildren with us. We'll be going to Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island. I can't wait!
Love the simple layout on your card...it really highlights the image. Great flower, too. Glad you joined us in Mo's Challenge.

Hi Cynthia...yikes...going from Alaska to Hawaii...your poor bodies must have really been "shocked"!! I was thinking you could get away with an all white card for Alaska Spring colors! Hehehehe! Your photo of Maui is so inviting. I went there in 1990...for our 20th anniversary. What a stunning vacay spot!! And speaking of stunning...that flower is the BEST! I love it! And Jack & Ginger have always been a fave of mine!! So glad you've joined us this week at Mo's! Pat Frank
