Stampin' In Alaska

I have to admit that I've become kind of a clean and simple  card style designer. At times I struggle with embellishments or fussy layers and bling..... So, when this week's sketch at From the Heart Stamps was posted I was a little intimidated. But I made it my own and came up with something simple, but with  a few floral embellishments from my stash.  Oh, and did I mention that purple is  extremely difficult for me?? With all of that being said, I really  enjoyed the creative process of this card and like how it turned out. The Spring Fence image was printed  onto Stampin' Up! Whisper White card stock and colored with Copic Markers, Prismacolor pencils and shaded with charcoal pencil. A machine stitched border, paper flowers and sentiment from FTHS  Apple Blossom Birds   finish the card. I would like to share my card with the following: i {heart} card sketches with a tWist #14...

The Bugaboo Design Team is sharing a little  Oldie But Goodie  inspiration with you today! My card features the adorable digital image Pup Sleep I started this little scene by printing the digital pup image onto Stampin' Up! Whisper White card stock and coloring it with Copic Markers and then fussy cut. The dog house die is from My Favorite Things . I cut the Grassland Border die from Memory Box twice and adhered it to the sponged sky base. I created my background by sponging with Memento Danube Blue ink using a scallop die as a mask. The first Saturday of the month Bugaboo sponsors an easy Anything Goes Challenge! My card features the adorable Right Beside You Silhouette  The sentiment was omitted as I  will be using this as an Anniversary card for a couple in our church. The background was sponged with various Memento inks. Machine stitching and ribbon finish the card. Each week Bugaboo features an image in the shop  and you can get it FREE.   This week's digital image is Hang in There - Dog I needed a gift bag and enclosure card for an upcoming baby shower at work. This week's image is perfect!   This is one of the things that I love about using digital images --- Sizing! I enlarged the image for the bag to 6 inches and about 2.5 inches for the gift card.   Of course, the image on the gift bag was  paper pieced and the entire panel has a machine stitched border.   Be sure to stop by the Bugaboo Blog for more design team inspiration! From the Heart Stamps has a fun new sketch this week. The Twist is to create an easel card. My card features the adorable Five Party Birds The digital image was printed onto  Stampin' Up! Whisper White card stock and colored with Copic markers. Faux buttons were created with an MFT button die cut.  The base was dry embossed with a Cuttlebug spot folder. Happy Tuesday AND first day of March!   The Bugaboo Design Team is back again this week featuring one of Jodie's fabulous new release images for March.
